Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia is still relatively high compared to other countries, especially in Southeast Asia. One of the main causes of maternal mortality is bleeding during childbirth. Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) is a highly effective method of contraception. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the use of long-acting contraception (LARC). The research design used in this study was cross-sectional. The research was conducted in the working area of the Karang Tinggi Community Health Center. The research was conducted in May 2025. The research population was all acceptors recorded in the family planning register in the working area of the Karang Tinggi Community Health Center. The research sample consisted of 80 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed a relationship between age (p value: 0.000) and parity (p value: 0.001) with the choice of contraceptive method. It is recommended that the Community Health Center improve its services, especially counseling on long-term contraceptive methods, in order to reduce the birth rate and improve maternal welfare. Keywords: MKJP, Parity, Age.

Abstract

A Caesarean Section (CS) is a surgical procedure performed by an obstetrician on the mother's abdomen in the uterus. One of the effects of surgery is pain in the stitches. One method to reduce pain is with complementary therapy, back massage. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of back massage on changes in pain scales in post-CS mothers at Genteng Regional General Hospital, Banyuwangi. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design approach with a control group. The subjects of this study were 30 post-CS mothers in the delivery room of Genteng Regional General Hospital, selected by Consecutive Sampling and divided into 2 groups, each consisting of 15 people. The intervention in the form of back massage was given for 3 days with a duration of 20 minutes of back massage. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. The results of this study showed that in the control group, the average pain scale was 5.267 and after receiving post-CS care it became 2.267. In the treatment group, the average pain scale was 5.000 and after receiving intervention it became 1.200. Back massage effectively reduced the pain scale of post-cesarean mothers (ρ = 0.030 < 0.05). These results suggest that midwives can apply back massage therapy as a non-pharmacological complementary therapy for post-cesarean mothers to contribute to reducing pain intensity. Keywords: back massage, post sectio caesarean, level of pain, complementary therapy

Abstract

Padang Panjang City is known as a region with a strong religious character, where the majority of the population is Muslim. This condition creates moral and regulatory responsibilities to ensure the availability of halal products, including in the hospitality sector. This study aims to analyze how halal food assurance is implemented at Muhammadiyah A. Muin Saidi Sharia Hotel in Padang Panjang. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the hotel has provided halal food menus. From an Islamic perspective, the provision of halal food is a religious obligation as stated in Qur'an Surah Al-Baqarah: 168. However, the implementation of halal assurance is not merely understood as an administrative requirement, but as part of an ethical and religious commitment in business management. This practice includes the selection of raw materials, food processing systems, and collaboration with certified halal food suppliers. This study emphasizes that strengthening halal tourism requires synergy between local governments, halal certification institutions, and hospitality industry stakeholders to enhance the competitiveness of Padang Panjang as a halal tourism destination. Keywords: Halal Assurance, Sharia Hotel, Halal Food, Halal Tourism, Religious Commitment

Abstract

Law enforcement against Drug Users, Victims of Drug Abuse and Drug Addicts is regulated in Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, which adopts two justice systems: rehabilitation justice and criminal justice. In efforts to combat drug abuse, the rehabilitation justice system is often neglected by law enforcement officials in Indonesia. Examining several articles in the Drug Law, there is synergy to create a different handling system for Drug Abusers, Victims, and Addicts. Articles 54 and 103 focus more on rehabilitation, while Article 127 provides criminal penalties but also opens up opportunities for rehabilitation for victims. According to normative legal theory, drug addicts are actually victims who suffer from illness and require physical and psychological treatment, as well as support from the community, in order to live a normal life again. Implementing prison sentences alone is not sufficient in accordance with the perspective of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, which provides the right to rehabilitation for users, addicts, and victims of drug abuse, both voluntarily and through a judge's decision. However, the implementation of the right to rehabilitation for drug users in Indonesia has not reached an optimal level due to several obstacles, both internal and external. Law Number 35 of 2009, not only to provide a deterrent effect to perpetrators or prevent others from committing the same act, but also to ensure that perpetrators receive treatment, so they can return to society in a better condition. Keywords :  Rights Protection, Rehabilitation, Users, Victims of Drug Abuse and Drug Addicts

Abstract

Abstract: The implementation of occupational health and safety (OHS) programs in strategic infrastructure projects is influenced by social and organizational determinants, particularly among subcontractor workers who often experience more vulnerable employment conditions. This study analyzed these determinants among 86 subcontractor workers involved in the construction of an airport in City X. Data were collected using structured questionnaires covering socio-demographic characteristics, employment status, social security participation, exposure to OHS policies, supervision practices, and occupational health program indicators. Most respondents were aged 20–35 years (60.5%) and had secondary education (66.3%); 69.8% were daily or piece-rate contract workers, and 57.0% had worked for less than two years. Social security coverage was reported by 72.1%. Safety induction participation reached 82.6%, and 76.7% reported routine toolbox meetings. Although 79.1% were aware of written OHS policies, only 63.9% reported periodic dissemination. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was available for 88.4% of workers, with 73.3% reporting consistent use. Periodic medical examinations were reported by 48.8%, and only 42.0% understood detailed incident reporting procedures. Organizational supervision, structured safety communication, and employment security were associated with stronger implementation of occupational health programs. Keywords: Social Determinants; Organizational Determinants; Occupational Health; Subcontractor Workers; Infrastructure Project Benach, J., Vives, A., Amable, M., Vanroelen, C., Tarafa, G., & Muntaner, C. Abstract

Background The high population growth rate in Indonesia remains a serious concern, one of which is addressed through the Family Planning (FP) program. The selection of contraceptive methods among couples of reproductive age (CRA) is influenced not only by the availability of contraceptive methods but also by the quality of counseling provided by healthcare professionals. Effective counseling plays an important role in helping individuals understand various contraceptive methods, including their benefits, contraindications, and side effects, enabling them to make rational and voluntary decisions. Objective This study aims to analyze the influence of family planning counseling on the selection of contraceptive methods among CRA at UPTD Puskesmas Lumban Lobu, Bonatua Lunasi District, Toba Regency in 2025. Methods This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach. The sample consisted of 67 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and data were analyzed using the paired sample t-test. Results The study found that family planning counseling had a significant effect on contraceptive method selection. Most respondents experienced improved understanding and changes in decision-making after receiving counseling. Conclusion Family planning counseling significantly improves knowledge, decision-making, and contraceptive method selection among couples of reproductive age. Effective counseling helps respondents understand the types, benefits, and side effects of contraceptives, enabling them to choose the method most suitable for their needs. Suggestion Healthcare providers are encouraged to enhance the quality of FP counseling using a more communicative and client-centered approach. Couples of reproductive age are also encouraged to actively seek information and participate in counseling sessions before deciding on a contraceptive method. Keywords: Family Planning Counseling, Contraceptive Method Selection, Couples of Reproductive Age, Family Planning Program

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality on inpatient satisfaction and trust at Dr. Sumantri Level IV Hospital in Parepare, South Sulawesi. A quantitative approach with a survey design was employed. The participants consisted of 87 inpatients selected based on predefined inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that met validity and reliability requirements. Data analysis was conducted using stepwise logistic regression to identify service quality dimensions that significantly influence patient satisfaction and trust. The results indicate that not all service quality dimensions contribute equally to patient satisfaction and trust. After model refinement, responsiveness and assurance emerged as significant predictors, with assurance demonstrating a more dominant effect. These findings indicate that inpatient satisfaction and trust are primarily shaped by the ability of healthcare providers to respond promptly to patient needs and to deliver services that ensure safety, professionalism, and certainty. This study provides empirical contributions to the literature on health service quality management, particularly in the context of regional referral hospitals, and offers practical implications for hospital management in developing service quality improvement strategies that emphasize patient experience and trust. Keywords: Service Quality, Patient Satisfaction, Patient Trust, Inpatient Care, Hospital

Abstract

The Special Allocation Fund is one of the intergovernmental fiscal transfer instruments aimed at supporting the financing of national priority programs and activities as well as improving the quality of public services at the regional level. The success of Special Allocation Fund management is determined not only by the size of the budget allocation but also by the level of budget absorption and the effectiveness of its implementation. This study aims to analyze the level of Special Allocation Fund absorption in Payakumbuh City during the 2021–2025 period, compare the absorption characteristics between Physical Special Allocation Funds and Non-Physical Special Allocation Funds, and identify the factors influencing fund absorption. This study employs a descriptive approach using a quantitative-descriptive method. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget, Budget Realization Reports, and Special Allocation Fund-related documents sourced from the Regional Financial Agency of Payakumbuh City. The analytical techniques applied include the calculation of budget absorption ratios, trend analysis, and comparative analysis between Physical and Non-Physical Special Allocation Funds. The results indicate that the level of Special Allocation Fund absorption in Payakumbuh City generally exceeded 90 percent throughout the observation period, although fluctuations and a decline occurred in 2024. Non-Physical Special Allocation Funds exhibit a relatively more stable absorption level due to their operational and routine nature, whereas Physical Special Allocation Funds encounter constraints during technical planning, procurement of goods and services, and the implementation of activities. The main factors affecting fund absorption include the quality of budget planning, human resource capacity, accuracy of administration and reporting, as well as central government policies and regulations. This study concludes that the management of the Special Allocation Fund in Payakumbuh City has been relatively effective and has contributed to the achievement of regional development objectives. Keywords: Special Allocation Fund, Budget Absorption, Physical Special Allocation Fund, Non-Physical Special Allocation Fund, Regional Finance

Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a pulmonary disorder characterized by shortness of breath, coughing, and excessive sputum production due to damage to the airways (chronic bronchitis) and/or Alveoli (emphysema), which leads to persistent and progressive airflow obstruction. According to data from the World Stroke Organization (2024), COPD causes approximately 3.5 million deaths or about 5% of total global deaths. COPD also ranks seventh as a leading cause of global health problems. If not properly treated, COPD can lead to progressively worsening airflow limitation, resulting in decreased oxygen saturation. One of the interventions that can help improve oxygen saturation is the application of the SemiFowler’s position. The purpose of this case study is to provide emergency nursing care for a COPD patient through the application of the SemiFowler’s position to improve oxygen saturation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Harapan Bunda Hospital, Batam City. The method used is a case study approach through the stages of the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the case study showed that the application of the SemiFowler’s position for three consecutive days in Mrs. M significantly helped improve oxygen saturation. The increase in SpO₂ was observed from 94% to 96% on the third day. The conclusion of this case study is that the SemiFowler’s position is effective in improving oxygen saturation in patients with COPD.Keywords: COPD, SemiFowler’s Position, Oxygen Saturation
