Abstract

This paper is about the existence of the small, the simple or the marginalized in contemporary politics. "Philosophizing Politics" means searching or exploring the values of political wisdom that is not only the elite, rich, or high educational background but also the small people also have a place to play politics properly. This paper aims to analyze how the existence of small, simple or marginalized people succeeds in the political system in Indonesia. The existence of the marhaen in Indonesia seems to be considered starting to retreat, which has an impact on the arrogance of the marhaen of the elite, rich or high education background, and there is a tendency to negate others as secondary subjects. The attitude of arrogance and the tendency to negate others is a habit or even a culture of authority applied by some or a group of people to cultivate an arrogant and apathetic attitude towards mutually agreed rules which then negate others as secondary subjects such as seeing the most dominant group, derivative, tribe, or culture. The method used in this paper is qualitative research by means of a literature study sourced from the book Political Philosophy coupled with other sources such as books and scientific articles from journals that support this paper.The result found in this paper is that the existence of the marhaen or the small, simple or marginalized people in Indonesia is considered not to have a strong basis of authority from its basis, a culture of arrogance, apathy towards rules, and a tendency to negate others as the second subject is considered weak in politics. This is due to its human resources who are less aware of the true and precise meaning of "political wisdom y", thus making the existence of the marhaen experience a setback. The lack of understanding of the meaning of politics, the existence of the marhaen. in the case of negating the marhaen in contemporary politics in Indonesia is the main reason why "the small, the simple or the marginalized in Indonesia are considered not to have a strong basis of authority from their basis in politics" get attention and a decent and balanced place in politics.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find a model of communication philosophy as a form of relevance to the discourse of ontology, epistemology and axiology. This research uses a qualitative method using a library study approach that uses books or literature as the main source. The library references in the form of books which are primary sources in this research are first, a book entitled On the Philosophy of Communication 1st Edition by Garry Rafford, second, a book entitled Aristotle's Physics Book VIII. The results of this research are a communication philosophy model divided into three sub-models, namely a communication ontology model which is concise about what the formal and material objects of communication science are, a communication epistemology model which discusses how humans acquire knowledge in communication studies and a communication axiology model which focuses on questions regarding what and how the values contained in the messages exchanged in the communication process between the communicator and the communicant.

Abstract

This paper analyses the conflict between Israel and Palestine with the philosophical approach of Armada Riyanto's Philosophy of Relationality. The author emphasizes the dimension of humanity and its alterity in the conflict. From the perspective of Relationality philosophy, it is shown how this war reflects egoism that reduces the value of humanity. The egoism that exists in this conflict, both from Israel and Hamas, overrides the existence of human beings who are also present on the conflicting parties, often sacrificing civilians, including women and children. The concept of human alterity and the meaning of 'the Other', who is an equal subject in relationality, is clarified in relation to this conflict. How the Other or the 'third person' is victimized in this conflict is also a major concern. This paper proposes a more humane resolution to the conflict, which relies not only on political resolutions but also on international awareness of the importance of seeing humans as equal subjects. Empathetic and relationality are key in defusing conflicts and building a paradigm that is more in line with humanity.

Abstract

If philosophy is linked to a religious dimension, it will be different from pure philosophy. In Hinduism, religious philosophical views are called darsana. Religious adherents have indeed become more reluctant to express prejudice against religious philosophical views. Because it is believed that these views come from God and are holy. If humans underestimate it, they are threatened with sin. Character actually comes from religious and philosophical views. However, in its development, there has been a tendency for character to be portrayed as practical action. When someone does not show appropriate behavior, they are seen as having low character. However, there is a gap in behavior that is conditioned in such a way as false character. In fact, genuine character is rooted in noble thoughts. If this is understood, then there will no longer be a rigid boundary between thinkers and doers. Because behavior without careful thought is just a pretense. Meanwhile, thoughts without proper behavior are also useless. Complete Hindus, study darsana and apply it to praiseworthy actions. The aim of this research is to examine the philosophical principles of Hindu character in Nyaya Darsana. This research method is qualitative because it is non-numerical. The results of this research are that in Nyaya Darsana, God becomes the highest model of character, the word becomes the religious basis for character, budhi as the ideal basis for character, and pravrtti and karma as the basis for virtuous action. The conclusion of this research is that there are complete moral principles in Nyaya Darsana.

Abstract

The wayang stories hold profound spiritual meaning in Javanese culture, one of which is the story of Dewa Ruci. This narrative depicts Bima's spiritual journey in his quest for the essence of life and enlightenment. Utilizing textual analysis and symbolism, this study examines the dimensions of spirimality embedded within the Dewa Ruci tale, including ethical values, philosophy, and spiritual teachings that remain relevant to modern life. Throughout his jourmey, Bima encounters various obstacles that represent humanity arch for truth and wisdom. Through his encounter with Dewa Ruci, he gains a deep understanding of the relationship berween humans, the universe,and the Divine. This research highlighrs the symbolic meaning of the story and how its teachings can inspire contemporary sociery. Consequentty, the Dewa Ruci tale is not merely a culural heritage but also a profound reflection of humanity's quest for spiritual fulfillment and the pursuit of a meaningful life.

Abstract

Nyuh Madan is a fundamental component in various Hindu rituals in Bali, serving not only as a ritualistic object but also as a profound symbolic medium. This article explores the ontological and cosmological dimensions of Nyuh Madan within the framework of Balinese Hindu philosophy. Employing a symbolic hermeneutic approach and reflective analysis of sacred texts and local ritual practices, this study reveals that the physical structure of Nyuh Madan represents key ontological concepts and the cosmological order. Its components—outer husk, coir, shell, water, and the eye of the coconut—symbolize the Panca Mahabhuta elements and the Tri Loka hierarchy, illustrating the interconnectedness between the macrocosm and the microcosm. The symbolism of Nyuh Madan affirms its role not merely as a ritual offering but as a spiritual conduit bridging the human and transcendent realms. Hence, a deeper appreciation of this symbol reinforces the unity of ritual, cosmological awareness, and dharmic values in Balinese Hindu life.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between tourism and social justice based on the Capability Approach developed by Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum. The research employed an interpretive qualitative method, using data collection techniques such as literature review, document comparison, and case study analysis. Primary data sources consisted of key literature exploring the philosophical concepts of both thinkers, as well as works related to the philosophy of tourism. Secondary data sources included tourism-related data obtained from online sources. The results of the study indicate the existence of access and capabilities in tourism, along with opportunities and challenges, both in enhancing and limiting the capabilities of individuals and communities, particularly in relation to the natural environment, socio-cultural aspects, the economy, and human resources. Criticisms regarding the limitations of surveys and measurements also emerged from the analysis of documents and case studies. These critiques aim to guide tourism studies, from planning stages through to evaluation and oversight, toward employing holistic, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary measurement methods. Thus, it is hoped that universal values of tourism, such as inclusivity and sustainability, can be implemented in the development of the tourism sector.

Abstract

Love is under threat because it is no longer something precious. In a culture steeped in capitalism, love becomes a commodity. Love turns into an instrument or tool for the achievement of something else. Love is considered something that cannot be found in real life and only remains in fiction and literature. Alain Badiou's schema of mathematics as ontology demonstrates that it is still possible to put love back as part of life and that love has value. Badiou reveals that initially, love is related to the self and is not a tool or instrument for anything outside the self. Love gives value to the human appreciation of life concerning its existence.

Abstract

Arjuna's crisis in the Bhagavad Gita is often interpreted as a moral or theological dilemma, yet this overlooks the profound psychological suffering depicted. This article re-examines this crisis not as a moral failure, but as a phenomenological portrait of absolute Attachment, a condition of painful enmeshment in the worldly web of relations. A Heideggerian phenomenological analysis is employed, using a close reading of the Gita's first chapter to diagnose the lived experience of Attachment and juxtaposing it with Martin Heidegger's concept of Gelassenheit (releasement). The analysis reveals Arjuna's paralysis as a direct symptom of his entrapment in calculative thinking (rechnendes Denken) born from Attachment. In contrast, Gelassenheit is presented as a meditative path of releasement (besinnliches Nachdenken) that allows one to act within the world without being ontologically consumed by it. The concept of Gelassenheit thus emerges as a powerful existential framework for understanding and responding to the specific suffering caused by Attachment, providing a bridge for a fruitful dialogue between an ancient Eastern narrative and modern Western phenomenology.

Abstract

Humans are the most perfect of all creatures, because only humans possess the ability to distinguish between the eternal and the transient. Furthermore, humans possess the awareness that they are not a material body, but the Atman, which is identical with Brahman. Advaita Vedanta theology and philosophy teach that Brahman pervades the universe. Therefore, Brahman and the Universe and all its contents are one. The Universe and all its contents are the material body of Brahman. Therefore, a practical understanding of Brahman can be observed through the Rtams, or Laws of Nature.Awareness of the Atman in humans is paramount in human life. Through awareness of the Atman, humans understand the existence of God behind all things. Awareness of the Atman makes humans wise, able to perceive God's presence in all things, as the Chandogya Upanisad states, "sarva khalv idam brahman," meaning "everything is God." Thus, Advaita Vedanta teaches that God, as the Subtle Substance, permeates all atomic particles of the Universe. Thus, all natural phenomena are a Cosmic Dance known as the Sivanataraja Dance or the Tandava Dance. Therefore, Rtam, or the Laws of Nature, can be used as a medium of contemplation to discover the traces of the Creator behind all natural phenomena.This research is qualitative, with data in the form of a summary of words obtained through literatures. Using Symbol Theory and Qualitative Interpretive Analysis, the authors conclude that the Laws of Nature are a manifestation of the dance of universal Truth (Satyam), which possesses the values of universal Virtue (Sivam) and universal Beauty (Sundaram). Humans who possess a perspective in accordance with the teachings of Advaita Vedanta will be able to see and experience the world and all its natural phenomena as an expression of Satyam, Sivam Sundaram, or a blissful Heaven.
