Abstract

This article presents a critical review of Morgan Housel’s bestselling book, "The Psychology of Money", through the lens of behavioral finance. Housel argues that financial outcomes are driven more by human behavior and psychological factors than by technical knowledge or intelligence. The review evaluates key themes in the book—such as risk, luck, greed, patience, compounding, and the emotional dimensions of money-while linking them to foundational theories in behavioral economics by scholars like Kahneman, Tversky, Thaler, and Shefrin. Although the book lacks formal empirical methodology, its narrative-driven approach effectively communicates complex financial ideas to a broad audience. The review also highlights the pedagogical value of the book and its relevance to personal finance education. Limitations regarding academic rigor and global applicability are discussed. Overall, the review underscores the importance of incorporating behavioral perspectives into financial decision-making.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of organizational culture and organizational commitment on employee performance, with individual motivation as a moderating variable at PT. Bank Papua Biak Branch. The population consisted of 57 employees, including permanent, contract (PKWT), and interns, with sampling conducted using a non-probability technique. Data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Results show that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, indicating that stronger culture leads to higher performance. Meanwhile, organizational commitment has a positive but insignificant effect, suggesting that commitment alone is not sufficient to improve outcomes. Individual motivation strengthens the link between culture and performance, as motivated employees reinforce the role of culture in enhancing results. However, motivation does not moderate the relationship between commitment and performance. Based on these findings, management is advised to reinforce organizational culture through training, value dissemination, and exemplary leadership. Organizational commitment can be improved through participatory management, while motivation should be supported by fair rewards, career opportunities, recognition, and a positive work environment. Future studies are encouraged to explore other moderating variables, such as job satisfaction, organizational climate, or leadership style, for more comprehensive insights.

Abstract

Isu global seperti perubahan iklim dan degradasi lingkungan telah menciptakan kebutuhan pendanaan besar untuk proyek berkelanjutan, menjadikan green bond sebagai instrumen keuangan yang penting. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis pengaruh kebijakan moneter (Suku Bunga Bank Sentral, Nilai Tukar, Cadangan Devisa, dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi) dan indikator lingkungan (Emisi Karbon, dan Konsumsi Energi Terbarukan) terhadap penerbitan Green Bond di 21 negara berkembang pada tahun 2015Q1-2O24Q4. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh jangka pendek dan jangka panjang menggunakan metode analisis Pooled Mean Group (PMG). Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa dalam jangka pendek, konsumsi energi terbarukan memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap penerbitan green bond. Sementara dalam jangka panjang, suku bunga bank sentral dan nilai tukar memiliki pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap penerbitan green bond, sebaliknya cadangan devisa, pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan konsumsi energi terbarukan memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap penerbitan green bond.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Liquidity, Net Working Capital, and Firm Efficiency on financial performance measured by Return on Assets (ROA) in food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period. The control variables include Firm Size, Financial Leverage, Firm Age, and Growth Rate. The sample consists of 55 companies selected through purposive sampling based on the completeness of financial reports and the presentation of data in Rupiah. The analysis was conducted using panel data–based multiple linear regression. The results show that Current Ratio, Net Working Capital, and Total Asset Turnover have a significant positive effect on ROA. Conversely, Firm Size and Financial Leverage have a significant negative effect, while Firm Age and Growth Rate do not exhibit a meaningful influence. These findings highlight the importance of managing liquidity, working capital, and asset efficiency. For future research, it is recommended to expand the scope to other industrial sectors for more generalizable results, include alternative performance indicators such as ROE, and incorporate external variables such as market risk and economic conditions to provide a more comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi perilaku keuangan Generasi Z (Gen Z) di Indonesia, khususnya dalam penggunaan layanan pinjaman online. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah meningkatnya ketergantungan Gen Z pada platform pinjaman digital, yang menimbulkan kekhawatiran terhadap kerentanan finansial dan risiko utang. Gen Z, sebagai kelompok demografi yang tumbuh di era digital, sangat terbuka terhadap inovasi teknologi dan produk keuangan digital, sehingga lebih rentan terhadap peluang sekaligus risiko. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur dengan individu berusia 17–28 tahun yang pernah atau sedang menggunakan layanan pinjaman online. Analisis difokuskan pada pengalaman, persepsi, dan motivasi mereka dalam mengambil keputusan keuangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan keuangan jangka pendek yang mendesak, pola gaya hidup konsumtif, serta kemudahan dan kecepatan akses pinjaman online menjadi faktor utama yang membentuk perilaku pinjaman Gen Z. Selain itu, paparan promosi semakin mendorong adopsi pinjaman, sementara rendahnya literasi keuangan meningkatkan kerentanan terhadap risiko finansial dan penumpukan utang. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis terhadap pemahaman perilaku keuangan Gen Z di era digital. Secara praktis, penelitian ini menawarkan wawasan bagi regulator, penyedia layanan keuangan, dan pendidik untuk merancang strategi perlindungan konsumen, literasi keuangan digital, dan kampanye pinjaman bertanggung jawab yang lebih relevan bagi generasi muda.

Abstract

Firm value is one of the key indicators in the capital market that reflects stakeholders’ perceptions of a company’s performance and prospects. Changes in firm value can be influenced by various factors that illustrate a company’s ability to achieve business success. This study aims to analyze the effect of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on firm value in manufacturing companies within the Food and Beverage sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. The independent variables in this study consist of the Board of Commissioners, Board of Directors, Managerial Ownership, and CSR disclosure, while the dependent variable is firm value measured using the Tobin’s Q ratio. This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from companies’ financial statements and sustainability reports. The sample comprises 12 companies with a total of 60 observations. Data analysis was performed using panel data regression with the Common Effect Model (CEM) approach through EViews 12 software. The results indicate that GCG and CSR simultaneously have a significant effect on firm value. Partially, the Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors show a negative effect on firm value, while the Audit Committee has no significant influence. Meanwhile, CSR disclosure has a positive and significant effect on firm value. These findings are consistent with the Signalling Theory, which suggests that CSR disclosure provides a positive signal to investors as it reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility and business sustainability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif stabilitas keuangan, efisiensi operasional, potensi financial distress, dan tingkat kesehatan Bank Panin Dubai Syariah (BPDS) selama periode 2020–2024. Penilaian ini diimplementasikan dengan menggabungkan dua instrumen utama: pendekatan RGEC (Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earnings, Capital) yang ditetapkan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, dan metode prediktif Altman Z-Score untuk mengestimasi probabilitas kebangkrutan. Data yang dianalisis merupakan data sekunder, terutama berasal dari laporan keuangan tahunan BPDS serta publikasi resmi terkait. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya variasi kinerja yang signifikan pada beberapa indikator, di mana aspek profitabilitas dan kualitas aset diidentifikasi sebagai area yang membutuhkan perbaikan lebih lanjut. Meskipun demikian, rasio permodalan secara konsisten memperlihatkan posisi yang kuat dan stabil, memberikan buffer yang memadai untuk menopang risiko operasional di tengah fluktuasi indikator kinerja lainnya. Berdasarkan evaluasi tingkat kesehatan secara keseluruhan dan hasil prediksi Z-Score, penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kualitas aset, penguatan manajemen risiko pembiayaan, dan strategi optimalisasi struktur permodalan untuk memastikan stabilitas keuangan jangka panjang dan ketahanan bank.
