Abstract

Current world data is estimated that there are 500 million people with an average age of 60 years and by 2025 this data will increase to 1.2 billion. The elderly have many declines in body physiology, especially those that affect balance control such as decreased muscle strength, and changes in body posture. The Gastrocnemius muscle belongs to the leg flexor muscle group which functions for flexion of the phalanges of the foot and plantar flexion of the ankle as well as the large muscles that support the body to maintain balance. Data processing used a qualitative descriptive approach. The data obtained in the form of primary data, namely age, gender and occupation by using questionnaires and direct interviews. Furthermore, the gastrocnemius muscle strength data was assisted using a manual muscle testing (MMT) measuring instrument and the identification of the risk of falling using a time up go to test (TUGT) measuring instrument. The conclusion is that the neuromuscular changes that occur in the elderly in the form of decreased muscle mass and atrophy of the leg muscles assisted by the nervous system when working to contract will result in decreased strength in the gastrocnemius muscle. As well as changes in somatosensory function in the form of proprioceptive disorders, will have a bad effect on the balance of the elderly. This happens because muscle strength and sensory systems are included in the components of balance. Poor balance typing can put you at risk of falling. This incident proves that the strength of the leg muscles, namely the gastrocnemius muscle, is associated with the risk of falling in the elderly

Abstract

The problem of accidents in children at school often occurs. At pre-school age, accidents contribute to morbidity and mortality in children, which are caused by traffic accidents, choking, drowning, falls and burns. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of PAUD teachers about emergencies in PAUD children. Lecture and discussion methods were used in this activity, using LCD media by measuring participants' knowledge before and after the activity took place. The participants were 26 PAUD teachers who were representatives of schools under the working area of the Sempor 1 Public Health Center. The results of the counseling showed an increase in the knowledge of PAUD teachers by 40%. Emergency counseling to early childhood has a positive impact on increasing the knowledge of PAUD teachers in the working area of the Sempor 1 Health Center

Abstract

Vaccination is an effort to prevent Covid-19. In addition, the 5M health protocols, such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility are not enough to avoid Covid-19. Education is needed as an effort to increase public knowledge about the use of medicinal plants during a pandemic. The method that used in this study includes a preparation, implementation, and reports. Pretest and posttest values were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The results showed that there was a change in the level of knowledge, such as a decrease in low-knowledge category from 11.6% to 2.3%, the middle-knowledge category from 48.8% to 11.6% and an increase in good-knowledge category from 39.5% to 86.0 %. Wilcoxon test used in this study with 95% confidence level showed that there was a significant difference between before and after education (p value = 0.000). The education is able to increase public knowledge, especially Muhammadiyah society about the use of medicinal plants to increase immunity during a pandemic.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has a major impact on the economic sector, especially the MSME sector which is the largest sector in the economy. Disnakerkumkm provides training for MSME facilitators to increase the capacity and ability of MSME facilitators. This training aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs accompanying MSMEs, they can provide more appropriate solutions based on theory and practice so that they can help MSMEs to rise up in the post-pandemic.

Abstract

Economic development through empowering SMEs needs to look at several important things, because basically SME actors still have some limitations so they need assistance and education to improve the quality of Human Resources so that the businesses they run can survive and continue to grow. The lack of ability to manage products, marketing and finance is the biggest obstacle faced by SMEs today, even though the ability of SMEs to manage their products and finances is the key to success for an entrepreneur. The problem faced in the financial sector is that if SMEs cannot manage their finances properly, it will cause various problems for business continuity. The problems faced besides finance are in terms of products and promotions. Often MSME actors do not pay attention to the packaging design of the product itself, even though the product packaging design affects the price of the product itself. The purpose of this service is to educate SMEs to carry out financial records and design packaging for SME products in Kahuman Village. The number of participants was 13 SMEs, all of which were classified as Small and Medium Industries.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the number of red blood cells or the concentration of oxygen carriers in the blood, namely hemoglobin [Hb] is not sufficient for the physiological needs of the body. The incidence of anemia in adolescents aged 15-24 in Indonesia based on Riskesdas in 2018 was 32%. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of young women about anemia in adolescents, including the causes, complications, methods of prevention, and management of anemia. The method of this activity is through the provision of health education to 35 young women who attend. Measurement of knowledge was carried out before and after counseling using a questionnaire. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the level of knowledge of young women about anemia in adolescents. Before the activity, most of the youth's level of knowledge was adequate [51%], while after the activity, most of the youth's level of knowledge was good [54%]. The conclusion of community service activities through health counseling at the youth posyandu can increase knowledge about anemia in adolescent girls so that it is expected to be able to prevent anemia, especially in adolescent girls.

Abstract

Adolescents are faced with complex problems related to physical, psychological and emotional changes that caused with them experience health problems. Lack of knowledge, would had an impact on reproductive health status. Availability of adolescent care health services that can meet adolescent health needs, especially adolescent-friendly reproductive health services. The purpose of this activity was to increased understanding and awareness of health among adolescents. The method used was the planning stage and the implementation stage. In this community service, the participants played a drama that has been arranged by the service team. This drama told about an incident that is currently happening a lot among adolescents, namely free sex behavior. Adolescents who taken a part in this activity understood the purpose of this activity, and adolescents could hold the material that has been given by the implementing team.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in biodiversity and has great opportunities for the development of herbal medicine research. It has been empirically proven and from generation to generation the use of efficacious plants as herbal medicine and traditional medicine. Traditional medicine has also received support from BPOM which is committed to supporting the use of Indonesian herbs and traditional medicines to be developed into herbal medicinal products, traditional medicines as health supplements for the prevention of the Covid-19 virus. The purpose of this community service is to help increase public awareness in the use of medicinal plants to improve the body's immune system based on the plant parts used, processing methods, sources, and uses and to help find TOGA land to be used by the people of Kedungsari Village as a step to prevent the Covid-19 virus. 19. The results of the extension activities of medicinal plants based on the results of the questionnaire obtained that the level of knowledge of PKK mothers in Kedungsari village, Klirong district was good, seen from the pre-test results with an average of 81.5 and post-test results of 92.5. From these data it can be concluded that sosialization can increase public understanding of TOGA in Kedungsari Village, Klirong District, Kebumen Regency.

Abstract

The wrong use of traditional medicine is when people have expectations that traditional medicine can heal, so their use increases. This Community Service was carried out in Jagasima Village, Klirong District, targeting PKK cadres and villagers. The problem that arises is the lack of public knowledge about traditional medicines that contain medicinal chemicals and without knowing traditional medicines there is no distribution permit from BPOM. This community service aims to realize accuracy, care, awareness, understanding and increase knowledge in using traditional medicines correctly and understanding the dangers of medicinal chemicals in traditional medicines so as to be able to provide explanations and increase knowledge to the public on the use of traditional medicines so that a drug-aware society is realized. The method used was data collection of prospective trainees, discussions with village officials and committees formed by the village, discussions with members, implementation of activities in the form of lectures, discussions, ice breaking and simulations related to traditional medicines and medicines. In conclusion, the community in Jogosima Village as the target was very enthusiastic in participating in this activity. After this activity, the village community can know the dangers of medicinal chemicals found in traditional medicines and can know how to choose good and correct traditional medicines that do not contain medicinal chemicals.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the health problems that Indonesia is still facing. The World Health Organization (WHO) once placed Indonesia as the third country with the highest prevalence of stunting in Asia in 2017. Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK). Stunting affects the growth and development of the brain so that there is a higher risk of suffering from chronic diseases in adulthood. The purpose of this community service is to increase knowledge to mothers of toddlers about toddler nutrition. This community service method is to conduct counseling about toddler nutrition. Community service results: Pretest results show that of the 15 mothers of children under five who participated in the activity, 11 mothers had less knowledge, and 4 had sufficient knowledge. The results of the posttest after the counseling were 15 mothers of toddlers who had good knowledge. The conclusion of community service is: There is an increase in knowledge after counseling on toddler nutrition
