Abstract

Good pharmaceutical services are directly oriented in using drugs, aiming to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and rationality of drug use by applying science and function in patient's care. Patients who have insurance are also entitled to get good service or quality, one of the government's insurance, namely BPJS. This study analyzes patient satisfaction with services seen from 5 dimensions, namely the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibility. This research is an observational type with the cross-sectional method and was carried out by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out in March-April 2020 using a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by comparing the satisfaction and expectation values ​​, which were then related to the range value to obtain the patient's satisfaction level. The results of this study of 51 respondents obtained an average level of satisfaction value of 0.85 (high) from the five dimensions, namely reliability of 0.86 (high), the responsiveness of 0.68 (sufficient), assurance of 0.90 (high), empathy is 0.94 (high), and reality is 0.91 (high).

Abstract

Carrot antioxidant activity analysis has been carried out. Carrot juice was analyzed qualitatively by the FRAP method using FRAP reagent and by the CUPRAC method using copper (II) chloride solution, neucuproine solution, ammonium acetate buffer solution, and distilled water. Quantitatively, the mixture of sample solutions using the FRAP and CUPRAC methods was analyzed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 596 nm for the FRAP method and 452 nm for the CUPRAC method, using Trolox solution as the standard curve. The results obtained were that each sample A and B's antioxidant activity using the FRAP method was 0.5186 µM TR/g and 0.8857 µM TR/g samples. Meanwhile, samples A and B's antioxidant activity using the CUPRAC method was 0.1160 µM TR/g sample and 0.1762 µM TR/g sample.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the behavioral factors according to the Health Belief Model (HBM) theory, which affects the accuracy in using gastritis drugs at Arjuno Health Center, Malang City. This research is a non-experimental study with an analytical observational research design. The instrument used a valid and reliable questionnaire. There were two variables used, the independent variables, namely the factors of the theory of the HBM (Perceived susceptibility, Perceived severity, Perceived Benefits, Perceived barriers, and Self Efficacy), and the dependent variable is the proper usage of gastric drugs. The number of samples used int this study was 80 respondents. The regression test results on each factor of HBM theory on the accuracy of using gastritis drugs (p < 0.05) means significantly affected the accuracy of using gastritis drugs except for perceived barriers, which is a significant value of 0.301 > 0.05. This result is relevant to the theory which states that the higher perceived barriers, the correct use of drug will be lower. Then for the Anova test, all independent variables were tested with the dependent variable and the results  means that there is an influence between the HBM theory and the accuracy of using gastritis drugs. If measured simultaneously, factors from the HBM affect the accuracy in using gastritis drugs with a significant effect of 64.9%.

Abstract

The potency of red ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale R.) and binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) has been known to have an antihypertensive effect and can be used in herbal medicine. This study compared the impact of steeping red ginger rhizome and steeping binahong leaves on blood pressure reduction in healthy people with hypertension risk. The research design is a Comparative Quasy Experiment to measure pre-test and post-test blood pressure on treating 3 gr/200 ml steeping the red ginger rhizome (S1) and 3 gr/200 ml steeping binahong leaves (S2). The number of respondents was 64 according to the inclusion criteria and had obtained ethical clearance. The data were processed statistically. The experiment showed that the S1 group had a significant difference in systolic blood pressure reduction compared with the control treatments, but there was no significant difference in diastolic blood pressure reduction compared with controls. Meanwhile, in the S2 group, there was a significant difference in systolic blood pressure reduction compared with the control treatments, but there was no significant difference in diastolic blood pressure reduction compared with controls. Between the treatment of S1 and S2, there was no significant difference in systolic blood pressure reduction, which means that both red ginger and binahong seed had the same effect on systolic blood pressure. Treatment of steeping red ginger rhizome and steeping binahong leaves has a similar effect on systolic blood pressure reduction.

Abstract

Hipertensi atau tekanan darah tinggi adalah salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang mempunyai risiko penyebab kematian yang cukup tinggi. Menurut berbagai penelitian didapatkan prevalensi penyakit hipertensi mencapai 15-20% . Untuk mengatasinya, akhir-akhir ini orang cenderung untuk kembali memakai produk-produk alami. Biji lada hitam (Piper nigrum l) yang mempunyai kandungan pedas yaitu piperin dengan kadar yang relatif besar sekitar 5-9% digunakan masyarakat pemakai obat tradisional untuk mengobati penyakit tekanan darah tinggi. Untuk itu diperlukan pembuktian secara ilmiah apakah terdapat daya hipotensif biji lada hitam dan piperin terhadap tekanan darah kucing teranestesi. Dalam penelitian ini hewan uji kucing dibagi dalam 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok I suspensi biji lada hitam dosis 5%, kelompok II suspensi biji lada hitam dosis 20%, kelompok II suspensi biji lada hitam dosis 40%, kelompok IV kontrol negatif CMC Na 0,5% dan kelompok V piperin dosis 5%. Pemberian larutan uji secara intragastrik, dilakukan saat tekanan darah stabil (dianggap waktu / t = 0). Pengukuran tekanan darah dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pemberian bahan uji yaitu pada menit ke-0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, dan 120. Analisis data menggunakan uji deskriptif, uji Kruskal Wallis, Uji Mann Whitney dan uji Split-plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian suspensi biji lada hitam yang diberikan pada kucing yang teranestesi menunjukkan efek hipotensif. Lada hitam dosis 5% menunjukkan penurunan tekanan darah yang sesuai dengan pengobatan hipertensi dengan durasi dari menit ke-0 sampai menit ke-120. Lada hitam dosis 20% memberikan penurunan tekanan darah terbesar pada menit ke-60 sebesar 45,67%. Kata kunci: biji lada hitam, kucing, hipotensif

Abstract

Mirabilis jalapa l leaves have been known containing Ribosome Inactivating Proteins (RIPs) base on its N-glycosidase activity and cleavage of supercoiled double stranded DNA. The research aims to investigate cytotoxic activity of protein isolated from Mirabilis jalapa l leaves against HeLa cell culture. In this research, crude extract of Mirabilis jalapa l leaves was separated by gradual precipitation using sulphate ammonium followed by dyalisis. Further separation of protein fraction with cation exchange chromatography using CM sepharose CL-6B column and elution with sodium phosphate buffer 5 mM pH 6,5 for 30 minutes continued with sodium phosphate buffer 5 mM pH 6,5 containing 0-0,5 M NaCl by gradient elution for 90 minutes. Cytotoxicity activity testing of protein fraction that showed an ability to cleave supercoiled double stranded DNA revealed that RIPs eluated at NaCl gradient of 0,33-0,37 M and 0,38-0,41 M, concentration of 0,553 mg/mL relatively less toxic against HeLa cell culture with percentage of cytotoxicity of 29,53%. Abstract

Kanker payudara menduduki peringkat kedua setelah kanker leher rahim yang menyerang wanita di seluruh dunia. Eksplorasi terhadap tumbuhan yang mudah ditemukan, seperti herba Hedyotis corymbosa, sebagai alternatif pengobatan kanker payudara perlu dilakukan. Dilakukan uji in vivo terhadap lima kelompok tikus Galur Sprague Dawley terdiri atas kelompok perlakuan DMBA (20 mg/kgBB), perlakuan ekstrak etanolik herba H. corymbosa (1500 mg/kgBB), perlakuan DMBA + dosis I (750 mg/kgBB), perlakuan DMBA + dosis II (1500 mg/kgBB) dan perlakuan pelarut CMC - Na 0,5%. Kelompok perlakuan DMBA, DMBA + dosis I, dan DMBA + dosis II diinduksi DMBA 10 kali selama lima minggu. Kemudian setelah diistirahatkan selama empat minggu, dilakukan pemberian ekstrak selama 10 hari. Pada akhir percobaan dilakukan pengorbanan kemudian diambil jaringan payudara untuk diamati aktivitas proliferasinya. Dilakukan pengamatan imunohistokimia terhadap protein c-Myc pada jaringan payudara. Pengamatan pada metode imunohistokimia terhadap protein c-Myc menunjukkan adanya perubahan yang positif pada kelenjar payudara kelompok perlakuan DMBA + dosis I. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanolik herba H. corymbosa dosis 750 mg/kgBB sudah mampu menghambat proliferasi sel kanker payudara dan tidak bersifat dose dependent. Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of a-pinene on number of cell that express iNOS (inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced neuron-glial culture. Neuron-glial culture were divided into eight groups: (1) normal; (2), (3) and (4) incubated with a-pinene (0,2; 0,4 and 0,8 &mu;g/mL respectively, for 24 hours); (5) incubated with LPS 1 &mu;g/mL; (6), (7) and (8) incubated with a-pinene (0,2; 0,4 and 0,8 &mu;g/mL respectively, for 24 hours) and then induced with LPS (1 &mu;g/mL, on 1 last hour of treatment period). The expression of iNOS in neuron-glial culture was detected by immunocytochemistry using anti-iNOS rabbit polyclonal IgG and goat anti-rabbit IgG Biotin Conjugated. The result shown that iNOS were expressed on normal group. Lipopolysaccharide 1 &mu;g/mL induction causing iNOS expression increased approximately three times higher than normal (from 9,7% became 28,7%). Inducible NOS expression on non LPS-induced neuron-glial culture did not affected by a-pinene. Whereas a-pinene 0,2 and 0,4 &mu;g/mL could suppress iNOS expression on LPSinduced condition. a-pinene 0,2; 0,4 and 0,8 &mu;g/mL could help neuronglial cells survived on LPS-induced condition, but normal neuron-glial culture&rsquo;s density was decreased when incubated with a-pinene 0,8 &mu;g/mL.
