Abstract

Digital technology, especially social media, can now be considered a platform for people to exchange ideas, information, lifestyles, socialize, and other things. In addition, it has brought significant changes to various aspects of people's lives, including in coastal areas. Social media not only functions as a means of communication but also as an important platform for various social, economic, and cultural activities. The Belawan District, which is a coastal area in the city of Medan, has a unique community, with the majority of its population depending on the fisheries, trade, and small and medium-sized businesses for their livelihoods. In coastal communities, social media has been utilized as a tool for interaction and information to promote businesses. Fishermen, dealers, and local groups have begun to adapt social media as a strategy to expand their networks and increase their income. However, this will be difficult to implement. Even though the use of social media is increasing, there are still various challenges, such as limited internet access, low digital literacy, and the potential for negative impacts, such as the spread of hoaxes and uneducational content, which can lead to the decline of children in coastal areas. The urgency of this research lies in the need to understand how social media can be effectively utilized in the lives of coastal communities to overcome the various problems they face. This study aims to examine how social media is used among coastal communities in Belawan District, including the factors that influence its use, the impacts it has, and the opportunities that can be exploited to improve their welfare. The research method used to solve this problem is qualitative research.

Abstract

This research analyzed the development strategies of super priority tourism in increasing economic growth in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants include local government officials, tourism business actors, MSME actors, and local communities around tourist destinations. The data were analyzed using SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors influencing the development of super priority tourism. The results indicate that Labuan Bajo has significant strengths, such as world-class natural and cultural tourism potential, strong government policy support, and improved tourism infrastructure. Opportunities include increasing domestic and international tourist interest and strong support from central government programs. However, several weaknesses and threats were identified, including limited human resource quality, economic disparities among local communities, and environmental pressures. The appropriate development strategy is to optimize tourism potential through infrastructure enhancement, MSME empowerment, human resource development, tourism promotion digitalization, and the implementation of sustainable tourism principles. The development of super priority tourism in Labuan Bajo has positively contributed to regional economic growth and improved local community welfare.

Abstract

Adolescents often engage in criminal acts, a phenomenon referred to as Juvenile Delinquency. Crimes committed by juveniles are generally minor offenses that mostly cause material harm. However, there are also cases where juveniles commit serious crimes such as murder. What is particularly concerning is that in some cases, the murder is not committed against strangers, but rather involves members of the juvenile’s own family.Problem Identification in This Juridical Research What are the factors that lead juveniles to commit murder against their family members?  How can juvenile-perpetrated familial murder be addressed and prevented? This study uses a qualitative research method with a normative juridical approach This study explains, first, the factors that lead children to commit acts of murder against their family, using social control theory as the analytical framework. It was found that the most dominant factor is the family's role in child-rearing.Second,  efforts to address crimes committed by children who murder family members involve both penal and non-penal approaches, with a greater emphasis on non-penal measures to prevent the recurrence of similar offenses. The conclusion of this study is that juvenile-perpetrated murder against family members is influenced by both internal and external negative factors. The prevention and control of crimes committed by children should not be the sole responsibility of the state; rather, society must also play an active role in educating children as part of non-penal efforts to prevent juvenile crime. "The researcher suggests that the Ministry of Social Affairs is expected to strengthen intervention programs for at-risk families, including providing assistance to children living in dysfunctional family environments, in order to prevent aggressive behavior. It is also hoped that law enforcement will impose penalties in accordance with the applicable laws."Keywords: Criminology, Juveline Murdered, Family.

Abstract

Employee performance is a key determinant of organizational success in achieving its strategic goals. This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership, organizational commitment, work motivation, and organizational culture on employee performance in private companies in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, this study involved 320 employees from 18 private companies in Medan City, North Sumatra, selected through a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results showed that transformational leadership had a positive and significant effect on employee performance (β = 0.312; p < 0.001), organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect (β = 0.274; p < 0.001), work motivation had a positive and significant effect (β = 0.198; p < 0.01), and organizational culture had a positive and significant effect (β = 0.167; p < 0.05) on employee performance. Simultaneously, the four independent variables explained 68.4% of the variance in employee performance (R² = 0.684). Transformational leadership proved to be the strongest predictor of employee performance. The findings of this study provide important implications for human resource management practices in Indonesian private companies, particularly in developing transformative leaders, strengthening employee commitment and motivation, and building an adaptive and high-achieving organizational culture.

Abstract

Termination of prosecution based on Restorative Justice is carried out by taking into account the interests of victims and other protected legal interests, avoidance of negative stigma, avoidance of retaliation, response and harmony of society, propriety, morality, and public order. There are indications of problems, namely, first, how is the authority of the Republic of Indonesia Prosecutor's Office in terminating prosecution based on restorative justice and second, how is the application of termination of prosecution based on restorative justice to criminal acts of receiving goods carried out jointly at the Cilegon District Prosecutor's Office. This research is a normative juridical research, so the approach used is a case study research approach. The data obtained are analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study indicate that the Prosecutor's Authority in terminating prosecution of criminal cases based on restorative justice is a form of attribution authority, namely authority derived from statutory regulations in this case the Prosecutor's Law and the Termination of Prosecution Regulation because the Public Prosecutor as the case master (dominus litis) has broad authority in resolving criminal cases. The presence of Attorney General Regulation Number 15 of 2020 concerning the termination of prosecution based on Restorative Justice expands the Authority of the Prosecutor in Terminating Cases in the Criminal Procedure Code and expands the Interpretation of the Explanation of Public Interest or in the Interest of Law, of course through a Restorative Justice approach that prioritizes Peace Efforts to compensate for the rights of victims rather than retaliation and the Application of termination of prosecution based on restorative justice for criminal acts of receiving bribes carried out jointly at the Cilegon District Attorney's Office, especially in the case of Hermansyah Maja, et al., who were suspected of violating Article 480 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) Ke-1 of the Criminal Code, prosecution should be able to be terminated based on restorative justice because it has fulfilled the requirements as stipulated in Attorney General Regulation Number 15 of 2020 concerning termination of prosecution based on Restorative Justice and there has been peace between the victims and the suspects so that it is in accordance with the purpose of restorative justice, namely to restore the original situation. In addition, the Cilegon District Attorney's Office during the period 2023 to 2025 has terminated prosecution based on restorative justice in 9 (nine) cases so that the authority of the Republic of Indonesia Attorney General's Office in terminating prosecution based on restorative justice is still considered effective and efficient in resolving conflicts in society by involving all related parties (perpetrators, victims, families, and the community) as a real form of humanistic and modern law enforcement, which focuses on restoring the original state, not merely revenge (retributive).

Abstract

A strategic factor to improve the performance of public sector organizations is the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). The purpose of this study was to look at how transparency (X1), accountability (X2), responsibility (X3), and independence (X4) affect organizational performance (Y). This study was conducted with a quantitative approach, with a sample of 133 respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed the regression equation as follows: Y = 2.135 + 0.312X1 + 0.284X2 + 0.256X3 + 0.298X4. According to the t-test, transparency (t = 3.842; p = 0.000), accountability (t = 3.517; p = 0.001), responsibility (t = 3.24; p = 0.002), and independence had a positive and partially significant impact on organizational performance. The value of Fcal = 45.673 with p = 0.000 (<0.05) indicates that all independent variables affect the company's performance simultaneously. A determination coefficient (R2) of 0.588 indicates that GCG variables may be responsible for 58.8% of organizational performance variations, while 41.2% are due to other factors outside the model. The result is that the correct implementation of GCG can result in continuous improvement in organizational performance.

Abstract

This study investigates the transmission mechanism linking transformational leadership to employee performance through two parallel mediation pathways: work motivation and organizational commitment. Unlike prior studies that examine mediators in isolation, this research explicitly compares the relative strength of both pathways to identify the dominant psychological mechanism within the context of Indonesian banking organizations — a setting that has been consistently underrepresented in the international leadership literature. Using a cross-sectional survey design and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-AMOS) with 385 commercial bank employees selected through stratified random sampling across five Indonesian regions, this study finds: (1) transformational leadership exerts a significant direct effect on employee performance (β = 0.421; p < 0.001); (2) work motivation mediates the relationship with an indirect effect of 0.168 (95% BCa-CI: 0.091–0.263); (3) organizational commitment mediates with an indirect effect of 0.142 (95% BCa-CI: 0.073–0.231); and (4) the pathway through work motivation is statistically stronger than the commitment pathway (contrast = 0.026; p < 0.05). The model explains R² = 0.684 of the variance in employee performance. These findings carry direct implications for the design of leadership training programs and performance management systems in banking institutions

Abstract

The postpartum period is the beginning of a new family for young families, so it is necessary to adapt to their new roles, because family responsibilities increase with the birth of their baby. A holistic approach involving education, psychological support, and monitoring of maternal mental health during the postpartum period is needed to reduce the risk of psychological disorders and ensure the well-being of both mother and baby. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy and thought stopping therapy as an effort to reduce anxiety in primiparous postpartum mothers. This type of research is a Pre-Experimental Design using One Group Pre-test and Post-Test Design. In this study, there were 2 samples where 1 sample used lavender aromatherapy intervention and 1 sample thought stopping therapy intervention. The study was conducted at PKM Tarogong and was conducted in August 2025. The study used univariate analysis to describe midwifery care and to determine the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy with thought stopping therapy on reducing anxiety levels of primiparous postpartum mothers at PKM Tarogong in 2025. The results showed that both interventions were equally effective in reducing anxiety levels of primiparous postpartum mothers. Thought-stopping therapy reduced anxiety scores by 13 points within 3 days, while lavender aromatherapy reduced anxiety scores by 12 points within 7 days. Thus, thought-stopping therapy was deemed quantitatively more effective and faster in reducing anxiety, while lavender aromatherapy remains relevant as a safe and easy-to-implement complementary therapy. Suggestions for primiparous postpartum mothers are expected to increase their knowledge about non-pharmacological anxiety reduction methods such as lavender aromatherapy and thought-stopping therapy

Abstract

The issue of political party governance is intriguing to study in depth and holistically, especially from an academic perspective, specifically examining the governance of the Golkar party in North Sumatra when led by Musa Rajekshah, which is aligned with the transformation of the new Golkar paradigm, positioning Golkar as a modern political party that is program-oriented and problem-solving oriented. This study aims to analyse the institutionalization of the Party in North Sumatra for the period 2020-2024. This research employs a descriptive qualitative research design using a case study method. Understanding the chronological sequence of events, the data obtained were analysed based on the Political Party Institutionalization theory of Vicky Randall and Lars Svasand, as well as neo-institutional theory. Based on the findings and analysis, it shows that the Party for the period 2020-2024 has a well-described level of institutionalization, referring to the process by which a political party becomes stable, independent, and has strong roots both internally and externally in society, making it an institution that operates based on clear rules and ideology. Thus, the writer concludes that the victory of Golkar Party in North Sumatra during the 2024 Legislative Election was due to the implementation of good party institutionalization, strengthened by
