Abstract

As technology advances, technology-facilitated sexual crimes also emerge, one of which is Image-Based Sexual Abuse (IBSA) which is prevalent both internationally and in Indonesia. Various empirical studies have been conducted to examine the causative factors of IBSA perpetration and the results have been found to vary. Therefore, the authors made an integrative review study to map the determinants of IBSA behavior. The literature reviewed by the author was taken from two databases, namely Scopus and Clarivate Web of Science. Of the 996 identified literatures, 13 relevant literatures were obtained for further study. The determinant factors that were successfully mapped in this study were demographic, attitudinal, and experiential characteristics, dark personality traits, toxic online disinhibition, consumption of online pornography, and gender norms and homosocial interactions. Although the findings of previous studies varied widely, there were several inconsistent findings on the determinants. Therefore, future research can further examine this inconsistency.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between authoritative parenting style parenting and hope to graduate on time to academic grit in students who receive full scholarships. It was conducted on 87 full-scholarship undergraduate students selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included measures of academic grit, authoritative parenting style, and hope to graduate on time. Findings revealed a strong correlation (p = 0.000; R = 0.771; R2 = 0.595) among authoritative parenting style, hope to graduate on time, and academic grit, contributing effectively by 59.5%. The results of the minor hypothesis indicate a highly significant positive relationship between authoritative parenting style and academic grit (R = 0.576, p < 0.01), along with a highly significant positive correlation between hope to graduate on time and academic grit (R = 0.733, p < 0.01). Based on the research outcomes, it can be concluded that a highly significant positive correlation among the three variables.

The results of the major hypothesis showed that there was a relationship between social-comparison and self-regulation with motivation to practice (p=0,000; r=0.658). The results of the minor hypothesis test one show that there is a positive relationship between social-comparison and motivation to practice (p=0.000; r=0.615). These results are the same with the second minor hypothesis on the variable self-regulation and motivation to practice (p=0.000; r=0.592). Abstract

Student learning engagement and creative thinking are important in education. Based on the preliminary study result, it is known that students have a moderate to low level of student learning engagement and creative thinking. This study aims to determine the differences in student learning engagement and creative thinking in introverted and extroverted students. The study was conducted on vocational high school students in Kudus with 96 total research participants consisting of 48 introverted students and 48 extroverted students. The measuring instrument used to obtain data is using the DISC test tool, student learning engagement scale, and creative thinking scale. The results of data analysis show that there are differences in student learning engagement in introverted and extroverted students (p=0.012), where introverted students have higher levels of students learning engagement (M=90.48) than extroverted students (M=84.21). However, in the creative thinking variable, there are no differences between introverted and extroverted students (p=0.870).

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of mental health issues among Indonesian young adults lacks a corresponding effort in seeking professional aid. Hence, understanding the factors inhibiting their access to psychological assistance is crucial. This research aims to to examine the validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of the Barriers to Seeking Psychological Help Scale (BSPHS) to discern the inhibiting factors for young adults in seeking psychological assistance from professionals in Indonesia. The study involves 229 participants aged 18 to 32. Results indicate that the Bahasa Indonesia BSPHS version is both valid and reliable in measuring barriers to seeking psychological help for young adults, with Pearson correlation ranging from 0.409 to 0.719 and a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.894. Factors inhibiting help-seeking that exhibit high to very high reliability scores include fear of societal stigma, trust in professionals, self-disclosure difficulty, lowered self-esteem, and lack of knowledge.

The participants in this quantitative study were 48 nurses who are currently or have previously worked in handling COVID-19 cases. The measurement tools utilized were the Brief-COPE for assessing coping strategies and the General Health Questionnaire-12 for measuring psychological distress The results of correlation test analysis revealed that there is no significant relationship between coping strategies and psychological distress in nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Mental health issues that develop in college students, particularly STEM students, require additional attention. This is also accompanied by STEM students' level of mental health literacy. This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between mental health literacy and psychological distress in STEM students at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. The Mental Health Literacy scale used to measure mental health literacy. The Kessler Psychological Distress (K10) used to measure psychological distress. The results of the research data analysis obtained a correlation value of 0,838 (p > 0,05). Mental health literacy does not indicate an existing correlation with psychological distress, thus implying that there might be other variables involved.

Abstract

This literature review aims to examine the relationship between parental expressed emotion and disruptive behavior tendencies in adolescents. The search for research articles was carried out using certain keywords according to PRISMA guidelines. There were 6 research articles analyzed in this literature review which were obtained through the PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases, which were then analyzed for the purpose, methods, samples, and research findings. The results of this literature review are in line with previous research on parental expressed emotion and adolescent disruptive behavior, which showed a significant relationship between parental expressed emotion and disruptive behavior in adolescents. The higher the level of positive parental expressed emotion, the lower the tendency for disruptive behavior to occur in adolescents. And the higher the level of negative parental expressed emotion, the higher the tendency for disruptive behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

Sextortion is a term that has recently emerged from the word's "sex" and "extortion". Sextortion involves the distribution of sexual images of victims as a threat to obtain money or other valuables. Victims of sextortion have experienced a traumatizing experience that requires a long process of self-acceptance of their situation. This study was obtained from articles related to the problem and aimed to analyze the self-acceptance process of sextortion victims after the incident as well as the factors involved in the victims' self-acceptance process. This study found that the self-acceptance process of post-incident sextortion victims has several stages, starting from the denial phase, self-evaluation, self-awareness, and self-acceptance phase. The factors that influence the self-acceptance process were divided into two, namely internal factors in the form of self-understanding, self-awareness and self-will to change the situation and external factors, namely the environment around the victim.
