Abstract

Cycle I showed quite significant results both in the discipline of arrival time and discipline in making learning instruments. However, it has not reached the expected target of at least 85%. Obstacles that were found for teachers who lacked time discipline were apparently caused by several things including geographical location and business at home, for example there were those who had to deliver their children first and cooking (female teachers). Reward for teachers who have been disciplined in time, disciplined in making learning instruments, and achieving curriculum targets. The rewards are in the form of praise and serve as an example for other teachers in the hope that others can follow their footsteps so that at least 85% of teachers are expected to be able to discipline both in time and in carrying out learning process activities and achieve the expected curriculum targets. Cycle II showed quite significant results both in the discipline of arrival time, discipline in making learning instrument, and overall had achieved the expected target of at least 85%. Obstacles that were found for teachers who lacked time discipline were apparently caused by several things including geographical location, and busyness at home, for example there were those who had to deliver their children first, and cooking (female teachers). Therefore, by giving rewards and punishments, it turns out that it can lead to teacher awareness of their duties and responsibilities as a professional teacher.

Abstract

Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) reflects the development of learning independence, self-regulation in learning, self-management ability in the learning process, and the students' ability to manage learning experiences to obtain optimal learning outcomes. The development of SRL is a process of encouraging students' activity to foster the cognition and behavior aspects that demand systematic self-regulation to achieve the learners' learning goals. Thus, reflecting on students' SRL becomes an essential and strategic aspect of being explored and developed in learning management because it is fundamental to learning success. There are three main components that must be measured, namely self, environmental, and behavior. Each of the indicators of the three components interacts with each other. The analysis of the three components (triadic analysis) in order to develop students' SRL is a very urgent aspect for educators. This study aims to conduct a triadic analysis of students' SRL in response to the learning support of the Environmental science course. The population of this study is students of 3 courses, namely: Environmental Knowledge (Biology Education Study Program), Environmental Education (History Education Study Program) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, and Environmental Sciences (History Study Program) of Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Jember. The sample of this study was students who took the course and filled out the SRL's questionnaire in the form of a Google form distributed through social media, Whatsapp (WA). The result of this study shows that the condition of the learning environment that students respond to in the form of environmental self-regulation is on a positive average in the range above 80%. Likewise, the students' self-planning, self-efficacy, and self-evaluation responses are reflected in the form of self-regulation behavior in good condition (in the range above 80%). However, in the self-evaluation indicators, some students are inconsistent in self-planning and self-efficacy, which leads to non-achievement of the targets set.

Abstract

The current learning process of students is directed in a one way process. The teachers have to explain and the students are listening to them instead of being actively involved. It degrades their cognitive learning outcome. The application of Think Pair Share affects the students to become actively involved and giving an opportunity for those who want to comprehend their argument into the class. The additional approach of the method may support to make the students feel their own learning method which goes meaningful. The goal of this research is to know the role of Think Pair Share learning method toward the cognitive learning outcome of senior high school students. The research uses quassi experiments in terms of control class and experiment class approach. The result shows that the reduction of them are 33,53 and 17,21. The normality test result defines that the significance value is 0,0066 (>0,05). It means they have accepted H0, meanwhile the pretest and posttest mark of each class control and experiment distribute normally. The homogeneity test results show a value of 0.439 (> 0.05) so that H0 is accepted, which means that the pretest and posttest values from the experimental and control classes come from the same or homogeneous population. The result of ANACOVA test show that SPSS result is 0,000 (>0.05) so the H1 is accepted. It proves that Think Pair Share method using observation experiment is effectively significant towards the cognitive learning outcome of the students. From this situation, it concludes that the approach is having an impact into the cognitive learning outcome of the students

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are competencies that students have after gaining their learning experience, so indicators of learning success can be seen from student learning outcomes after experiencing the learning process. Student learning outcomes can be improved through the use of learning models, one of which is by applying the POE learning model (Prediction, Observation and Explanation) with probing-prompting techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of POE learning models (Prediction, Observation and Explanation) with probing-prompting techniques on the cognitive learning outcomes of the tenth grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember on the environmental pollution subject. Type of research is a quasy experimental study using a pretest and posttest design. In the experimental class, learning activity was carried out by applying the POE learning model (Prediction, Observation and Explanation) with probing-prompting techniques and the control class, learning activities are carried out by applying conventional learning models. The data of the students' cognitive learning outcomes were obtained through the pretest and posttest scores then analyzed using ANAKOVA test. The application of POE learning model (Prediction, Observation and Explanation) with probing-prompting techniques had a significant effect with a probability as much as 0,000. The affective learning outcomes influenced significantly with a significance value of 0.001 or p<0.05.
