Terbatasnya lapangan kerja yang tersedia tidak seimbang dengan jumlah angkatan kerja yang setiap tahun bertambah sehingga berdampak pada tingginya jumlah pengangguran. Untuk itu perlu diberikan pendidikan dan keterampilan pada generasi muda. Perencanaan dan pengembangan generasi muda hendaknya disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan akan tenaga kerja serta kesempatan dan lapangan kerja yang tersedia kemudian sistem yang efektif yang dapat menunjangnya. Salah satu upaya meningkatkan keterampilan generasi muda di kelurahan Aur Duri adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kompetensi langsung kepada generasi muda. Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk melatih generasi muda yang ada di kelurahan Aur Duri dalam bidang kompetensi dasar pengelasan. Kegaitan pelatihan dilakukan dengan metode demonterasi dan projek based leasrnig. Demonterasi dilakukan oleh instuktur bersertifikasi pengelasan. Pelatihan kompetensi dasar pengelasan diikuti oleh 15 orang peserta. Peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti peltihan. Peserta yang dianggap sudah mahir diberikan sertifikat yang menjelaskan bahwa peserta tersebut mampu menguasi kompetensi pengelasan dengan baik. Kegiatan ini mampu memberikan bekal kepada generasi muda putus sekolah untuk memasuki dunia kerja ataupun berwirausaha

Bawang merah merupakan salah satu komoditas pertanian yang banyak dihasilkan di Indonesia. Salah satu daerah dengan hasil panen bawang merah yang cukup tinggi adalah Kenagarian Talang Babungo, Kabupaten Solok, Sumatra Barat. Saat ini, sudah mulai berkembang pengusaha-pengusaha berskala mikro dalam memproduksi makanan olahan bawang merah, yaitu bawang merah goreng. Hal ini telah menjadi salah satu sumber mata pencarian masyarakat di daerah tersebut. Bawang merah goreng menunjukkan potensi yang besar sebagai produk olahan pertanian dengan nilai jual yang tinggi. Selain itu, bawang merah goreng sangat populer di kalangan masyarakat karena keefektifan dan kekhasan cita rasanya. Namun, proses pembuatan bawang merah goreng di Kenagarian Talang Babungo masih dilakukan secara manual dan menggunakan alat sederhana. Sehingga, hal ini mengakibatkan rendahnya produktivitas kerja dan produk yang dihasilkan. Oleh karena itu, Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Padang memberikan solusi kepada pengusaha bawang merah dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat. Tim Pengabdian merancang dan menyediakan mesin pengiris bawang merah melalui penggunaan teknologi tepat guna. Mesin pengiris bawang merah dirancang dengan menggunakan teknologi sederhana dan sistem operasional yang mudah digunakan. Mesin pengiris bawang dirancang menggunakan penggerak motor listrik dengan kapasitas produksi yang cukup besar, yaitu 20–30 kg/jam. Selain itu, mesin pengiris bawang merah memiliki keunggulan dalam pengaturan ketebalan pemotongan bawang merah yang dikehendaki. Diharapkan, melalui penyediaan mesin pengiris bawang merah yang inovatif tersebut akan mampu meningkatkan produktivitas kerja pengusaha bawang merah di Kenagarian Talang Babungo dengan estimasi ± 400% peningkatan hasil produksi dibandingkan dengan metode pengirisan secara manual. Hal ini juga akan mendorong peningkatan roda ekonomi dan kesejahteraan masyarakat setempat.

Every type of fluid to be transferred has specific characteristics such as viscosity, density, friction, and others, thus requiring the selection of the appropriate pump type. One of the factors influencing the performance of a centrifugal pump is the number of blades used. This research aims to explore the influence of the number of blades on a centrifugal pump used as a fluid transfer device for crude oil. The study was conducted using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. The analyzed variations of the number of blades included three options, namely centrifugal pumps with 12, 14, and 16 blades. Based on the simulation results conducted using Solidworks Research License 2021-2022 software, it was found that the centrifugal pump with 12 blades exhibited the most optimal performance. The simulation results show uniform flow and pressure around the mid-span plane of the 12-blade impeller. In the case of the 12-blade impeller, the flow thrown by the centrifugal force is concentrated in the middle of the channel towards the outlet, resulting in higher pressure and volume flow rates.

The purpose of this research is to design oil drying machine in nurts eggs to get the result of working drawing and to determine the peanut dryer component. The concept of planning oil drying machine in nurts eggss is by conducting a direct survey of the egg industry, the problems arise still high levels of oil in manually dried peanuts, then carry out the design concept. Based on the concept, then designed a design drawing. The result of this final task is in the form of design or design of oil oven dryers that utilize centrifugal force for drying oil, oil stainless steel rotary tube components, stainless steel container tube with stainless steel , axle components to support tubes of 22mm diameter and 520mm length, pulleys with a 3/6 ratio as a rotary reducer of an electric motor of 0.5 HP 1400 rpm to 500 rpm. Frame profile machine L 40 x 40 x 4 mm 42 st material and engine components made by Fernando Ferry from material st 37.

Based on previous research conducted by Purwantono about the utilization of exhaust flow from a conventional cross-flow turbine prototype that was used as an inlet of tubin Kaplan [1]. This research was carried out to see how the exhaust flow velocity of each tubin before and after was combined into one combination turbine. This numerical based study uses the Ansys 18.0 application by inputting a 3D design from a conventional turbine prototype which was used as the material for this study. The results obtained in this study show the average of outlet velocity in the Kaplan turbine that uses a velocity outlet from a cross flow turbine of 0.3 m / s greater when it is combined, which is 8.33 m / s and after being combined to 0.38 m / s. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of conventional turbines later

Solar power is a renewable energy that can replace oil fuel as the main energy of the ship. The use of fuel oil can worsen the environment in the Maninjau lake tourism area. This paper aims to develop a ship propulsion design using solar power with the main size of the WL bilge Length 367.33 cm, Width (B) 170 cm, Height (H) 70 cm, Draught (T) 30.7 cm. To produce the power needed at a speed of 6 knots, using the method of theoretical analysis by counting, total energy and solar panels to convert sunlight into electrical energy. The result of calculating the total energy needed to reach 6 knots is 0.932 kW. The solar panels needed to produce the power are 4 pieces with a capacity of 100 Wp. This system does not use an inverter because it uses a DC electric motor as a vessel driver. The design of a solar-powered boat can be an option for the community as an environmentally friendly tourist ship without fuel.

Maninjau lake uses ships designed in a simple way without significant innovation from time to time. This case is caused by design methods that are based on hereditary knowledge from generations to generations, so that the ships that are made tend to have the same shape and size. Innovation is needed to get a higher level of efficiency and effectiveness on a ship. The innovation that needs to be done is the design of ships with a multi-hull shape or catamaran. The pre-design of the catamaran hull is based on using the comparation method as the dimension ratio of the ship, so that the dimensions of the ship are LWL = 4 m; LPP = 3.96 m; B = 1.7 m; B1 = 0.36 m; D = 0.7 m; d = 0.307 m. After that, testing the resistance (resistance) while determining the amount of Power needed. The next step is to analyze Stability and Seakeeping to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of the hull type. Analysis carried out on this type of hull was applied to several models, then the best hull design was found. Each design is distinguished by hull shape, but has the same displacement which is equal to 0.448 tons. The first model of the catamaran hull with the type of Flat Inside Symmetry; second with the type of symmetry Flat Outside; and the third type with gastric Asymmetry.

The problem with partners is drop out youth who do not have competence. The condition of the community dropping out of school and working as unskilled labourers has an impact on the low level of public welfare. The distance between the Dharmasraya district and the provincial capital has an impact on the contrast of the quality of education carried out which causes the community to not understand the importance of education. So that some of the human resources in Dharmasraya have become manual labourers in plantations and factories. The purpose of implementing this service activity is to provide a solution to the problems faced by the community, especially for school dropouts. Most of the dropout youths who are junior high school (SMP) level do not have special competencies that make them have added value. The work carried out by this young man is only limited to gardening and does not guarantee economic prosperity. Through this service activity, TIM strives to provide competency in the welding field that can be used to open a business that is much needed by the community. The training activities were designed for 3 days which will be held from October 12 to October 14 2018. The speakers in this activity were Drs. Purwantono, M.Pd, who has a BNSP level I welding certificate and the second speaker is Junil Adri, M.Pd.T who has a BNSP level III welding certificate. On the first day, the speaker will convey the basic concepts in the welding process and demonstrate how to make weld grooves and connect the plate in the welding process. On the second day, the speakers began to invite participants to design products that could be made through welding activities in accordance with the needs of the community. In this activity, TIM directed to make a trellis fence. TEAM began to guide participants in the process of making a trellis. On the third day, the TEAM provided direction on how to weld entrepreneurial opportunities in the field. The chairperson of the service with TIM asked the kenagarian to be able to accommodate the birth of new entrepreneurs for youth who could make independent and productive people.

This study aims to examine the performance of pico hydro scale cross flow water turbines using multilevel double penstock as a conductor of water flow. Multilevel double penstock is used to reduce the transportation process from highways that are affordable to four-wheeled vehicles / cars to the location of the installation of the turbine. This condition causes the need for small-scale water turbine designs with lightweight construction with a kock down system. Overall the picohidro scale turbine construction is needed relatively cheaper transportation costs, so that people who have not been reached by the PLN network can be touched by small and cheap electricity. Turbine construction data has a runner diameter of 170 mm, body dimensions 200 mm x 300 mm x 250 mm, frame 250 mm x 800 mm. Pool tando 600 mm x 1200 mm and penstock length 16m. The power produced is theoretically around 2500 watts, with a data flow of 50 liters / second and a water level of 8 m. 65% efficiency. The research method is analyzing the double penstock water flow, by making paralon pipes in stages, ranging from 5 incci diameter, 4 inches and 3 inches, flow analysis approach using a gradient line, where the incoming water velocity and water velocity come out until entering the transmitting pipe. The performance results of this turbine provide an average actual power of up to 2000 watts. The stability of the inlet water condition is used by the Tando pond as a water bath. If there is excess water in the sediment tank, the water gate is used out, where excess water will automatically flow into the exhaust channel.

This study aims to observe the amount of deviation that occurs due to the influence of spring back on the forming process. spring back in question is the back force when the plate undergoes a forming process, but when the load is released, the plate condition will reverse or return to its initial condition. This reversal is due to the factor of the elasticity of the material that is owned. Other factors that influence the bending process include thickness, width, angle of bending and others. object of this research is a sheet metal plate with a thickness of 1 mm - 4 mm. Forming process is done by bending process. This bending process is widely used in the plate forming process, namely to bend the sides of the plate to make it stiffer. This bending process is carried out in cold conditions where the process is carried out at room temperature. This research was conducted by preparing slices of the same width and length and then the process of bending them to form an angle of 20 ° to 120 °. results of this test indicate that the thicker the bent material has the tendency to produce small deviations. This means that the value of the spring back ratio also decreases. The value of the spring back ratio in this study ranges from 1% to 9%. This means that if the bending process is carried out on a steel plate with the resulting bending angle of 90 °, the bending angle of the shoe must be more than 90 °, the excess is 1 ° - 9 °. So that when the load is released, the position of the susdut bends closer to 90 °.
