Abstract

Catfish farming is a new livelihood being developed by the people of Lubuk Bendahara Timur village, Rokan Hulu district, Riau province. However, this effort faces challenges in terms of the use of expensive factory pellets, which account for about 60-70% of the total production cost. To overcome this problem, an alternative solution is proposed by producing fish pellets independently by utilizing palm oil waste in the village. Through this community service program, appropriate technology transfer was carried out for Lubuk Bendahara Timur villagers by empowering the local community in producing fish pellets independently. The implication of this program is the increased knowledge in optimizing the utilization of palm oil waste for fish pellet production, so as to reduce production costs, increase income, and manage waste effectively.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the main cardiovascular risk factors which is the main cause of death in the world, especially in the elderly. Maximizing the utilization of elderly health posts is one strategy in controlling hypertension in the elderly, but the limited knowledge and skills of elderly health cadres, especially in managing hypertension, make the implementation of elderly health posts less than optimal. Sumur Gunung Elderly Health Post is one of the elderly health posts that routinely runs in Sumurejo Village, but services are still limited to measuring blood pressure, weight, and height, educational services still depend on the health center, there is no exercise, and there are no special provisions for the PMT menu. This is due to the limited knowledge and skills of the cadres. The results of BP examinations on 20 elderly people registered at the Sumur Gunung Elderly Posyandu showed that 35% (7 out of 20 elderly people) had blood pressure > 140/90 mmHg. The questionnaire results showed that 46% of elderly people had not regulated their diet, 75% of elderly people had a habit of drinking coffee, 80% of elderly people had not limited the amount of salt consumed, 50% of elderly people smoked, 60% of elderly people did not know how to treat hypertension. Based on this background, the STIKES Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Community Service Team carried out an activity entitled "IbM Empowerment of Antihypertension Cadres at the Sumur Gunung Elderly Posyandu". Abstract

This community service program aims to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through business development based on the sharia economy. MSMEs have a strategic role in the economy, but still face various challenges, especially in the application of sharia economic principles that can increase competitiveness and the desire to do business. This program is designed to improve Islamic financial literacy, introduce business contracts in accordance with sharia, and provide halal digital marketing training. The method of implementing the activity includes a participatory approach with various stages, ranging from problem identification, training, mentoring, to success evaluation. The target of the program is MSME actors in certain regions who have great potential to adopt the concept of sharia economics in their businesses. The results of this activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the concept of sharia economics, followed by changes in business practices that are more in line with Islamic principles. Some participants began to implement sharia contracts in their transactions, access sharia financing, and take advantage of halal branding-based digital marketing. This program also found several obstacles, such as low initial understanding of the sharia economy, limited access to Islamic financial institutions, and resistance to changes in the business system. However, through intensive strategy education and support from various parties, most of these challenges can be overcome. The conclusion of this activity is that business development based on the sharia economy can be a solution for MSMEs in increasing their competitiveness in the wider market. The next program recommendations include strengthening digital-based education, increasing access to sharia capital, and establishing a sharia-based MSME community as a forum for collaboration and sustainable business development.

Abstract

Character is very important to instill from an early age, because nowadays quite a few children grow up with global flows and intense use of gadgets. The implication of this is their character development in the future. In this program, the service activities we hold are given the theme "Growing the Character of Orphanage Children Through Educational Games", with a case study at the Ulul Azmi Orphanage, Cimahi City. This program aims to provide alternative positive activities for children so they can be free from using gadgets and at the same time refresh their minds. Character development in this activity is carried out through two main stages. First, this program targets elementary school children from grade one to grade six, with a more interactive method so that it is not boring. Second, through the medium of educational games, various moral messages can be conveyed in a way that is more interesting and easy for children of their age to understand. Thus, it is hoped that this program can help orphanage children to form positive characters from an early age.
