Abstract

The reason behind this community service is that there are several obstacles in the learning process, such as a lack of students' interest in participating in the learning process and the media used being less interesting or too ordinary. The learning process is not optimal, so some students get results below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). Learning outcomes are influenced by several factors, one of which is the role in conveying lesson material; a person needs learning media to support the information they convey, be it visual or audio-visual media. The development of these media was carried out to make the subject matter in the learning process easy for students to understand. To help increase students' interest and motivation to learn, the author tried to create an e-book using the PowerPoint and Anyflip applications. The author uses the e-book learning media development method by utilizing the PowerPoint and Anyflip applications, where through the Anyflip application, teachers are taught to develop PowerPoint material into e-books so that learning activities can provide new experiences for students and can increase participants' interest and learning outcomes in mathematics educate.

Abstract

Implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary school motivates this community service program. The implementation of this curriculum highlighted English teaching in Elementary school. Based on the initial need analysis study, it was found that the Elementary schools in Bungo Dani need training in teaching media development to support teaching English to young learners. This training involved 25 Elementary school teachers as the participants. Those participants were introduced and trained to prepare and develop the teaching media.

Abstract

Strengthening supervision in educational institutions at various levels, one at the junior secondary school level, is very important. Principals, as supervisors and vice-principals for curriculum, are the key people who will assist teachers in proper supervision. Recognizing the importance of the above, it is necessary to provide supervisory guidance from the community in line with the direction of strengthening school-based supervision. This Community Service activity (PKM), held on May 4, 2024, will strengthen supervision in State Junior High School (SMPN) educational institutions. The method used is to provide enlightenment through training to Principals, Vice Principals for Curriculum, and Teachers using lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer methods. The results of this PKM activity show that the principals and teachers can formulate a school-based supervision model from various supervision models that can be applied in each school, both in the SMPN 1 Dampit Sub Rayon and SMPN 1 Kalipare Sub Rayon. In this program, they can formulate various supervision models such as situational leadership, humanistic, cura personalis, learning supervision, and school-based supervision effectiveness models that can be implemented in these schools.

Abstract

Developing teacher competency is an essential thing that must be done both from internal and external encouragement. To contribute to the field of education, the community service team of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya held teacher professional development training in the use of multimodal literacy in learning at SMP Negeri 27 Surabaya. The selection of the school was made in accordance with the collaboration agreement that both sides had drafted. The method used was a workshop held in 2 days with stages (1) Needs analysis, (2) First training; speakers' material delivery, (3) Second training; application usage practice, and (4) Evaluation; product creation by participants and contested. This activity provides a positive impact on teacher skills in preparing and carrying out lessons utilizing multimodal-based media in order to meet the needs of diverse learning styles of students and increase students' enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

Adolescents face complex health problems, even though they have long been considered a healthy group. From several surveys it is known how big the problems faced by teenagers are, as can be seen from the following data: The 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) shows that 17% of women currently aged 45-49 years were married at the age of 15. The aim of this service is to see the influence of gender, height, weight on blood pressure and blood sugar in adolescents. The population in this study were MAN I Muara Bungo students, and the research sample was MAN I Bungo students who took part in scout extracurricular activities and took part in end-of-year camp activities. The total sample was 50 people consisting of 2 supervisors and 48 MAN I Bungo students. The results showed that there was no relationship between gender and blood sugar, gender and blood pressure, height and blood sugar, body weight and blood sugar, and body weight and blood pressure (p=0.787; p=0.158; p=0.990 ; p=0.179; p=0.470). Another thing shows that there is a relationship between height and blood pressure (p=0.009).

Abstract

This community service aims to improve teacher skills and utilize materials used as creative learning media. This community service program involves teachers to facilitate the implementation of effective and quality learning. Use materials to make learning media, such as ice cream sticks, drink bottles, cardboard, paper, etc. This material is used to provide learning media that can be used according to the needs of teachers and students in the environment around the school. For this reason, there is teacher creativity in learning by utilizing used materials. Used materials are no longer used and can be found in the surrounding environment, where they sometimes pile up and are often thrown away or burned. The benefits of used materials include processing or recycling, such as making cardboard with geometric shapes, ice cream sticks with numbers attached to them, drink bottles made with bowling letters, bottle caps that are given various colors, and drink glasses that can be used as containers for entering numbers or letter. The evaluation was carried out to evaluate teachers' knowledge and skills regarding training in making learning media using used materials after the community service program was implemented. The results of this Community Service benefit teachers and students by allowing them to gain knowledge and skills that can be applied to learning by conditioning the surrounding environment. Using the materials used, teachers can increase creativity and skills in designing learning media effectively and with quality.

Abstract

Climate change is increasingly impacting public health, including the heightened risk of diseases due to changing weather patterns and air quality. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of health education in enhancing the knowledge of students at MAN 1 Muara Bungo regarding adaptation efforts related to climate change. The sample consists of 50 individuals, including mentors and students actively involved in scout activities. The results indicate a significant increase in students' knowledge after participating in the health education sessions, with the average score rising from 44.463 to 54.33. These findings suggest that health education based on healthy lifestyle practices can be an effective intervention in improving community preparedness, particularly among the youth, to face health challenges posed by climate change.

Abstract

Anak-anak usia sekolah dasar sering kali lalai mencuci tangan dengan sabun, yang mana ini adalah sebuah kebiasaan yang mencerminkan pola hidup bersih serta sehat. Mencuci tangan pakai sabun melibatkan pembersihan tangan serta jari-jari tangan, untuk menjaga tangan tetap bersih dan menghentikan penyebaran kuman. Meski sederhana, kegiatan ini patut didorong karena dapat meningkatkan kesehatan semua orang di sekolah, terutama generasi muda. Dalam upaya menjaga kesehatan, proyek pengabdian masyarakat, Mahasiswa Kesehatan Masyarakat UIN Sumut berupaya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran tentang CTPS. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yakni untuk mengedukasi serta mempraktekkan cuci tangan pada siswa SDN 101740 Tanjung Selamat Kecamatan Sunggal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di tanggal 11 Mei- 28 Mei 2024. Anak- anak kelas V- A SDN 101740 mengikuti kegiatan ini dan berjumlah sekitar 20 orang. Implementasi kegiatan pengabdian ini memanfaatkan sistem ceramah serta penyuluhan terkait CTPS kepada anak- anak. Proses penyusunan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuisioner pre-test serta post-test untuk mengukur kualitas pemahaman peserta antara sebelum penyuluhan dengan setelah kegiatan. Rata-rata pengetahuan meningkat dari 76% naik 85% berdasarkan hasil sebelum serta sesudah tes. Kemahiran siswa ketika menjelaskan langkah cuci tangan pakai sabun yang tepat serta memberikan jawaban yang akurat dan cermat mengenai pertanyaan yang diajukan dalam hal ini. Peningkatan pemahaman ini dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan prosedur CTPS yang lebih baik dengan tujuan untuk mengajarkan siswa akan bergunanya cuci tangan pakai sabun serta teknik yang benar serta teliti untuk melakukannya. Diharapkan setelah mendapat pembinaan ini, siswa mampu memelihara kebersihan, khususnya kebersihan tangan, dengan rajin mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun agar terhindar dari penyakit menular.

Abstract

Panti asuhan adalah suatu lembaga kesejahteraan sosial yang bertanggung  jawab  dalam  melakukan  pelayanan,  penyantunan  dan  pengentasan  anak  terlantar. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan agar anak dapat melewati masa pertumbuhan dalam kondisi yang optimal, dapat dilakukan dengan penerapan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di Panti Asuhan Yayasan Nur Hidayah Surakarta, belum semua warga panti mengerti mengenai pola hidup sehat. Oleh karena itu, perlu pendampingan untuk memberikan edukasi kesehatan, dengan tujuan menumbuhkan rasa peduli dan sikap tanggung jawab anak-anak untuk menjaga kesehatan. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan, meliputi edukasi mengenai pencegahan covid, perilaku hidup sehat, dan cuci tangan dengan benar. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran warga Panti Asuhan Nur Hidayah serta tumbuhnya rasa peduli dan sikap tanggung jawab untuk menjaga kesehatan.

Abstract

Kanggotan is located in the area of Tugurejo Village, Tempuran District, Magelang Regency. Tugurejo Village has 2 educational institutions, MI Tugurejo and SD Negeri Tugurejo. Based on the results of observations and interviews with the principal, information was obtained that SD Negeri Tugurejo has a physical condition of the school that is not so large, the location is not strategic, and most students are from underprivileged family backgrounds with relatively low incomes, the purpose of this service is to develop the potential of children related to their interests and talents to have a good career plan and introduce various applications and websites to the teacher council. To bring an interesting teaching and learning process to students, especially about career planning. Efforts to overcome these problems include providing career planning guidance and improving students' life skills at SD Negeri Tugurejo as a provision for continuing their careers. The method of implementing the service is to provide career planning training to students and socialization of career planning to teachers and parents of students; the results of this service program are career learning media in the form of career snake and ladder games that can be used by teachers, making pamphlets of motivational words with the theme of career planning, the understanding of the mindset of students and parents of students towards career planning.
