Abstract

: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Baamboozle interactive learning medium on students’ engagement in learning about whole numbers in first grade. This study is an experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 16 first-grade students at MI Terpadu Al Madani. Data collection was conducted using observation sheets to measure the level of student engagement during the learning process. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to determine the initial data profile, a Paired Sample t-test with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics to test the difference between pretest and posttest scores, and an N-Gain test to determine the improvement in student engagement. The results of the study indicate a significant difference in student learning engagement between before and after the use of the Baamboozle interactive learning medium. This is demonstrated by the results of the Paired Sample t-test, which showed a calculated tvalue greater than the critical ttable (t0.05(14) = 2.145), specifically 22.376 > 2.145, and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The posttest mean score of 17.00 is higher than the pretest mean of 10.31, and the N-Gain test results also show a mean of 0.69, which falls into the moderate category. Thus, the Baamboozle interactive learning media has been proven effective in increasing student engagement in learning about whole numbers.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students’ scientific literacy in science learning due to the limited use of innovative learning media. The study aimed to develop a religious-based pop-up book media on the solar system material for sixth-grade students at MI Salafiyah that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ scientific literacy. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included material experts, media experts, teachers, and 38 sixth-grade students at MI Salafiyah. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, documentation, and tests. The instruments used were material validation sheets, media validation sheets, learning implementation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest questions. Data analysis techniques used percentage analysis and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the media obtained a material validation score of 100% and a media validation score of 85.7% with a very valid category. The practicality test showed a percentage of 100% with a very practical category. The effectiveness test showed an N-Gain score of 0.80 in the high category. Therefore, the religious-based pop-up book media is feasible and effective to improve students’ scientific literacy in science learning.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology and social media has transformed patterns of social interaction while simultaneously increasing the risk of sexual harassment in digital spaces. This phenomenon has serious psychological and social impacts, particularly on women and students. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the hadiths related to guarding one's gaze, maintaining proper speech, prohibiting harm to others, and protecting human dignity, as well as examining their relevance in preventing sexual harassment in the digital era through Islamic education. This study employed a qualitative approach with a library research method by analyzing hadith literature, hadith commentaries, and various scholarly works related to digital sexual harassment and Islamic education. The findings reveal that sexual harassment, whether verbal, physical, or digital, contradicts Islamic moral values because it violates human dignity and honor. The hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad provide ethical principles that are highly relevant to contemporary digital life, particularly regarding self-control, respectful communication, and the protection of others' dignity. Furthermore, Islamic education plays a strategic role in preventing sexual harassment through strengthening digital ethics, Islamic social media literacy, and character education among students. This study contributes to the development of hadith studies and Islamic education by offering a contextual understanding of hadith as a moral foundation for addressing contemporary social issues in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects caused by the learning process that is still teacher-centered and the lack of use of innovative learning models and media. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Generative Learning learning model assisted by Pop-Up Book media on student learning outcomes on natural and artificial appearance materials in my area in grade III of SD Negeri 11 Sesetan City Denpasar Academic Year 2025/2026. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi experiment method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population was all grade III students of SD Negeri 11 Sesetan with a sample of class III A as the experimental class and class III B as the control class. Data collection was carried out using learning outcome test instruments in the form of pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using independent sample t-tests. The results showed that there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between students who participated in learning using the Generative Learning model assisted by Pop-Up Book media and students who participated in conventional learning. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05, so that H? was rejected and H? was accepted. These findings show that the use of the Generative Learning model assisted by Pop-Up Book media can increase student involvement in learning and help students understand the concept of IPAS more concretely. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Generative Learning learning model assisted by Pop-Up Book media has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of social studies of grade III elementary school students. This research contributes as an alternative to innovative learning strategies that can help teachers create more active, interesting, and meaningful IPAS learning.

Abstract

Early writing skills are a basic skill that supports the literacy development of elementary school students. However, some second-grade students still experience difficulties in mastering these skills. This study aims to analyze early writing difficulties, the contributing factors, teachers' efforts to overcome them, the role of parents, and the learning process of early writing in second-grade elementary schools. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Research informants consisted of second-grade teachers, students, principals, and parents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students experienced difficulties in forming letters, distinguishing similar letters, writing simple words and sentences, using capital letters and punctuation, and maintaining neatness of writing. These difficulties were influenced by internal factors, such as fine motor skills and learning motivation, as well as external factors, such as lack of practice and parental guidance. Teachers addressed these difficulties through gradual practice, the use of engaging learning media, individual guidance, and ongoing evaluation. This study concluded that collaboration between teachers, parents, and schools is an important factor in improving early writing skills and provides a basis for developing more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

The ability to recognize letters is one of the important aspects in the development of early childhood literacy that needs to be developed through interesting learning activities that are in accordance with the characteristics of children. Based on the results of initial observations in Group A4 of PPAUDIT Lukmanul Hakim Gorontalo Regency, children's ability to recognize letters is still relatively low because most children have difficulty in recognizing, mentioning, and distinguishing letter shapes. This research aims to improve children's letter recognition skills through the application of snake and ladder game media. The method used is the Kemmis and McTaggart model Class Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, including the planning stage, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 22 children. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and documentation, while data analysis uses quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that children's ability to recognize letters increased significantly, from 36.36% in the pre-cycle stage to 72.72% in Cycle I and reached 100% in Cycle II. Thus, snake and ladder game media has been proven to be effective in improving literacy skills, learning motivation, and active involvement of children in learning.

Abstract

The integration of technology in English language learning within pesantren often faces challenges in balancing digital developments with the preservation of Islamic values. This study aims to develop the traditional Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which focuses on Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use, by incorporating Islamic values as an important factor in technology acceptance. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with English teachers in the pesantren environment. The findings show that technology acceptance among teachers at Pesantren Darul Falah is influenced not only by the usefulness and ease of technology but also by moral and religious considerations, referred to as Islamic Perceived Appropriateness. The reconceptualization of TAM in this study results in a new model that places Islamic values, digital ethics, and public benefit as the main foundations for technology adoption. The findings highlight the importance of developing digital learning media that are aligned with the cultural and religious characteristics of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The low level of understanding among 4th-grade students at MI Miftahul Huda Sukobubuk regarding the topics of cultural diversity and local wisdom in IPAS lessons served as the background for this study, given that conventional teaching methods were deemed insufficient in stimulating students’ interest and active engagement. This study aims to describe strategies for utilizing the Wayground game as a teaching medium and to analyze its effectiveness in improving students’ understanding of these topics. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach involving direct field research. Data were collected through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews with the madrasah principal, 4th-grade teachers of classes A and B, and students, as well as documentation of learning activities. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the use of Wayground was implemented in three stages: preparation of materials on the platform; implementation utilizing classroom TVs, computer labs, and the school’s Wi-Fi, and evaluation through an automatic assessment feature that displays students’ scores in real time. This medium proved effective in increasing students’ enthusiasm, motivation, and understanding of the subject matter on cultural diversity and local wisdom. However, the effective use of Wayground is still hampered by technical challenges, namely its reliance on a stable internet connection, which, if not maintained, can disrupt the learning process.

Abstract

The gold mining industry in Batang Toru causes a stark income disparity, leading to a shortage of religious teachers at MIS Arofa Kampung Telok and challenging the quality of Islamic education. This descriptive qualitative study investigates this teacher deficit, its financial impacts, and the madrasah’s survival strategies. Data collected via observation, interviews, and documentation were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings confirm that high profits in the mining sector decrease university graduates' interest in teaching, hindering religious staff recruitment. To adapt, the madrasah optimizes internal capacity by conducting regular tahsin training for existing teachers and involving general subject teachers in Quranic guidance. This study concludes that continuous organizational resilience effectively maintains students' Quranic literacy standards (fluency, makhraj, tajwid, and Juz 29–30 memorization) amidst local economic pressures and teacher shortages.

Abstract

Geometry learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah often faces challenges because the abstract nature of the elements of plane figures makes it difficult for students to develop a deeper conceptual understanding. This study aims to describe the strategy of using the Wordwall application as a medium for fostering deep thinking in understanding the elements of plane figures among Grade III students at MI Mambaul Ulum Grogolan 02, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with validation using source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Wordwall application was integrated with reason-tracking questions (tracking reasons) to trigger Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and students' self-reflection. Supporting factors include internal factors in the form of students' high motivation and enthusiasm, as well as external factors in the form of school policy support, the availability of digital facilities, and teachers' pedagogical competence. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited time allocation and the availability of technological devices, causing the Wordwall application to be implemented through whole-class group activities, thereby limiting students' opportunities to interact with the media independently. The findings indicate that the successful use of Wordwall as a medium for fostering deep thinking is determined not only by the digital media itself but also by teachers' pedagogical strategies and support from the school environment. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the development of mathematics learning based on deep thinking in elementary education.
