Abstract

The implementation of educational program for all through distance learning is expected to match with the condition of Indonesia’s geography, demography, and culture that vary from one place to another. In terms of the implementation of the nine-year basic education compulsion program, Indonesia has carried out various programs, such as Package A (equal to elementary school) and Package B (equal to open junior high school) programs in many parts of provinces in Indonesia. This ‘open junior high school’ model has even been adopted as ‘open Islamic junior high school’ in other provinces. At the level of tertiary education, there is open university, as stated in the Act on National Education System No. 20 of 2003

Abstract

The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The aim of this research is to describe the student’s error in writing the resolution about the similarity of the two triangles. The student has many problems in mathematics include analyzing a triangle. A polygon that has three sides, three angles, and three cornersis called a triangle. The angle formed by the two sides of a triangle intersects with each other. The triangles are similar if the comparison lengths of the corresponding sides are same and the large of the corresponding angles are same. Three students are chosen as the subjects based on their score in the daily test about the similarity of two triangles. The students are given tests and then interviewed. Writing error by students in solving problems is analyzed based on Newman’s theory. The result obtained in this research is that error writing occurs because of the misconceptions when transforming the information from the problem. The students make mistakes in writing occurs when they have to solve the problems.

Abstract

Bearing in mind that the learners’ speaking skill had become the main goal in learning language, grammatical competence is believed to have a big role within foreign language learners’ language production, especially in spoken form. Moreover, the learners’ grammatical competence is also closely related to the Monitor Hypothesis proposed by Krashen (1982) in which it says that the acquired system will function as monitor or editor to the language production. The students’ monitor performance will vary based on how they make use of their acquired system. They may use it optimally (monitor optimal user), overly (monitor over-user), or they may not use it at all (monitor under-user). Therefore, learners’ grammatical competence has its own role, which is very crucial, within learners’ language production, which is not only to produce the language, but also to monitor the language production itself. Because of this reason, focus on form instruction will give a great impact for students’ grammatical competence within their communicative competence. This paper aims to present ideas about the how crucial the role grammatical competence within learners’ L2 communication.

Abstract

The implementation of the curriculum 2013 revised edition was reinstated by the government in 2016 that made all elements of the school especially teachers should adapt the learning tools used in the teaching system. Learning tools include syllabus, RPP, Textbooks, LKS, and learning media. Science learning according to the 2013 curriculum is done contextually for example by applying environment based learning by maximizing the enviromental potential that exists in the area around the school. Ecosystem is a material that must be done contextually. One of methode for teachers to improve their learning motivation and student learning outcomes is by developing a The Banna Game integrated contextual learning instruction. Game The Banna is an educational game themed Baluran National Park. This study aims to develop The Banna Game integrated contextual learning instruction on the subject of Ecosystems on Learning Motivation and Student Cognitive Learning Outcomes at SMPN 1 Asembagus Situbondo. This research is a developmental research using ASSURE model. The developmental research is carried out in Biology Education Study Program which involves several validators, Baluran National Park experts, application experts, learning device experts, learning media experts and materials experts. Abstract

This studyaimed  to analyze mathematicsteachersconceptions(beliefs) about mathematical modeling in Palembang. In this study presents a case study of 60 mathematics teachers, investigating their conceptions about mathematical modeling and their experiences of working with modeling activities in Palembang. In particular, basic concepts of mathematical models, mathematical modeling, and mathematical modeling in education were analyzed. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire of sample of practicing teachers of mathematics in Palembang. The data showed that mathematics teachers in Palembang hold several misconceptions about models and modeling, particularly regarding aspects of the mathematical modeling process. Specifically, the majority of teachers does not understand that the mathematical modeling process always requires making choices and assumptions, and that mathematical modeling situations must come from real-world scenarios. The results indicate that the teachers in this study seem not to give priority to integrating mathematical modeling into their everyday mathematics teaching.

Abstract

This research tries to analyze the mathematics learning difficulties of Junior High school students on the material of “ relation and function”. This research was conducted on the grade VIII students in one of Junior High School 1st semester in Surakarta city in the academic year 2016. Mastery of students to the concept of mathematics which is the basic science of all sciences is still lacking. The results of the national exam of junior high school students of Surakarta are still low, one of which can be seen from the absorption of material relations and functions. This is because the results of National Examination for the city of Surakarta, can be seen from the absorption of UN value in 2015 with indicators to solve problems related to the function of 57.23%, while the year 2016 with indicators determine the value of the function if the formula of the known function of 52.70 %. This study uses test methods and interviews to find out the learning difficulties and their causes. Based on the test and interview on 3 Junior high school students who have high, medium and low learning achievements, it is found that students got difficulties in determining the value of function and value of x, if the image of x is known. Students get difficulty in solving problems related to the function and determine the value of the function and determine the value of x if the image of x is given. By knowing the difficulties faced by students expected teachers can find ways to overcome difficulties faced by students so that will be able to improve students' understanding of the material relations and functions.

Abstract

Sufism are teachings in Islam about the search for truth by doing certain disciplines so as to the knowledge or understanding of God. This understanding of God can be accomplished by practicing through the stage of spiritual ascension, to the contemplation and deeper understanding of God. The concept of the spiritual ascension in the teachings of Sufism is called the maqam, while the meditation on God is called by things. Moreover, in the teachings of Sufism, one who has attained the highest level gains the privilege of God in the form of abilities that can not be done by ordinary people or so-called karomahs (As Sarraj, 1914: 17, Nicholson 1998: 99, Simuh 1997: 49 ). Sufism or tasawwuf teachings are not only taught through the books written by the Sufis, but also contained in literary works such as poetry and stories. Sufism in literature is one way to teach the values of the teachings of Sufism. This is useful for the reader to introspect themselves to be a good human being. The reader can gain a deeper insight and appreciation of the teachings of religion. An example is the reader learns to live and contemplate the Sufi expression in poetry or the sufistic behavior of the story. Such behavior is usually a person's struggle to achieve the highest degree or level in God's eyes. To accomplish that one must cleanse his heart from disgraceful qualities.
