Abstract

This study investigates the internalization of character values through the BERSERI (Clean, Healthy, Literacy, and Istighosah) Friday Habbit at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah as a school culture–based model of character education. The study aims to explain how routine religious, literacy, and health practices contribute to students’ character formation. A qualitative descriptive design was applied at MI Hidayatun Najah Tuban. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and school leaders, and document analysis. Data credibility was ensured through triangulation, and inductive thematic analysis was employed to interpret the findings. Results show that the BERSERI Friday Habit effectively integrates character education into daily school life. Clean and healthy activities develop discipline, responsibility, and environmental awareness; literacy sessions strengthen critical thinking and learning motivation; and istighosah enhances spiritual awareness, emotional stability, and moral conduct. The program also fosters a supportive school culture marked by collective responsibility, religious atmosphere, and positive social interaction. Overall, the BERSERI program offers a practical model for sustainable character internalization in Islamic primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of father involvement on various aspects of early childhood development, including cognitive, socio-emotional, language, and moral development. The main issue raised is the still low level of father participation in childcare, which tends to be dominated by mothers, thus potentially hindering optimal child development. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature study type, through data collection from various scientific journals, books, and relevant previous research results. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and systematic conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the active involvement of fathers in parenting has a significant positive influence on child development, especially in increasing self-confidence, social skills, emotional regulation, and language development. In addition, the presence of fathers also contributes to the formation of character and moral values of children from an early age. The conclusion of this study confirms that the role of fathers is an important factor in supporting holistic and sustainable child development. Therefore, awareness and joint commitment from families are needed to increase father involvement in the early childhood care process.

Abstract

The ability to recognize letters is an important indicator in assessing the language development of early childhood as a basis for readiness to read and write. However, in learning practices, there are still limitations in the use of varied and interesting media, so that children's letter recognition abilities have not developed optimally. This study aims to determine the effect of using a wordwall application in improving letter recognition abilities in early childhood at PAUD ST. Alexander Oelnitep. This study used a quantitative pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 11 children aged 5-6 years, consisting of 2 boys and 9 girls. The study was conducted in two stages, namely a pretest aimed at determining children's initial ability in recognizing letters before using the wordwall application, and a posttest to measure abilities after being given treatment. The research instrument was first tested for feasibility and readability. Data analysis used was a hypothesis test using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed an increase in the average value after being given treatment. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, it shows that the mean pretest = 00 while the mean posttest = 6.00 and the results of the statistical test output, the asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value is 0.003. These results indicate that the hypothesis Ho which states that the use of wordwall applications has no effect in improving the ability of early childhood to recognize letters in PAUD ST. Alexander Oelnitep is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis Ha which states that the use of wordwall applications has an effect in improving the ability of early childhood to recognize letters in PAUD ST. Alexander Oelnitep is accepted. Overall, the use of wordwall application media has been proven to have an effect in improving the ability to recognize letters in early childhood.

Abstract

Psychological well-being is a crucial aspect for individuals, especially educators. However, a phenomenon has been identified in which dormitory supervisors in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) experience a decline in psychological well-being, which is presumed to be influenced by Burnout. Therefore, a moderating factor is needed to reduce the negative impact of Burnout. This study aims to examine the role of Hardiness as a moderating variable in the relationship between Burnout and psychological well-being. This research employed a quantitative correlational design involving 197 dormitory supervisors from 20 modern Islamic boarding schools. Data were collected using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), the Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS), and the Short Hardiness Scale. Data were analyzed using moderation analysis with Hayes’ PROCESS Macro. The results indicated that Burnout had a significant negative effect on psychological well-being. Furthermore, Hardiness significantly moderated the relationship by weakening the negative impact of Burnout. Thus, individuals with higher Hardiness tend to maintain better psychological well-being despite experiencing Burnout.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of values of religious moderation through the teaching of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) in upper-grade classes of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). The background of this research is based on the importance of strengthening students’ moderate character amidst the rising phenomena of intolerance and radicalism, as well as the suboptimal implementation of moderation values in SKI instruction, which still tends to be cognitively oriented. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects included SKI teachers, students in grades IV–VI, and the madrasah principal, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, followed by analysis using the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, comprising the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research findings indicate that the integration of religious moderation values into Islamic Studies (SKI) instruction is carried out through three main aspects: content, methods, and assessment. Values such as tolerance (tasamuh), balance (tawazun), justice (i‘tidal), and moderation (tawasuth) are integrated into history content, particularly through the exemplary stories of Islamic figures. Participatory and contextual teaching methods, such as storytelling, discussion, and problem-based learning, have proven effective in internalizing these values. However, implementation still faces challenges in the form of limited teacher competencies, the dominance of conventional methods, and evaluations that do not yet address affective aspects. The integration of religious moderation values into Islamic Cultural History (SKI) learning positively contributes to the formation of students’ tolerant and inclusive character. Therefore, strengthening teachers’ competencies, fostering learning innovations, and developing authentic assessments are necessary to optimize the internalization of religious moderation values in elementary madrasahs (MI).
