Abstract

The development of digital technology has made it easier for early adolescents to access various entertainment platforms, including online games, at a developmental stage in which a strong tendency to conform to peers and unstable self-control increase vulnerability to online game addiction. This study aimed to examine the roles of conformity and self-control in online game addiction among early adolescents in West Jakarta. A quantitative approach with a causal design was employed, involving 265 early adolescents aged 12–15 years selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of the Self-Control Scale (SCS) Brief Version, a Conformity Scale, and the Game Addiction Scale (GAS), all of which had undergone adaptation, validity, and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that conformity had a positive and significant effect on online game addiction, whereas self-control had a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, conformity and self-control contributed 35.1% to online game addiction (R² = 0.351), while the remaining 64.9% was influenced by other factors. These findings underscore the crucial roles of conformity and self-control in shaping online gaming behavior among early adolescents and provide an empirical basis for developing preventive intervention programs focused on strengthening self-control and managing peer-group influence.

Abstract

Father involvement in parenting is a crucial factor shaping the emotional and relational development of daughters into adulthood, yet studies that specifically examine its association with insecure attachment among early adult women in romantic relationships remain limited. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between father involvement and insecure attachment in early adult women who are currently in romantic relationships. A quantitative method with a correlational design was employed, involving 237 female participants aged 18–25 years who had been dating or engaged for a minimum of six months. The instruments used were the Perceived Father Involvement (PFI) scale to measure father involvement and the Experiences in Close Relationships–Revised (ECR–R) to measure attachment insecurity. Data were analyzed using a correlation test, which yielded a coefficient of r = -0.728, indicating a strong negative relationship between father involvement and attachment insecurity. This means that the higher the perceived father involvement, the lower the level of insecure attachment in romantic relationships. These findings underscore the importance of fathers’ emotional presence in fostering more secure attachment patterns in early adult women and open opportunities for developing interventions that incorporate the quality of the father–child relationship as a promotive effort for relational health in adulthood.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has made social media an integral part of Generation Z’s daily life; however, the intensity of its use is also associated with increasing mental health problems, one of which is social anxiety. Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is a psychological factor that drives individuals to remain constantly connected via social media and has the potential to trigger addictive use. This study aimed to examine the role of social media addiction in the effect of FoMO on social anxiety among early adults in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. A non-experimental quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed, involving 380 participants aged 18–25 years who were active social media users and selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used included the Social Anxiety Scale for Social Media Users (SAS-SMU), the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS), and a FoMO scale, all of which had undergone adaptation, validity testing, and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using correlation tests and mediation analysis with PROCESS model 4. The results showed that FoMO had a positive and significant relationship with social anxiety (r = 0.692; p < 0.001) and a positive effect on social anxiety (β = 0.642), as well as a positive and significant relationship with social media addiction (r = 0.788; p < 0.001) with a positive effect (β = 0.483). Social media addiction also had a positive and significant relationship with social anxiety (r = 0.696; p < 0.001) and a positive effect (β = 1.105). The effect of FoMO on social anxiety mediated by social media addiction showed an indirect effect of β = 0.534, indicating partial mediation. Thus, FoMO contributes to increased social anxiety both directly and indirectly through social media addiction among early adults. These findings underscore the importance of managing social media use and implementing preventive interventions to minimize negative psychological impacts on Generation Z.

Abstract

The cold lava flow disaster of Mount Marapi has had significant impacts on the social and economic life of the community, particularly farming communities in Nagari Parambahan, Lima Kaum Subdistrict, Tanah Datar Regency, through the destruction of agricultural land, disruption of irrigation systems, loss of livelihoods, and declines in agricultural productivity that have tested community resilience in sustaining their livelihoods. This study aimed to analyze the resilience of farming communities in the aftermath of the cold lava flow disaster by examining adaptation strategies, socio-economic recovery processes, and empowerment efforts undertaken by the community and relevant stakeholders. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies, and informants selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the resilience of farming communities in Nagari Parambahan is at a moderate level, as reflected in livelihood diversification, the strengthening of social solidarity, and the utilization of government assistance, although the recovery process has not yet been optimal due to limited budgets, slow rehabilitation of agricultural land and infrastructure, and a lack of sustained technical assistance. This study concludes that post-disaster community resilience requires integrated, sustainable, and locally grounded policy support, with important implications for strengthening synergy between government, communities, and relevant institutions to ensure the sustainability of the agricultural sector in affected areas.

Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in shaping individuals holistically amid globalization, which is marked by advances in information and communication technology, thereby necessitating innovative, interactive learning media aligned with learners’ characteristics. This study aims to explore the potential development of an instructional medium in the form of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based animated video named “KIDANA” to support Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The research employed a Design and Development (D&D) approach encompassing the stages of design, validation, and trial with Grade IV students at SDN Cimeuhmal. The research instruments consisted of validation questionnaires for media experts and material experts, as well as student response questionnaires. The validation results show that “KIDANA” obtained an average score of 92% from media experts and 90% from material experts, both categorized as “highly feasible.” A limited trial involving 17 students yielded positive responses with a percentage of 90%, reflecting high interest and improved student understanding of Islamic Religious Education content. These findings indicate that AI-based animated video media is not only suitable for use but also effective in creating interactive and engaging learning, while offering a more personal and adaptive learning approach aligned with students’ needs in the digital era. This study contributes to the development of innovative teaching methods and demonstrates the potential of leveraging AI technology to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of educational processes. Abstract

The cultivation of creativity stands as a paramount objective in contemporary education, particularly in an era demanding innovative problem-solving and adaptive thinking. While traditional music education often emphasizes technical proficiency, the potential of cultural instruments like the Angklung to serve as a conduit for creative expression remains underexplored in terms of dedicated learning resources. This study, employing a library research methodology, aims to systematically review existing literature to identify key components and pedagogical approaches for developing Angklung learning resources specifically designed to enhance student creativity. The research synthesizes insights from creativity theories, music pedagogy, and educational technology to propose a comprehensive framework. Results indicate that effective resources must integrate elements of open-ended exploration, collaborative learning, digital engagement, and culturally responsive instruction. The findings suggest that a holistic approach, moving beyond rote learning, can significantly unlock students' creative potential through Angklung. This research contributes theoretically by bridging creativity frameworks with cultural music pedagogy and offers practical implications for educators and curriculum developers in designing engaging and creativity-focused Angklung learning environments. The study concludes by emphasizing the critical role of culturally relevant musical instruments in fostering diverse forms of creativity and recommends empirical validation of the proposed resource framework.

Abstract

Studies on art studio management have been widely conducted; however, discussions that specifically examine the integration of organizational governance and social media-based marketing strategies in local traditional art studios remain limited. This study aims to describe and analyze the management practices of Sanggar Tuah Sepakat in Lubuk Alung Subdistrict, Padang Pariaman Regency, particularly in terms of organizational governance and the marketing of performing arts through social media. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving three informants selected through purposive sampling, consisting of the studio leader, music coordinator, and costume coordinator. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Sanggar Tuah Sepakat has implemented management functions—planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling—in a structured manner, thereby supporting the smooth execution of performance production, member development, and organizational sustainability. In addition, the use of social media, particularly Instagram, plays an important role in strengthening the studio’s visibility, expanding the reach of its promotional activities, and facilitating collaboration with various event partners. This study contributes to the literature on performing arts management and affirms that sound organizational governance and effective digital marketing strategies are critical prerequisites for sustaining traditional art studios amid the dynamics of the creative industries.

Abstract

The management of daily school activities plays an important role in supporting the effectiveness of educational processes; however, non-integrated data management can lead to inefficient administrative procedures and hinder information retrieval. This study aimed to evaluate user acceptance of a school daily activity management application using the User Acceptance Test (UAT) method, with a case study at SMP Negeri 2 Solok City. The evaluation was conducted by involving application users as respondents who completed a Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data were then analyzed to determine user acceptance levels by user category. The test results indicated very high levels of acceptance, with UAT scores of 97.6% for subject teachers, 96.4% for duty teachers, 99.1% for guidance and counseling teachers, 93.9% for homeroom teachers, 90.8% for students, and 94.5% for security staff. Overall, the application obtained an average score of 95.4% and was classified in the “very good” category. These findings show that the application is highly accepted by users and is perceived as capable of effectively and systematically supporting the management of daily school activities. The results of this study can serve as a reference for schools in improving the management of school activities and for application developers in further refining the system so that it becomes increasingly optimal in supporting school administration and daily activity management.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the higher-order thinking skills urgently needed in 21st-century learning, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). However, PAI instruction in schools remains largely teacher-centered, thus providing limited opportunities for students to develop critical thinking skills. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the Case Based Learning (CBL) model in improving students’ critical thinking skills in PAI at SMA Negeri 15 Padang. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method was employed, with the research subjects being Grade XI students. Data were collected through a critical thinking skills test and structured observations during the implementation of CBL, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the application of the Case Based Learning model was effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in PAI, as indicated by a test value of 0.48 and a structured observation score of 95%. The model encouraged student activeness, improved analytical abilities, and helped students connect PAI content with real-life problems. These findings confirm that Case Based Learning is a viable alternative instructional model for strengthening critical thinking skills and student engagement in PAI learning at the senior secondary level.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the still limited number of investigations examining the relationship between the guided inquiry learning model and students’ learning activeness in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti) at the senior high school level, even though low learning activeness has a significant impact on the quality of teaching and learning processes and outcomes. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model and the learning activeness of Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Pariaman. A quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method was employed, involving 76 Grade XI students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a guided inquiry learning model questionnaire as variable X and a student learning activeness questionnaire as variable Y, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and linearity tests, Product Moment correlation, t-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results showed that the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model was in the “good” category, with an average score of 85.513, and students’ learning activeness was also in the “good” category, with an average score of 87.921. There was a positive and significant relationship between the guided inquiry learning model and students’ learning activeness, with r = 0.500 and p = 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a 25% contribution to learning activeness. These findings are consistent with constructivist learning theory, which emphasizes active student involvement in the learning process, and indicate that the application of guided inquiry plays an important role in enhancing learning activeness. The implications of this study include strengthening the theoretical discourse on the guided inquiry learning model and providing practical recommendations for Islamic Religious Education and Character Education teachers to adopt learning models that foster active student engagement, as well as opening avenues for further research on other factors influencing learning activeness.
