Abstract

Tomat juga digunakan berkhasiat sebagai obat.  Tomat mengandung berbagai zat-zat gizi yang sangat bermanfaat bagi tubuh manusia, sehingga tomat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber vitamin C dan vitamin A. Peningkatan produksi tomat dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan teknologi hidroponik berbasis larutan nutrisi AB Mix dapat meningkatkan kualitas produksi tomat yang dihasilkan, karena rendahnya serangan hama dan penyakit pada tanaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak kelompok (RAL) non Faktorial dengan perlakuan konsentrasi Nutrisi (N), terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu : N1 = 800 ppm, N2 = 900 ppm, N3 = 1000 ppm, N4 = 1100 ppm dan N5 = 1200 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi nutrisi AB Mix berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot basah akar, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap kadar air relatif daun, umur berbunga, kandungan klorofil a, b dan total. Pemberian konsentrasi AB Mix di atas 800 ppm dapat menurunkan bobot basah akar, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar tanaman tomat

Abstract

Spinach is one of the most important needs for humans, but spinach production in Indonesia has decreased from year to year, so it needs improvement in terms of cultivation technology. The purpose of this study was to analyze the interaction between varieties of spinach and the dose of organic seaweed fertilizer on spinach production; analyzed the dose of organic seaweed fertilizer on spinach production and analyzed the effect of spinach varieties on spinach production. This study was arranged in a factorial randomized block design (RBD), which consisted of two factors, the first factor was the variety of spinach (b) which consisted of two levels, namely green spinach variety Giti Hijau (b1) and red spinach variety Giti Merah (b2), the second factor is the dose of organic fertilizer (d) which consists of 4 levels, namely control (d0), 2 mL/L water (d1), 3 mL/L water (d2), 4 mL/L water (d3). The treatment was divided into 3 blocks as repetition. Data analysis used ANOVA and follow-up test with a DMRT level of 5%. The results showed that the variety of spinach had a significant effect on plant height from 3 to 5 WAP, the number of leaves at 2 WAP and 3 WAP, and the fresh weight of spinach. Fertilizer dosage did not significantly affect plant height, number of leaves, root length, fresh weight, and dry weight of plants . There was no interaction between spinach varieties and doses of organic seaweed fertilizer on all growth parameters and production of spinach.

Abstract

Salah satu tanaman yang memberikan semua nutrisi yang dibutuhkan tubuh adalah pakcoy. Selain padat nutrisi, pakcoy tinggi protein, serat, lemak nabati, karbohidrat, kalsium, magnesium, zat besi, natrium, serta vitamin A dan vitamin C. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama pemberian nutrisi dan beberapa media tumbuh organik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca di Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Nias berada di ketinggian ± 30 meter di atas permukaan laut. Penelitian ini dilakukan mulai Januari 2024 sampai Februari 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah (RPT) dengan lama pemberian nutrisi sebagai petak utama terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu : A1 = 8 jam, A2 = 16 jam, A3 = 24 jam, dan media tumbuh organik sebagai anak petak terdiri dari 3 jenis yaitu : M1 = Arang Sekam, M2 = Cocopeat, M3 = Limbah Jamur Tiram. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan lama pemberian nutrisi dan penggunaan berbagai jenis media tumbuh organik tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy, termasuk panjang daun, jumlah daun, berat segar per sampel, berat segar per petak, berat akar per tanaman, dan berat akar per petak.

Abstract

Soil microorganisms play an important role in increasing nutrient availability for maize plants through the processes of nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization, and humic acid production. These processes not only increase maize productivity but also reduce dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers, thus supporting agricultural sustainability. This study explores the benefits of microorganisms such as Rhizobium, Azospirillum, Pseudomonas, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in enhancing nutrient uptake, protecting plants from environmental stress, and improving soil quality. Challenges in the application of microorganism technology include adaptation to diverse environmental conditions and low farmer adoption. However, advances in genomic technology and biotechnology open up opportunities to optimize the benefits of soil microorganisms. The implementation of this microorganism-based technology has the potential to support efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable maize farming.

Abstract

Low feed quality in fish culture reduces fish digestibility; therefore, the feed quality needs improvement. An effort to increase the nutritional value of feed is by adding probiotics. However, on the one hand, feed residues that form organic and inorganic compounds can affect water quality in the cultivation medium; on the other hand, suitable water quality plays a vital role in fish farming. Adding probiotics containing microorganisms, such as EM4 probiotics, can benefit aquaculture businesses. Probiotic EM4 (Effective Microorganisms), one of the probiotics given in fish farming, is a brown liquid with a sweet and aromatic taste, containing a mixed culture of fermentative microorganisms, namely lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus casei) and yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). This research is a literature review with data from various relevant articles assembled from Google Scholar, accredited journals, textbooks, and theses. In conclusion, it can be presumed that using EM4 probiotics in aquaculture has beneficial effects, including improving the quality of aquaculture water, increasing the growth rate of fish, suppressing pathogenicity, and reducing feed conversion. ABSTRAK Kualitas pakan yang rendah dalam akuakultur menyebabkan daya cerna ikan menjadi kurang optimal. Oleh karena itu, kualitas nutrisi pakan yang lebih baik perlu ditingkatkan. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan nilai gizi pakan adalah dengan menambahkan probiotik. Namun di satu sisi, residu pakan yang membentuk senyawa organik dan anorganik dapat mempengaruhi kualitas air pada media budidaya; di sisi lain, kualitas air adalah salah satu faktor penting yang berperan dalam budidaya ikan. Penambahan probiotik yang mengandung mikroorganisme, seperti probiotik EM4, dapat menguntungkan usaha perikanan budidaya. Probiotik EM4 (Effective Microorganisms), salah satu probiotik yang diberikan dalam usaha budidaya ikan, merupakan cairan berwarna coklat dengan rasa manis dan aromatik, yang mengandung kultur campuran mikroorganisme fermentatif yaitu bakteri asam laktat (Lactobacillus casei) dan ragi (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Penelitian ini merupakan literature review (kajian literatur) dengan data yang bersumber dari berbagai artikel relevan yang diperoleh dari google schoolar, jurnal terakreditasi, text book, skripsi, dan lain-lain. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan probiotik EM4 dalam perikanan budidaya memberikan dampak menguntungkan, antara lain: memperbaiki kualitas air akuakultur, meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan ikan, menekan patogenitas, dan memperkecil konversi pakan. Abstract

This study examines the main pests and diseases that attack cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens) plants grown in polybags. In Indonesia, this crop is in high demand for both household and industrial use. Nonetheless, farmers often face challenges from pest and disease attacks, including anthracnose, fusarium wilt and stem rot, leading to reduced yields. The methodology used was a literature review covering various sources related to cayenne pepper. Findings show that important diseases such as anthracnose can reduce yields by up to 80%, while pests such as fruit flies can cause chili fruits to drop prematurely before harvest. Effective pest and disease management is essential to increase the productivity of cayenne pepper cultivated in polybags.

Abstract

4A zeolite complex derived from coal has been successfully synthesized through the preparation of fractionated samples, analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS), resulting in a chemical composition of silica (SiO2) 24.78% and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) 29.60%. The fly ash produced from this fractionation is used as the base material for the synthesis of 4A zeolite. The fly ash is reacted with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) at room temperature, yielding a gel that is subsequently crystallized into 4A zeolite through a reflux process. The resulting zeolite crystals are then supplemented with Al2O3 and disodium dihydrogen ethylenediaminetetraacetate (Na2EDTA) as sources of aluminum to achieve a molar ratio of Si/Al = 1.42. Optimal quality 4A zeolite crystals were obtained from the synthesis of 5.9351 g of medium fraction fly ash, along with 1 g Al2O3, 4 g NaOH, and 0.569 g Na2EDTA. Infrared (IR) characterization results indicate that the optimal 4A zeolite from medium fraction fly ash is characterized by crystals with the addition of 1.5 g of Al2O3. Wide absorption bandwidths are typically caused by large spectral line widths, which can occur if a significant amount of energy is absorbed by various vibrational modes, assuming that excess Al2O3 leads to the formation of functional groups that contribute to the same band. A peak at a wavelength of 564 cm-1 indicates double ring stretching vibrations, while a peak at 661 cm-1 indicates symmetric stretching vibrations of the zeolite framework. Meanwhile, peaks at wavelengths of 3460.86 cm-1 and 974.71 cm-1 indicate detected O-H absorption

Abstract

A legume crop with strategic importance in meeting national food needs, groundnuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) have the ability to be grown in arid regions. However, boosting this crop's output is hampered by low rainfall and soil fertility. This study uses a literature review technique to scientific journals for the 2021–2025 period in order to determine the impact of planting distance and organic fertilizer dosage on peanut development and yield in drylands. The analysis's findings demonstrate that ideal spacing, like 40 cm by 20 cm or 30 cm by 15 cm, can greatly boost peanut seed output and vegetative growth. Meanwhile, the application of organic fertilizers such as manure and biochar is proven to improve soil physical and chemical properties, increase water retention, and support nutrient absorption by plants. The synergy between proper spacing and organic fertilizer application can increase yields by more than 30%, and support sustainable cultivation systems on marginal land.
