Abstract

This study examines the influence of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) on organizational environmental performance in Starbucks coffee shops in Bandung City, Indonesia. The coffee shop industry has a high impact on the environment due to its use of plastic packaging. Starbucks, being one of the most popular coffee brands in Indonesia, has taken steps to implement "go green" and reduce plastic waste. The study explores the effect of four factors - Internal Green Supply Chain Management, Environmental Monitoring of Suppliers, Environmental Collaboration with Customers, and Environmental Performance - on the perspective of Starbucks employees. The results show that all four variables are categorized as very good or strongly agreed, with an overall score of 87-88%. The study's findings provide insights into the benefits of GSCM, such as reducing waste and cost, improving environmental performance, and enhancing a company's image and marketing exposure. This research is useful for writers and entrepreneurs in the coffee shop industry, though it is limited to Starbucks outlets in Bandung City.

Abstract

The Kampung Naga indigenous community in West Java exemplifies a conservation model based on local wisdom. For centuries, they have protected a 50-hectare Forbidden Forest. This study aims to examine the Kampung Naga Forbidden Forest as a socio-ecological adaptation system in response to global disruption. Through a qualitative literature review, the study found that this forest, protected by customary laws such as logging prohibitions and the leuit (communal rice barn) system, plays a crucial role in conserving biodiversity, water management, and food security. The study found that this forest conserves 85% of endemic plant species and absorbs millions of liters of rainwater annually. However, increasing external pressures, such as infrastructure development, mass tourism, and the decline of traditional ecological knowledge over generations, have begun to erode its sacred value and sustainability. Traditional rituals such as Sedekah Bumi (Earth Almsgiving) have been commercialized into paid festivals, while youth engagement in ecological customs such as ngaruat (alms-giving rituals) has declined drastically. Using Cultural Ecology and the Social Construction of Reality as theoretical frameworks, this study argues that Kampung Naga's resilience stems from its ability to integrate ancestral beliefs with modern legal instruments and frameworks. The study concludes that the Forbidden Forest is not only a conservation area, but also a cultural and spiritual landscape shaped by the practices of indigenous communities over generations. The novelty of this research, its sustainability, offers valuable insights into community-based ecological strategies in an era of global disruption

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Dynamics of Local Politics and Prabowo-Gibran Campaign Strategy in the 2024 Presidential Election in Surabaya City. Analysis of Discourse Contestation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-critical type of research, aiming to describe how the Prabowo-Gibran campaign strategy is articulated as a hegemonic practice in the public space of Surabaya city, as well as how dominant discourses are produced, circulated, and accepted by the public. The data collection technique in this study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory strategy. This study shows that the campaign of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair in the 2024 Presidential Election can not only be understood as a conventional electoral process, but as a hegemonic articulation project that successfully unites various discursive elements—including symbols, programs, figures, and political networks—in one dominant political representation block. This campaign strategy successfully constructs a chain of equivalences between demands for the welfare of the common people, youth aspirations, loyalty to Jokowi, and the logic of national development in one coherent populist and affective narrative. The main thesis of this research can be formulated that the Prabowo-Gibran campaign in the 2024 Presidential Election is a form of hegemonic articulation structured through affective, visual, and symbolic strategies, which combine Jokowi's legitimacy, digital populism symbols, and formal and informal electoral networks, in order to form a new political formation compatible with the post-Jokowi order.

Abstract

This paper proves that spiritual capital is the driving force of entrepreneurial spirit. Spirituality comes from religious values, traditions, and the environment. It can be seen in the community of Tetep, Dukuh Gambirsari Kelurahan Randuacir, Salatiga, Central Java. The entrepreneurial spirit in this community develops due to the impacts of spirituality that manifest in daily practice. The approach of this paper is autoethnography, which is a narrative study based on the experiences of individuals and communities in society. The research utilizes the theories of capital developed by Karl Marx, Weber, and Pierre Bourdieu. Marx emphasized that humans are beings who work, and material possessions serve as the driving force behind work. Weber argues that economic development is closely intertwined with non-economic factors. Bourdieu conceptualizes capital across various dimensions-economic, cultural, social, and symbolic – which are interconnected with habitus and field. The spiritual capital that grows through the practice of life shows that people have the ability to manifest the appreciation of spirituality into the power to survive and thrive amid changing times. In its development, it was also found that some members of the community did not view their businesses solely as a means of survival, but rather as a source of livelihood that created jobs for many people. This spiritual capital is developed in concrete actions through the creations of self-employment in the form of trade and service business. The development of an entrepreneurial society with all its implementations can be used in this approach. Spiritual capital gives rise to fortitude, perseverance, courage to take risks, learners, gratitude, fruitfulness, and honesty. This spirit became the driving force of capitalism for marginalized communities, known as marginal capitalism or village capitalism. They proved the values, culture, and norms of society.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a crucial issue in regional development, focusing not only on economic growth but also on environmental sustainability and strengthening local cultural identity. Pengubaian Beach in Kaur Regency, Bengkulu, is a tourist destination with significant potential but faces several challenges in its management. This study aims to identify the driving factors and challenges in developing sustainable tourism at Pengubaian Beach. The method used was a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. Research informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique involving local business actors, tourists, and community leaders. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which encompasses data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results indicate that natural beauty, community participation, and village government support are the main driving factors. However, various challenges remain, such as limited infrastructure, minimal supporting facilities, dependence on weather conditions, land ownership issues, and the absence of formal institutions such as the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). The study's conclusions confirm that Pengubaian Beach has the potential to become a sustainable tourism destination, provided there is institutional strengthening, infrastructure improvement, and more intensive collaboration between the government, community, and the private sector

Abstract

This Phenomenon provides opportunities to utilize the internet and social media in various business sectors, including marketing activities that are usually carried out in the tourism industry. This study was conducted to formulate a digital media management strategy in tourism marketing by local governments. This study was conducted in the city of Medan, where local officials have attempted to utilize various digital media platforms in tourism marketing. Unfortunately, tourists are less enthusiastic about visiting events and tourist attractions in this city. Therefore, it is necessary to reanalyze the existing conditions by formulating new strategies for digital tourism marketing by the Medan City Tourism Office. This study was conducted using PEST analysis, Porter’s Diamond Model, Value Chain Analysis, SWOT Analysis, and Balanced Scorecard. The results identified 8, 16, 13, and 4 categories of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The SWOT analysis results place digital media tourism marketing in quadrant III. The conclusion from the results and discussion is that strategy mapping and measurement using the Balanced Scorecard categorizes 13 alternative strategies into 4 perspectives, namely financial, customer, business process, and growth and learning. The novelty of this research is that the growth and learning perspective produces two alternative strategies, namely conducting market analysis and designing target profiles for each platform

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the role and repositioning of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in North Sumatra in the post-New Order era. Specifically, this study aims to uncover how NGOs reposition themselves towards the state/government, the market, and civil society—three major entities widely recognized in Public Administration studies. This is crucial considering that NGOs—as one of the important democratic actors in community empowerment and democratization in Indonesia—are situated within a constantly changing national socio-political landscape, as well as a global context that increasingly emphasizes the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration. This study—taking into account the issues and areas discussed—focuses on three institutions: KSPPM, BITRA Indonesia, and PESADA. Using a qualitative-descriptive method, this study concludes several things: first, during the Reformation era, NGOs have repositioned themselves, no longer as opposition to the government, but as "critical partners"; second, despite the increasingly open political system, NGOs have not succeeded in building effective political relationships; third, along with the collapse of the New Order as their "common enemy," NGOs tend to experience fragmentation and sectarianism in the Reformation era; Fourth, in the Reformation era, NGOs in North Sumatra began to open up spaces for dialogue, negotiation, and technology, and actively encouraged the communities they supported to enter public spaces and positions; Fifth, NGOs in North Sumatra did not abandon "traditional" issues, but now tended to expand their issues and areas of concern; Sixth, the three institutions (KSPPM, BITRA, and PESADA) demonstrated greater program and financial capacity, although they still depended on funding institutions; Seventh, NGOs in North Sumatra tended to remain skeptical, even closed, in collaborating with private companies; Eighth, in the Reformation era, NGOs in North Sumatra increasingly took a side on gender issues, although in this regard there was—and were influenced by—active encouragement from their donors; which is no less important. The novelty of this research found a number of achievements that have been made by the three institutions, which make them worthy of public appreciation and trust to date.

Abstract

Indonesia's foreign policy has always been based on the principle of "freedom and activity," a normative position that emphasizes non-alignment and participation in building a just and peaceful world order. However, in practice, this principle faces dynamic challenges posed by the complexities of global geopolitics, such as great power rivalry, changes in the international economic order, and multidimensional crises like the pandemic and climate change. This article aims to examine how Indonesia formulates and implements its foreign policy to safeguard national interests, from economic, political, and security perspectives, amidst rapid and uncertain geopolitical change. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and foreign policy analysis, this article finds that Indonesia tends to implement an adaptive-pragmatic strategy that remains grounded in the constitution but is also flexible in responding to global conditions. The principle of "freedom and activity" is not stagnant, but rather undergoes strategic interpretation according to the context of the times and the desired national interests. This study confirms that the success of Indonesian foreign policy depends heavily on its diplomatic ability to maintain a balance between policy autonomy and international engagement
