Abstract

The world tourism has tended to go in the direction natural tourism (Back to Nature) such as Adventure Tourism, Golf, Marine Tourism, Wellness Tourism (Spa) and Ecotourism. One of the special interest tourism that develops today is Ecotourism at central Mount Batur Kintamani District- Bangli. The region has developed well because all parties always support the development and marketing that it makes quite an impact on social life, economy, culture, and environment. The theory used was a theory on destination area lifecycle supported by several concepts such as sustainable tourism and Ecotourism and the data was analyzed qualitatively. The result shows that the local people got involved in the planning, implementation, and management of the ecotourism businesses in which they can derive additional benefit in addition to farming and tilapia fish farming. A tree planting program was also undertaken by non-government organizations. The Department of Forestry has also assigned forest police officers to stand by.

Abstract

Hotel Santika Premiere Beach Resort provided education and training to all employees to improve their performance. Through education and training, it is expected to able to improve the employees’ performance in terms of their quality of service. To analyze the influence of education and training, an analysis on the effectiveness of education and training needed to be conducted. From the analysis, it was found that the percentage of the employees’ performance was 58,4%. The result indicated that aducation and training had an influence on the performance of the employees.

Abstract

Bajra Sandhi Monument was built in 1987 and inaugurated in 2003 by Megawati Sukarno Putri, Indonesian Republic President.  The name of Bajra Sandi is taken from the form of building, it’s a bell of Hindu’s priest which used to complete the mantram when the priest carry out the ceremony. It’s an attractive tourist attraction located in the centre of Denpasar city as a place of historical tourism product of Balinese history. The aim of this research is to find out the role of Bajra Sandhi as tourist attraction in Denpasar City’s Tour Itinerary. The research was conduct by applying descriptive qualitative analysis approach. In this research involve 26 samples, the students of Tour and Tourism, Diploma III, Tourism Department, Bali State Polytechnic. Data were obtained through two type of instruments such as; questionnaire and document. The result of the research were: 0.58 of samples/students said strongly agree that Bajra Sandhi as an interesting historical tourism product, 0.71 of samples/students said strongly agree that Bajra Sandhi as tourism product of character building, which is able to build rhe character of visitors/tourists commonly and Balinese specifically, and 0.64 of samples/students said strongly agree that Bajra Sandhi as suitable choice for a destination point put it on in Denpasar City’s Tour Itinerary.

Abstract

Bali is the common destination for foreign traveller as well as domestic traveller. The number of domestic traveller gives the economic impact for each country and multiplier effect. Therefore, the domestic traveller has the essence to analyse for this research. The purposes of this research are: (1) to analyse the perception of domestic traveller related to the tourism circumstances in Bali; (2) and to analyse the correlation between the social economic and demography of the domestic traveller’s variable with the own perception related to the tourism circumstances in Bali.In order to achieve the purpose of this research, sampling is done located at departure gate in Ngurah Rai Airport by using domestic traveller’s departure from Bali as respondent. Respondent is done by non-probability sampling method and direct questionnaire to be fulfilled by domestic traveller. There are 150 respondents that used to interview by accidental sampling method. There are two variables that are used to analyse the tourism circumstance in Bali that are physics and service. Some approaches are used in analysing data, which are to analyse the traveller’s perception domestic related to the tourism circumstances in Bali by descriptive aspect and to analyse the correlation between the social economic and demography of domestic traveller’s variable with the own perception related to the tourism circumstances in Bali by chi-square method.Based on the result analyses, there are six variables of adequate perception from seventeen variables of the tourism circumstance in Bali, i.e. the cleanliness of public area, the cleanliness of tourist object, the quality of transportation, reasonable price, reasonable quality of services and the quality of servicing trader, while the other variables gets better perception. The correlation between the social economy and demography of the domestic traveller’s variable with the own perception related to the tourism circumstances in Bali gets insignificant correlation, except the residence of the domestic traveller’s variable. Refer to the analysing result; it is important to optimize the cleanliness of public facilities, cleanliness at tourist attraction, quality of transportation facilities, and quality of services.

Abstract

This paper presents the study of cultural expressions in relation to developing effective  communication in hospitality industry with a theoritical approach proposed by Wierzbicka (1996: 443) who states that linguistic routines are expressions which occur in more or less predictable environments and in specific social situations or in particular types of interaction. Moreover, a theory of sociography of talking proposed by Laba (2012:70-71) who argues that cross-culture communication in social interactions is influenced by and integrated into seven communication components including target, argument, language, knowledge, interlocutors, natural setting and general convention. The research method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative using ethnography approach involving social and cultural practices (Estes, 2007: 171; Bungin, 2008:23; Moleong, 2011:24-26). The discussion shows that cultural expressions is indeed an integral part of any communication, i.e. different gratitude expressions occur in social interactions influenced by the natural setting of the interlocutors’ culture and knowledge which is conceptualized in communication triangle. In Bali, this natural setting is better known as Desa (place), Kala (time) and Patra (norm) which strongly influence the communication act of the interlocutors. In order to develop more effective communication in hospitality industry, cultural expressions and the concept of communication triangle should be considered comprehensively.

Abstract

The purpose of river toward human’s life is obvious since many history of humanity milestone explained in the river area. Nowadays, some rivers in Indonesia polluted because mostly waste issue, namely Badung River. Some efforts have been attempted by the government to arrange the surrounded area of Badung River. However, the result has not met the expectation since the solution still found its weakness and challenges. The aims of this research to understand the policy of Denpasar city and the implementation of Badung River’s arrangement as an attraction in Denpasar city. Badung river arrangement and management determines environment conservation in building a sustainable development toward local community empowerment. Therefore, after the well management, government assumes the balance life or harmony in life is obtained based on its local genious. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative to describe social phenomenons. Collecting data utilize some methods such as observation, documentation and depth-interview with stakeholders. Pre-assumption of the community shows government policy regarding river arrangement has been well-managed, as it is seen from the policy implementation in arrangement in surround area of Badung River. Nevertheless, to optimize the Badung river development should begin from the change of human lifestyle in local community surround the Badung river area. Keywords: attraction, government policy, river

Abstract

This study aims to identify the quality of marine tourism products which are limited to indicators of Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancilary on Tanjung Benoa marine tourism destinations, knowing the socio-demographic conditions of tourists who come to Tanjung Benoa marine tourism destinations, as well as contributing marine tourism development strategies in Tanjung Benoa. Based on the purpose of this study, several theories, concepts and literature studies referred to this study include the concept of tourism, marine tourism, product quality (tourist attraction), product development. Meanwhile, the research method that used in this study was descriptive analysis about the conditions of Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancilary in marine tourism on the Tanjung Benoa beach. Direct observation and distribution of questionnaire for the tourists in the Tanjung Benoa area was carried out to directly assess the object of research at this location. The analysis of secondary data consist of the number and condition of facilities and infrastructure assessed from the perception of tourists. As the result of the problem formulation in this study, it could be obtained the data or information about the condition of attraction quality, amenities and activities in Tanjung Tanjung Benoa marine tourism, and contributes to the development strategy of the tourism area. The results of this study could be used to develop marine tourism in the Tanjung Benoa tourist area which is expected to be a quality and sustainable marine tourism area. Keywords: Marine Tourism, Quality of tourist attraction, Development potential

Abstract

The objective of this study are to encounter the level of Balinese labor motivation for working in Disney Cruise Line, determine the difference motivation for them who have not worked at the other cruise line company and who have experienced at cruise line before to work in Disney Cruise Line and also investigate the factors which motivate Balinese Labors for working in Disney Cruise Line. The factors in this study are working condition, compensation, company policy, change to have promotion and acknowledgement. In this research, there were 150 respondents selected as a sample using purposive sampling method. The instrument used is questionnaire data analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis and determinant analysis with SPSS program version 20.0. The findings of this research are the level of Balinese labor motivation to work in Disney Cruise Line  generally in average level, there are differences motivation between Balinese labor who have not worked at the other cruise line company and who have experienced at cruise line before to work in Disney Cruise Line in which the motivation level of inexperienced Balinese labors is higher than experienced ones, and the five factors in this study have their own influence to labors motivation, but the most strong factor is working condition factor and the weakest one is opportunity to have promotion.  Key Words: Working Motivation, Balinese Labors Cruise Ship

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to determine the community's perception of the development of Pelaga Tourism Village. This study uses a qualitative method which is a method that is descriptive in nature, and more displays the process of meaning. Data collection techniques using in-depth interview techniques with informants sourced from local communities. The results of his research stated that people's perception of the development of Pelaga Tourism Village was quite good. However, there are some public perceptions that stated that they were not yet optimistic, especially the impact of the development of Pelaga Tourism Village on social culture and the environment. Pelaga Tourism Village Development still has a lot of negative impacts. Keywords: tourism village, society, perception

Abstract

ABSTRACTPuputan Badung Park is a green open space located in the centre of Denpasar. The presence of street vendors (PKL) in Puputan Badung Park becomes a particular attraction for local tourists visiting or doing their leisure activity. However, the existence of street vendors sometimes becomes dilemma for the city government. This street vendors sometimes cause pros and cons between citizens and officers. To anticipate this situation, Denpasar city government issued a regulation. This research aims to assess and analyze empirically the impact of the Local Regulation “PERDA” No. 2 Year 2015 of the selling’s prohibition for street vendors (PKL) in city park and in public places towards the interest of local tourists visiting Puputan Badung Park. This research is using positivism paradigm with quantitative data analysis. The X variable is the impact of local regulation “PERDA” No.2 Year 2015, and the Y variable is the local tourist interest visiting Puputan Badung Park. The result shows the relation between X and Y with a significance level of 0.008.
