Abstract

Online learning in Indonesia currently has many obstacles. Some of the obstacles are less supportive learning device, participants find it difficult to download various applications to support online learning, and the difficulty of educators when explaining calculation material and formulas online. So, we provide solutions in the form of user interface design in the application that we design, namely Smart Board Live. This paper is made using quantitative descriptive data and literature studies. The design of this application will provide all the features needed to support teaching and learning activities. In this application there are some menu; Live Board, Attendance List, Exam, Collection of Materials, Student Assignment, and Account. The Live Board menu is the main menu in the form of an interactive digital whiteboard that can make interconnect users, brainstorm, write, draw, visualize ideas, record, share documents, and share editing and additions made on the board.

Abstract

The shore erosion in Rembang District during 2003-2014 resulted in huge losses. This study was conducted in the Coastal District of Kragan because of frequent shore erosion. Coastal of Sumurtawang and Kragan have erosion. Coastal of Pandangan Wetan, Balongmulyo, and Tanjungan are stable due to the construction of a small port in the village of Karanganyar which affects the surrounding area. The capacity of indigenous knowledge is as high as local wisdom, perception and attitude of the community in handling shore erosion. Coping strategies is also as high as the value of human capital, social, financial, natural, and physical. There is a correlation between community capacity variables, it means that if the capacity of indigenous knowledge is high, then the coping strategies is also high. But, the capacity of indigenous knowledge does not significantly affect the coping strategies. The relation of these capacities determines the priority of settlement.

Abstract

Bearing in mind that the learners’ speaking skill had become the main goal in learning language, grammatical competence is believed to have a big role within foreign language learners’ language production, especially in spoken form. Moreover, the learners’ grammatical competence is also closely related to the Monitor Hypothesis proposed by Krashen (1982) in which it says that the acquired system will function as monitor or editor to the language production. The students’ monitor performance will vary based on how they make use of their acquired system. They may use it optimally (monitor optimal user), overly (monitor over-user), or they may not use it at all (monitor under-user). Therefore, learners’ grammatical competence has its own role, which is very crucial, within learners’ language production, which is not only to produce the language, but also to monitor the language production itself. Because of this reason, focus on form instruction will give a great impact for students’ grammatical competence within their communicative competence. This paper aims to present ideas about the how crucial the role grammatical competence within learners’ L2 communication.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, educators must ensure that teaching and learning activities continue, even though students are not in school. The solution is that educators are required to design online learning as an innovation in the use of technology. Learning at MTs Negeri 9 Jember during the COVID pandemic was carried out using the WA group, google classroom, or google meet. The learning media used by educators at MTs Negeri 9 Jember include powerpoints, videos, pictures (photos). The learning media used by MTs Negeri 9 educators are not effective and less attractive. The media used so far have not involved students to take an active role in the learning process. Therefore, training activities for the development of effective and interesting learning media are needed. One form of interesting learning media is game-based learning media in which there are many choices so that teachers just use it based on the materials to be presented. This community service activity is carried out in the form of training, and assistance by applying a modified Learning Cycle (3E) learning model, which consists of Exploration, Explanation, and Elaboration. Through this activity, partner school teachers are expected to (1) be able to innovate in carrying out classroom learning by utilizing ICT (2) improve the ICT capabilities of partner teachers with many partner teachers developing game-based learning media
