Abstract

The phenomenon of hijab use among Muslim female adolescents reflects a shift, where some students tend to wear the hijab in a fashionable manner that does not align with Islamic legal prescriptions, such as using transparent hijabs or not fully covering the hair. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic religious understanding on wearing the hijab according to sharia among eleventh-grade students at SMA Insan Kamil Bogor. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 74 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, while data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with the aid of SPSS software. The results show that Islamic religious understanding has a significant influence on sharia-compliant hijab use, with an R Square value of 0.188, indicating that 18.8% of the variability in hijab use can be explained by the level of Islamic understanding. The significance test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), thus the hypothesis is accepted. These findings indicate that the higher the level of Islamic understanding, the greater the tendency for students to wear the hijab in accordance with sharia. In conclusion, although Islamic religious understanding has a significant influence, other factors also affect hijab-wearing behavior. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen Islamic understanding through education and the cultivation of religious values to ensure consistent adherence to sharia-compliant hijab use.

Abstract

Physical fitness is an important factor that can influence the quality of teachers' classroom performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of physical fitness on teaching performance among teachers in Serdang Bedagai Regency. A quantitative method and literature review were employed using a descriptive approach. The research population consisted of all educators in the area, with a sample of 15 individuals selected randomly. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observation, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out using descriptive quantitative methods. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between physical fitness and teaching performance. Teachers with good physical fitness levels demonstrated higher attendance and punctuality, more comfortable interaction with students, more effective delivery of learning materials, and better classroom management. The conclusion of this study is that physical fitness should be a focus in efforts to improve teacher performance in the classroom. The practical implications of these findings suggest the need for light physical activities, such as ice breaking or light exercises, before starting the teaching process to support teachers' physical condition and teaching enthusiasm.

Abstract

Adolescence is a developmental phase that is vulnerable to both internal and external emotional pressures, which often results in low emotional independence. Preliminary findings at SMP Negeri 2 Teluk Kuantan revealed students with high levels of dependency when facing personal and social problems. This study aims to examine the effect of group counseling services on improving students’ emotional independence. A quantitative approach was used with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The research subjects consisted of nine students purposively selected based on criteria of low emotional independence. Instruments included an emotional independence questionnaire and an observation sheet, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-gain test with the assistance of SPSS version 23. The results showed that group counseling services had a positive impact on increasing students’ emotional independence, with an average N-gain score of 0.47, categorized as moderate improvement. These findings indicate that group counseling is effective as an intervention strategy to develop students’ emotional independence. The implications of this study highlight the importance of optimizing the role of guidance and counseling teachers in designing and implementing services that support students’ emotional development in an independent and adaptive manner.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of disciplinary violations committed by tenth-grade students, the strategies employed by Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam or PAI) teachers to instill discipline in the digital era, and the challenges encountered in the process. A qualitative approach was used with a case study method, employing observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results show that the most frequent violations include tardiness, dress code infractions, and misconduct during lessons. In addressing these issues, PAI teachers apply strategies such as role modeling, instilling disciplinary values through instruction, and fostering habitual disciplined behavior in students’ daily activities. These strategies are implemented continuously so that disciplinary values become part of the students’ character. The main challenges in applying these strategies include students’ low awareness of the importance of discipline, unsupportive social environments, and the suboptimal role of parents in character development at home. This study affirms the crucial role of teachers in shaping students' discipline, particularly through consistent, contextual, and relevant approaches aligned with the dynamics of digital life today. The practical implications of this study encourage synergy between schools, families, and social environments in instilling discipline as a core component of character education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the post-earthquake rehabilitation and reconstruction program implemented by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah or BPBD) of West Pasaman Regency in Kenagarian Kajai. The 2022 earthquake caused significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and public facilities, necessitating a rapid and appropriate recovery response. The study employed a quasi qualitative approach with a simple research design to evaluate program implementation, identify obstacles, and formulate improvement recommendations. Data were collected through interviews, observation, documentation, and the distribution of 96 questionnaires, and analyzed based on effectiveness indicators: target accuracy, timeliness, and outcome achievement. The findings show that the program was relatively ineffective, with a performance score of 73%. The program included the repair of severely damaged houses, construction of public facilities, and restoration of road access. However, several challenges were identified, such as limited human resources, delays in fund disbursement due to complex bureaucracy, and inaccurate damage assessments leading to unequal aid distribution. Despite these issues, the program’s positive impact was still felt by the community, though its effectiveness needs improvement. The study recommends strengthening inter-agency coordination, accelerating fund disbursement processes, enhancing human resource capacity, and improving data collection systems to ensure more accurate and equitable aid distribution. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for future post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction policy development.

Abstract

Post flood rehabilitation and reconstruction programs in various regions often face challenges in their implementation, yet in depth studies at the nagari level remain limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of post disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction programs in Nagari Ganting Mudiak Utara, Sutera Subdistrict, Pesisir Selatan Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with participants including nagari officials, representatives from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and affected community members. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that the rehabilitation program includes social, psychological, and economic recovery, with high community participation. However, limited facilities and human resources are the main obstacles. Meanwhile, the reconstruction program focused on rebuilding basic infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and residents' homes, which was carried out gradually by the local government. Budget constraints and bureaucratic processes slowed down its implementation. The conclusion of this study is that although the program has shown positive outcomes, more comprehensive planning, strengthened interagency coordination, and enhanced implementation capacity are needed so that post disaster response efforts can be more effective, efficient, and sustainable.

Abstract

The widespread use of advanced technology over time has driven significant changes in teaching strategies, prompting education to adapt through the implementation of technology based learning media. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays an important role in aligning students’ competency development with their characteristics by utilizing technology as an innovative learning medium that does not detach students from the digital world. This study aims to analyze the development of the digital flipbook “FIKIR” as an innovative learning medium to enhance students’ knowledge through an engaging approach. The method used is Design and Development research with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Validation results from subject matter and media experts show that the digital flipbook “FIKIR” falls into the category of highly suitable for use. Field trials indicate that most students reported the medium as helpful in supporting their learning process effectively. The conclusion of this study is that the development of the digital flipbook “FIKIR” has a positive impact on PAI learning, particularly for third grade students at SD Hegarmanah, and has the potential to become an adaptive and applicable technology based learning medium in primary education.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the innovation effort of producing stick snacks using local ingredients, specifically steamed white sweet potatoes as a substitute for potatoes. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of 100% substitution with steamed white sweet potatoes on the quality of stick snacks. The study was conducted at the Culinary Arts Workshop in February 2025 using a true experimental method. The research design consisted of two treatments with three repetitions each. An organoleptic test was carried out by 15 semi trained panelists, namely IKK students who had completed the Indonesian cakes and beverages course. Data analysis was conducted using a t test to determine the significance of differences between treatments. Test results were tabulated and analyzed to assess whether the substitution significantly affected the quality of the stick snacks. The findings indicate that in terms of shape and color, both treatments produced uniformly shaped 9 cm sticks with a golden yellow hue. For the aroma aspect, treatment X2 received the highest average score of 3.07, while for texture, the highest average score of 3.62 was obtained from treatment X1. In the taste category, the highest score was again achieved by treatment X2 with an average score of 3.04. These results suggest that steamed white sweet potato substitution affects the quality of the stick snacks, particularly in the aroma and taste categories. This study recommends the use of white sweet potatoes as a potential alternative raw material in the development of local food products.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of physical and mental fitness as crucial aspects in supporting soldiers' operational readiness in the field, including the need for a balance between optimal nutritional intake and adequate rest. The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of nutrition and rest in supporting the physical fitness level of TNI soldiers in the North Sumatra region. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and physical condition assessments of the soldiers. The results show that meeting the needs for balanced nutrition and sufficient rest has a significant relationship with soldiers' fitness levels. Soldiers with good dietary patterns and regular sleep schedules tend to exhibit higher physical performance, stronger immunity, and better emotional stability and cognitive function. Nutritional intake that includes macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats) and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals) is essential for maintaining physical and mental health. On the other hand, quality sleep of 7 to 9 hours per day plays a role in cell regeneration, immune system enhancement, and stress hormone regulation. The main challenges faced by soldiers include logistical constraints, extreme weather conditions, psychological pressure, and irregular rest periods. To address these issues, strategies such as the provision of nutritious ready-to-eat meals, portable rest facilities, and education on nutrition and sleep management can be applied. The conclusion of this study is that nutrition and rest are fundamental factors in maintaining the overall physical fitness of soldiers.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of assertive communication and the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers on student learning outcomes. Assertive communication is defined as the ability to express desires, expectations, thoughts, and feelings honestly and clearly, while still respecting others’ preferences. Meanwhile, pedagogical competence encompasses a teacher’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes in designing and implementing effective instruction. This research used a quantitative approach with a population of 65 students at SMA Jati Agung Taman Sidoarjo. Data were collected using questionnaires, and data analysis involved instrument testing, classical assumption testing, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 26. The results show that the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers has a significant effect on student learning outcomes (significance value 0.000). However, the assertive communication variable did not show a significant effect (significance value 0.472). The conclusion of this study is that enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence directly contributes positively to students’ academic achievement, whereas assertive communication has not been shown to have a significant impact in this context. The implications of these findings point to the importance of strengthening teachers’ pedagogical capacities and suggest the need for further studies to explore the relationship between communication styles and learning success in the classroom.
