Abstract

The study aim is to design and develop the Balinese cooking and language class as a tourism attraction of special interest in Bedulu, Gianyar Bali to create an atmosphere that is really close to Balinese culture, in turn will create a travel experience which is more experimental and memorable for the visitors. All Balinese ingredients will be introduced in Balinese language. The urgency of this study are as follows: (1) there is potential in Bedulu village as a tourism attraction that is unique and leads to special interest destination through some of the cultural heritage and beauty of nature, (2) the cooking class that has been presented needs to be developed further so that the visitors can obtained a travel experience which is more experimental and memorable through the participation of local community, (3) the geographical location of Bedulu village which can be positioned as the area of special interest tourism destination of educational and cultural.  This research method is Design and Development Research. This study is to design and develop sistematically from the process of designing and developing the Balinese cooking by introducing several Balinese terminologies in cooking. The Balinese cooking class should be designed and developed by considering the hygiene and sanitation standards, health and benefit.

Abstract

Tourism is believed to deliver both positive and negative impact. This phenomenon occurs in one of the indigenous villages of Baduy tribes, where the village is “isolated” from modern development of urban areas. This study used several variables that written in an interview manuscript, created based on some literatures about indigenous tourism product development; tourism impact perspective, and tourists motivation. The data have been collected are then combined using two approaches both quantitative and qualitative or known as a “multi-method”. Data obtained through questionnaires was presented by the chart (in the form of quantitative), and described into a sentence. While the interview data will be put into the interview manuscript, which subsequently combined with the results of questionnaires and observations. This study found that the Baduy village has a variety of potential that can be packaged as a tourism product, such as: have the cultural and natural attractions that still maintained its authenticity, a location away from the frenetic urban communities began receiving tourism activities. Surveys in this study also found that, variables such as cultural tourism products, local communities and nature is considered very important and can attract urban travelers. This is evidenced by the results of the questionnaire, where tourists visiting Baduy village, dominated by teenagers who mostly still a student and travel in groups. While the motivation of their visit was mostly to leisure in a way out of the urban routine. The effects of tourism activities on the socio-cultural environment, the economy and the environment have not seen significantly. Advice and feedback to the Baduy Tourism Village are to strengthen the rules and regulations village environment so as to anticipate the changes that can occur if the pressure changes constantly occur tourism at the Tourism Village Baduy. In addition, increase the role of local communities should also be improved by involving the community in organizations such as the travel conscious group.

Abstract

Tourism has very important role to face AEC era, which began in 2015. Indonesia has had an agreement to ratify the globalization of labor markets through the WTO since 1994 and in 1999 declared himself in G20 membership. Many foreign investors invest their shares in Bali, it makes local people less motivated to open the field of employment. It urged a challenge for tourism human resourcse in Bali. Certification of competence for tourism human resources to face AEC is very important and essential. Tourism competency certification program that has been created by the government should be utilized maximally either by assessors in tourism or tourism human resources in Bali. The position of top managers at star-rated hotels in Bali which has been widely taken by foreign human resources, will be taken over by local tourism human resources in Baliwhich have the compentecy certification. It will be happened if the human resorces competency meets the criteria of competence that requisited by the management.

Abstract

Many new establishments of tour travel in Bali that their target market is tourists from Germany affecting a competitive business among those tour and travel agency. The impact is reducing amount of German tourists using the service of tour travel which directly affecting the intensity of work of Germany tour guide. Therefore, there is a demand for the tour guides who work at tour travel agency to work more professional to face the competitiveness among themselves. This research is aimed to describe and analyze the problem of demand of professional work by Germany tour guide who work at the tour travel establishment in Badung regency, in this global era. Some theories used to support this research such as the hegemony theory, social practical theory, and communicative act eclecticly theory. The demand for working professionally in this global era means of the need to force themselves as the Germany tour guide in completing their job. On the other hands, the tour guide should add their knowledge of Germany language, as well as knowledge of guiding.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of restaurant and bar cashier and front office cashier service on customer satisfaction. The research method used was Non Probability Sampling technique by using Accidental Sampling as the sampling method. The research was conducted in four and five star hotels in Badung regency, period of 1 September until 1 October 2015. Data collection techniques used were interview, observation, and literature study. Meanwhile, descriptive and multiple linear regression were used as data analysis technique. The result showed that the restaurant and bar cashier and front office cashier service quality had a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction.With the regression equation is: Customer Satisfaction = 9,947 - 0,193 KKD + 0,314 KRB + e, or can be interpreted that if the independent variable was considered fixed, then the consumer satisfaction would increase 9.947. If the front office cashier service was increased by one unit, then the consumer satisfaction would l increase by 0.187 units. If the restaurant and bar cashier service was increased by one unit, then the consumer satisfaction would increase by 0.314 units.

Abstract

Trends of Information System affect the tourism industry. This fact showed by the utilization of information and communication technology used in the tourism industry. In the 1960s Flight Industry (Airlines) introduced the Central Reservation system. The mid-1990s tourism information system developed into a destination management system (DMS). The system was developed to provide information about tourism product to the tourist and used to find out the number of visitors. With this data, the destination management organization can make efforts to attract more visitors to come to the tourism destination Sanur is a one tourism destination that located in Bali Island. Geographically the sanur tourism destination is located in the southern part of the island of Bali. Administratively, sanur is a kelurahan in Denpasar Sub district, Denpasar municipality area. The main attraction of Sanur is the natural form of beaches along approximately 7 km from the start of the Matahari Terbit beach to the Mertasari Beach. Sanur Tourism Area is an area that is growing very rapidly. The growth of sanur area needs to be followed by good management to avoid exploitation of the Area.Good management requires valid and complete data to be able to make the right decision for  developing of sanur tourism area. In the management of tourist areas, obtaining valid data is not an easy job, because it involves many parties and data changes fast enough. To obtain a valid data need a Information system, so that data can be kept updated continuously.This article discusses the analysis of information system needs for sanur destination management. The discussion in this article aims to find the concept of information systems needed. The method used in data collection is interview and observation method. Data were analyzed by using linear and hierarchy technique with 6 stages.The results of this discussion is a concept of information systems with databases to be able to provide the data as a needed of the management sanur tourism area.

Abstract

Community based Tourism paradigm as a concept of alternative tourism has been able to provide generalization to community prosperity or development towards sustainable tourism. In relation to this paradigm, this study was conducted to analyze the management system in Pinge village in terms of operational, marketing, community participant and the impacts of rural tourism development in Pinge village. The approach used in this research was qualitative descriptive. Techniques of collecting data were through interviewing with community leaders and conducting field observations. From the result of study, it was found that the management of Pinge village has strengthens such as a good package of tourism products, a good relationship between travel agents, government and good support from the community. Furthermore, the weaknesses are the lack of promotion media and limited of professional human resources. The result of this study is expected as a reference study in rural tourism development in Pinge village through controlling the negative impacts from this tourism destination development.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe the visitors experience during their visit to ‘The Pura Puseh Batuan’ as tourist destination in Gianyar, Bali regency on, and was to describe the management of ‘The Pura Puseh Batuan’ temple as one of cultural tourist attractions in Gianyar, Bali The theoretical review is perception theoretical review is based on costumer’s experience that refers to the seven of variables such as hedonism, novelty, local culture, refreshment, meaningfulness, involvement, and knowledge.This study used primer data with the survey method by interviewing the personals who manage ‘The Pura Puseh Batuan’ and by using the questioners which were obtained from the visitor through the sampling of quota were 60 respondents.  By using the class of interval technique would be obtained mean, it would show each variable level was studied and score to deviation standard.The result of this studied showed that there were two variables, Hedonism and Novelty which obtained poor score to its indicators with mean of 1.0.   The visitors did not feel getting involved in these activities, this means they did not obtain interesting experience.  The score of the variables such as local culture, refreshment, meaningfulness, and knowledge had 3.23 score in average category, for the involvement variable had good category was 3.49. The deviation standard of all variable had the score under 1 (one) which showed the data score clustered around average or mean and had a low deviation of mean.The implication of this study positively would be responded by the management of “The Pura Puseh Batuan’ to improve their tourist attraction by giving priority to the values of the temple as an entity which is sanctified by Hindus people on Bali.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the English speaking skill of servers at Lakeview Restaurant-Kintamani, Bali in serving food and beverage orders, and focused on serving “A’la carte menu” orders. The problems of speaking in English often faced by servers are less confident talking to guests when handling them during breakfast, lunch or dinner. This case may be resulted by thinking of the grammatical correctness and the social functions of the sentence that we say should be done spontaneously.The results of this study would give the contribution to servers in order to improve the English speaking skills in serving food and beverage orders. Secondly, for the restaurant management in considering the policy of self-development of the servers to improve English speaking ability so that can consider the promotion policy for the servers who have speaking English skill well, and the last, the English lecturers at tourism colleges in developing approaches, methods and techniques of teaching English for communication and English for Specific Purpose (ESP).This study used a qualitative descriptive method to describe English speaking skill of 20 servers by evaluating language aspects in speaking such as the pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension in serving food and beverage orders of “A’la carte menu”.             Evidently, all the respondents do not have poor of English speaking skills.75% respondents has good category, 35% respondents has excellent category, and 10% has average category of English speaking skills. Based on the research, it was known that the characteristics of the sample can be fulfilled as required in the methodology of this study.

Abstract

Policy of Government through Circular Minister of Administrative and Beraucratic Reform No. 11/2014 contains a ban on the whole range of civil state apparatus governance activities outside government agencies apply from Desember 1, 2014 alarmed hospitality businesses. Chariman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (IHRA) Wiryanti Sukamdani recognize this policy has had an impact on revenue of the hotel. If the hotel continued to decline, will possibly be happen of Termination of Employment.Employment synonymous with career opportunities. Orientation of hospitality students can be ascertained by majoriy is looking for a job after graduation, when the availiability of jobs in particular field is getting narrower, it is fear will affect the interest of students for career in th hospitality field. This research aims to examine and analyze empirically the effect of the impact of government policy through Circular Letter of Minister of PAN and RB no. 11 of 2014 on the prohibiton of carrying out activities for government personnel outside the government agencies against the interest of student majoring in hospitality School of Tourism Bali International for career in the field of hospitality.Result of the research concludes that impact of government policy on Circular Letter of Minister of PAN and RB no 11 of 2014 negatively affect the interests of student for career in the hospitality field is not proven true, in this case indicates that the interests of students the School of Tourism Bali International (STPBI) for career in the hospitality affected bu the impact of government policies is significantly positive
