Abstract

This study aims to describe the preservation of library materials, the factors that cause damage, and the obstacles faced by librarians in preserving the Postgraduate Library of Padang State University. The method used is descriptive qualitative data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The results showed that the preservation activities carried out include cleaning dust, tidying up books, regulating room temperature, and checking collections. Factors causing damage to library materials include environmental factors such as light, biological factors, especially termites and insects, and Human Factors. Constraints faced by librarians in the preservation is the lack of budget, limited library personnel, and lack of complete preservation equipment. It is recommended that libraries improve the implementation of preservation, conduct training for librarians, provide special rooms and funds, and equip preservation equipment as needed.preservation, library materials, damage factors, preservation constraints

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon where many final year students tend to lack career optimism, resulting in insufficient confidence in preparing for their careers after graduation. In Indonesia, issues related to career optimism have a significant impact on the unemployment rate. An individual's career optimism can be seen from self-confidence and perceptions of career opportunities. One of the factors suspected to influence career optimism is social support from parents. However, final year students often receive inadequate social support from their parents, which can affect their career optimism. The objectives of this study are to: (1) Describe the parental social support received by final year students regarding their careers, (2) Describe the career optimism of final year students, and (3) Examine the significant relationship between parental social support and career optimism among final year students. The type of research used is descriptive correlational quantitative. The research sample consisted of 287 final year students using purposive proportional random sampling technique. The instruments used were scales measuring parental social support and career optimism. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and Pearson Product Moment correlation to determine the relationship between parental social support and career optimism among final year students. The results of the study revealed that: (1) The parental social support received by final year students is in the high category, (2) The career optimism of final year students is in the high category, and (3) There is a significant positive relationship between parental social support and career optimism among final year students with r = 0,244.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how the implementation of national library standards on collection standards and infrastructure facilities at the Padang City Library and Archives Service based on the National Library Standards (SNP 008:2017). The method used in the research is the descriptive method, with a qualitative type of research. The background of the research was carried out at the Padang City Library and Archives Office located in Gor Haji Agus Salim Padang. Data entry to be done obtained from interviews and documentation that the author will do directly at the Padang City Library and Archives Office. The selection of informants was carried out by purposive sampling techniques Data collection techniques used interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that (1) the collection standard that has not met the standard is the type of library collection because for the type of collection in the form of Electronics and recorded works do not exist yet, for the number of library collections is sufficient However, for the procurement of collections has not been carried out in accordance with the national library standards because they are constrained by the budget, the up-to-date collections have also not met the standards because there are still many collections published in the old year, the development of collections has not been in accordance with standards because there have never been re-shuffling activities, the procurement of library materials has not been carried out according to standards because they are constrained by The budget, the up-to-date collection has also not met the standards because many collections published in the old year are still used, the development of collections has not been in accordance with standards because there have never been re-opening activities, the procurement of library materials has not been carried out according to standards because of budget constraints, the preservation of collections has not been in accordance with standards because there are no tools that can be used for collection preservation, and the processing of library materials has been carried out in accordance with standards national libraries.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program at the Archives and Library Office of Padang Pariaman Regency based on connectivity, content, and human aspects. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. There are 2 informants in this study consisting of 1 first expert librarian and 1 young expert librarian. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, observation and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques were carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the research conducted, it shows that the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program is based on three aspects, namely. (1) Connectivity aspect: infrastructure facilities for people with disabilities; efforts to reach out to users have not been carried out effectively; and the OPAC library material search system that does not function properly. (2) Content Aspect, there is no collection for people with disabilities; and library socialization to the community has not been carried out thoroughly. (3) Human Aspect: the community is less responsive; budget limitations; and the partnership network with various parties is not yet widespread. The efforts made by the Office of Archives and Libraries of Padang Pariaman Regency in overcoming obstacles are to establish partnerships with village library managers.

Abstract

Marketing strategy is the operational planning of a company with a design of activities to achieve goals while still taking into account internal and external business factors. Marketing is a strategic effort that aims to maintain and develop a business in order to generate profits for the company in both the goods and services sectors. Business sustainability is a condition that allows a company to survive in a competitive environment. This research aims to determine the marketing strategy of the Gemilang Rasa restaurant in maintaining business continuity and why the Gemilang Rasa restaurant does not carry out an optimal marketing mix, especially in the promotion process. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection technique in this research uses observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that the marketing strategy used by Gemilang Rasa Restaurant is the 6P Marketing Mix and the reason why Gemilang Rasa Restaurant does not carry out an optimal marketing mix, especially in the promotion process, is a lack of understanding about digitalization and the existence of costs/profit sharing when partnering with online food. delivery. Apart from that, there are also obstacles faced in maintaining business continuity, namely: business competition constraints and instability in raw material prices.

Abstract

The credibility and bank products of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia KC Payakumbuh on saving decisions are the driving forces behind this study. This study aims to ascertain how bank reputation and offerings at Bank Muamalat Payakumbuh influence consumers' decisions to save. Using a descriptive methodology and quantitative research approaches, this study examines 3,754 customers with a sample size of 100 respondents. The methods of collecting data are questionnaires and observation. This study includes one dependent variable, saving decisions, and two independent variables, bank reputation, and products. A simultaneous test (F test) and an individual significant test (T-test) are two types of data analysis used to test the hypothesis.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) 1. Find out the influence of knowledge about the world of work on the work readiness of class 1 West Sumatra (3) To determine the influence of knowledge about the world of work and experience of industrial work practices on the work readiness of class XII students majoring in machinery at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. This research is ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were class Data collection uses a questionnaire. Analysis prerequisite tests include normality tests, linearity tests and multicollinearity tests. The data analysis technique used is simple regression for the first and second hypotheses and multiple regression analysis for the third hypothesis. The results of this research are: (1) there is a positive and significant influence of knowledge about the working world on the work readiness of 12th-grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat, as indicated by an rx1y value of 0.488, an r2x1y value of 0.238, and a t-value greater than the t-table value (4.216 > 2.002); (2) there is a positive and significant influence of industrial work practice experience on the work readiness of 12th-grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat, as indicated by an rx2y value of 0.558, an r2x2y value of 0.311, and a t-value greater than the t-table value (5.072 > 2.002); (3) there is a positive and significant influence of knowledge about the working world and industrial work practice experience on the work readiness of 12th-grade students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat, as indicated by an rx(1,2)y value of 0.598, an r2x(1,2)y value of 0.358, and an F-value greater than the F-table value (15.603 > 3.162).

Abstract

Research in the background by student learning outcomes that are not optimal. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the use of the Recipcoal Teaching Strategy on the learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN cluster 6 Pesisir Selatan. The type of research is quantitative research in the form of quasi-experimental design research using the non-equivalent control group design. The research was conducted at SDN 04 Pasar Taluk and SDN 22 Pasar Taluk. Sample data collection was carried out using the cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used is in the form of an objective test in the form of multiple choice. The data analysis technique used is t-test. Based on the results of the pretest obtained, the experimental class that applied the Reciprocal Teaching Strategy was 54.37 and the average posttest was 78.22 while the learning in the Control class using the conventional approach had an average pretest learning outcome of 53.89 and an average posttest of 68.41 Based on the hypothesis test carried out with the t-test obtained by calculating the ttable > which was 3.43 > 2,000 real level 0.05 It can be concluded that the Reciprocal Teaching Strategy has an effect on the results Students learn in integrated thematic learning in elementary school.

Abstract

This research to analyze the availability of educational facilities and human resources (HR) in Elementary Schools (SD) in Padang Utara District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The research method used was descriptive with total sampling from 34 elementary schools in Padang Utara District. Primary data was obtained from the school concerned, while secondary data was obtained from supporting documents and literature. Data analysis was carried out through needs fulfillment analysis and descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that the availability of educational facilities in Padang Utara District elementary schools is included in the sufficient category, with the majority of elementary schools having adequate classrooms, laboratories, libraries and fields. However, IT facilities are still very minimal with only 4 elementary schools having them. Apart from that, the number of teachers in each elementary school in Padang Utara District is sufficient, and some schools even have excess teachers compared to standard requirements. This research concludes that although the availability of facilities and human resources at Padang Utara District Elementary School is quite adequate, there are still several areas that require improvement, especially in IT facilities to support a more effective learning process.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of Instagram @infounp utilization on user satisfaction of students of the Department of Information and Library Science, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Padang State University. This study consists of two variables, namely the Instagram utilization variable (X) with indicators of informative motives, educational motives, and entertainment motives and the user satisfaction variable (Y) with indicators of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents via Google Form. The population in this study were all Instagram followers @infounp. The data analysis technique used is the normality test and the 't' hypothesis test. Based on the results of the 't' test, it is known that the Instagram utilization variable (X) has an influence on user satisfaction (Y). This is based on the calculation that tcount 9.230> ttable 1.984. Then, the results also show that the utilization of Instagram @infounp is categorized as good so that it gives satisfaction to student users who are in the very good category.
