Abstract

The success of blasting activities can be seen from three aspects, namely the absence of accidents, achieving production targets and the absence of impact on the environment. The success of the blasting is influenced by the knowledge, skills and work attitude (competence) of the Blaster. One alternative to increase competence can be done through effective education and training. This study aims to determine the extent of the effectiveness of teaching aids and learning videos in increasing the understanding of training participants on the material presented. This research use a questionnare that is submitted to the participants of Class II Explosive Training Class IV 2021 at PPSDM Geominerba. The results of the questionnaire were processed using statistical methods through several analyzes, namely regression analysis and analysis of variance. From the results of data processing, it is found that there are three variables that have an influence on increasing the understanding of class II Explosive Training participants, namely the use of teaching aids and learning videos can increase the focus of training participants (X1), increase enthusiasm (X2) and reduce the boredom of training participants during training take place (X3). Variable X3 has the greatest influence among the other two variables on increasing participants' understanding. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, it can be seen that teaching aids and learning videos are proven to increase the effectiveness of Class II Explosive Training.

Abstract

Small scale gold mining uses a lot of mercury and cyanide reagents in gold processing without sufficient knowledge and skills in its mineral processing and waste management. As a result, the processing of small scale gold mining becomes an environmental impact in the community because it is still carried out traditionally by ignoring environmental and health impacts, including the selection of inappropriate technology. Therefore, the community needs to be given education and appropriate technology related to process waste management, so that the process carried out is more effective, efficient and reduces the impact on the environment. This activity is a ccommunity service (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) activity, Bandung Polytechnic on Energy and Mining (PEP Bandung) with the theme of Utilization of Adsorbents of Zeolite and Activated Carbon to Reduce Industrial Waste (a case study of gold processing waste treatment in Sukabumi Regency) with the aim that the community around gold processing locations can consciously and independently manage gold processing waste so that: first, the impact on humans and the environment can be minimized and secondly, the use of process water can be reused effectively and efficiently. The method used is to test the absorption of metals dissolved in cyanide solution and see the percentage of dissolved metal absorption in activated carbon. The results obtained are that activated carbon is able to absorb metals especially mercury (Hg), gold (Au), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn) and arsenic (As). As part of the social activity to the community, it has been prepared simple equipment to absorb metal dissolved in a cyanide solution that can be utilized in a waste pond of mining gold processing community in Simpenan District, Sukabumi Regency.

Abstract

This study focus on the movement of the fault that caused an earthquake on October 16, 2021 at 03:18:23 WITA with an earthquake magnitude of 4.8 Mw. The epicenter of the earthquake on land was at coordinates 115.45° East Longitude and 8.32° South Latitude with a depth of 10 km. The purpose of this study was to identify the presence of an active fault zone and to determine the fault kinematics in Ban Karangasem. The method used is SRTM DEM Image Analysis, Tectonic Geomorphology Approach, and Geological Mapping. Secondary data collected by GIS (Geographical Information System), and primary data collected by field surveying to observe the existing deformation and topography to determine the geometry and kinematics of an active fault. Focal Mecanism Analysis also used to determine the kinematics active fault, data sources published by BMKG. The results showed there are geological structures in the Buyan Beratan and Batur Purba Formation (Qpvb) and the Agung Volcano Formation (Qhva) in the study area. The geological structure is in the form of shear dan gash fracture, right slip fault, left normal slip fault, and left slip fault. The fault is classified as an active fault and cuts young rock, with an estimated fault zone length of 18 km with 5 fault segments. The existence of this fault zone is influenced by subduction activities in the south of Bali Island between the Eurasian Continental Plate and the Indo-Australian Ocean Plate.

Abstract

Based on the blasting analysis with air decking on the distance of flying rock throws, there are three parameters of blasting geometry that affect flying rock throws, namely the height of the water deck column, the height of the stemming column, and the initial burden distance. Based on the standard deviation value, the calculation of the predicted distance of flying rock throws uses the theory of Richard and Moore's cratering type, resulting in a prediction of the distance of flying rock throws that are close to the actual distance of Flying Rock throws. In order to distance the flying rock <150 m, the recommendation for blasting geometry at the initial burden minimum is 3.25 m and maximum is 4 m and the height of the stemming column is added 0.65 m from the actual stemming height and height the air deck column is reduced by 0.65 m from the actual air deck height.
