Abstract

The disruption caused by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology presents new challenges for digital creative workers in Indonesia. On one hand, AI offers efficiency in content production; on the other hand, concerns arise about the displacement of human roles, imitation of artistic styles, and a decline in the originality value of works. This study aims to understand public responses to this phenomenon by leveraging big data through opinion analysis on social media platform X and labor market trend analysis based on job vacancy data from the JobStreet website. Utilizing the IndoBERT language model trained via a few-shot learning approach using the SetFit framework, sentiment analysis reveals a dominance of negative sentiment (65.65%), while emotion detection uncovers that anger (24.34%) and disgust (22.57%) are the most prominent emotional reactions. Public discussions largely highlight issues related to digital art, the use of image generators, animation production, and content automation, which generally reflect concerns about potential shifts in values and roles within the creative industry. Meanwhile, labor market data show that digital creative job vacancies declined in 2025 compared to 2022, with geographic concentration still centered in the Java Island, particularly in Jakarta. The findings of this study are expected to open opportunities for further research to deepen understanding of the impact of AI disruption on digital creative workers and provide an initial overview for related policy formulation.

Abstract

Marriage plays a vital role in a country’s demographic dynamics. However, Indonesia has seen a decline in marriage rates over the past decade. Changes in social and economic structures have contributed to the increasing phenomenon of delayed marriage, particularly among women. This trend has also influenced the Total Fertility Rate (TFR), especially in Java, where five out of six provinces reported a TFR below 2.1 in 2024. Delayed marriage among women is a critical issue due to its implications for reproductive health, as the reproductive age for women is limited to 15–49 years. This study analyzes factors influencing delayed marriage among ever-married women in early adulthood in Java Island in 2024. The method used is multilevel binary logistic regression. The results show that region classification, education level, employment status, savings ownership, and sex ratio significantly affect the likelihood of delayed marriage among this group of women.

Abstract

Maternal and child health is a top priority in national development, given that high maternal and infant mortality rates remain a significant challenge in Indonesia. Disparities in health indicators between regions indicate that existing inequalities remain insufficiently addressed. This study aims to group 38 provinces in Indonesia based on 14 maternal and child health indicators for 2024 to identify patterns of disparity. The method used is Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering with multicollinearity tests (VIF) and KMO for data validation. The complete linkage method was selected for its optimal performance, yielding an agglomerative coefficient of 0.742 and the highest silhouette value of 0.2099 at K = 6. The results formed six clusters reflecting similarities in regional characteristics. Several provinces in Papua clustered separately due to their low health indicator achievements. These findings emphasize the need for region-specific intervention policies to address disparities and promote equitable improvements in maternal and child health.

Abstract

Workers must receive decent wages to meet living needs. Formal female workers have employment protection, but their wages are still inadequate, especially in non-government sector. East Java contributes greatly to national economy with high percentage of women working, but their wages are relatively low. This study aims to determine the description of inadequate wages also identify the influence and tendencies of individual and city variables on the inadequate wages of formal non-government female workers in East Java using Sakernas August 2023 and BPS publication. The results of multilevel binary logistic regression show that at the individual level, education level, certified training participation, work experience, and union participation, also female Human Development Index as variable at the city level, significantly affect the inadequate wages of formal non-government female workers in East Java. Attention should be on education, skill development, experience, union, and live quality in working area to overcome the problem.

Abstract

Fisheries production in Central Java Province experiences seasonal fluctuations that affect supply stability and fishermen's income. This study aims to analyze the production trends from 2013 to 2023 and compare the performance of the SARIMA and Random Forest models in forecasting fishery production sold at Fish Auction Sites (TPI). Based on evaluation metrics including MAE, RMSE, and MAPE, the SARIMA(8,1,1)(1,1,0)[12] model demonstrated the best performance with values of 2930.12, 3749.83, and 15.40, respectively. Additionally, the SARIMA model was used to forecast production for January 2024, resulting in an estimated output of 26,210.63 tons. This forecast is expected to assist stakeholders in monitoring fishery production in Central Java Province.

Abstract

Java Island is the center of the Indonesian economy with its largest contribution and high population density. However, unemployment remains a problem, and each region has different local characteristics. The indicator for measuring unemployment is the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT). Therefore, this study aims to determine the overview and factors influencing unemployment in districts/cities on Java Island, taking into account spatial heterogeneity in 2024. The data used are sourced from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The analytical method used is Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). The results show that unemployment in each district/city is influenced by different factors. The TPAK and UMK have the greatest influence on the TPT in districts/cities on Java Island in 2024. The government needs to take a broader and more comprehensive approach to addressing unemployment, taking into account the specific conditions of each region.

Abstract

Rice is a strategic food commodity whose price movements directly impact the economy and public welfare, particularly the SPHP (Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices) rice distributed by Perum Bulog. To maintain food security, data recentness is crucial to understand rice price fluctuation patterns and volatility characteristics across areas. This study uses data obtained through web crawling from the digital platform of the National Food Price Panel (PHPN) as a novel digital data source. The analysis results indicate that, in general, SPHP rice prices do not fluctuate significantly, but they remain sensitive to specific events, showing temporary volatility that tends to stabilize over time. The segmentation results reveal three regional clusters with distinct volatility characteristics. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating more effective and accurately targeted food policies.

Abstract

The gender gap in participation as digital workers has persisted in recent years, even as the sector undergoes rapid growth and emerges as a major economic opportunity. This disparity is a critical concern, as women, who are often positioned within structurally disadvantaged groups, face a heightened risk of exclusion amid the ongoing digital transformation. This study analyzes opportunities to become digital workers, both in the formal and informal sectors, using microdata from the August 2023 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas). An official statistics approach is applied through decent work indicators, and a multinomial logistic regression model is employed to examine gender-based disparities. The results indicate that women have significantly lower chances than men of being employed as digital worker, whether formal or informal. These findings underscore the need for affirmative policy interventions to improve women’s access to digital skills training, flexible work arrangements, and social protection within the digital economy.

Abstract

Poverty is a global issue faced not only by Indonesia but also by many other developing countries. Poverty alleviation has become a top priority in the sustainable development agenda, one of which is through job creation. Employment availability is considered a crucial factor in driving economic and social development. However, the relationship between employment and poverty is not always linear. This is evident in Jambi Province, where the poverty rate is higher than the open unemployment rate (OUR). This study focuses on analyzing the factors that influence the poverty status of workers in Jambi Province. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the 2023 National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS). Using Firth logistic regression, the results show that the number of household members, marital status, age, education level, area of residence, and number of working hours significantly affect the poverty status of workers.

Abstract

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Indonesia continues to show positive trends, yet regional disparities remain a significant challenge. This study aims to cluster regencies and municipalities in Indonesia based on ICT development indicators using the non-hierarchical K-Means clustering method. The data were derived from the 2024 SUSENAS survey, using four key variables: mobile phone ownership, computer literacy, internet usage, and average years of schooling. The analysis identified three major clusters with varying ICT development characteristics. The highest-performing cluster is dominated by urban areas, while the lowest-performing cluster is concentrated in eastern Indonesia. These findings highlight a significant digital divide, indicating the need for affirmative policies to promote equitable access, usage, and digital skills development across the country.
