Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the Triglyceride (TG) levels in obese patients. The research is conducted in a descriptive quantitative approach. Primary data in the form of research findings on TG levels in obese patients and secondary data in the form of data from the literature, books, questionnaires, books, and medical records were used. Purposive sampling was used with a sample size of 30 participants. The results showed that of 30 obese patients, 27 (90%) had abnormal TG levels. While 3 persons (10%), had normal TG levels. The factors that had the greatest influence on the level of TG in obese patients were their physical features (body mass index/BMI) and dietary habits (number of calories). The study concluded that 90% of obese patients had normal triglyceride levels, while 10% had abnormal levels. Suggestions for obese people to manage and control their triglyceride levels on a regular basis, as well as engage in other activities that can help prevent obesity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of urine nitrite examination in patients with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) as well as to determine the factors that influence it. The method in this study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The type of data used is primary data in the form of research results and secondary data in the form of data from literature, books and documents. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique, with a sample of 30 people. The results showed that of the 30 patients diagnosed with UTI, 19 people or 63.3% had positive urine nitrite, while 11 people had negative urine nitrite or 36.7%. Factors that affect urine nitrite levels in patients with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) are individual hygiene, use of catheters, and gender. UTI sufferers are more common in women than men.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of giving Fe tablets to hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls. The research method uses a quantitative analytic approach. The type of data used is primary data, namely the results of giving Fe tablets to hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls and secondary data obtained from data from the Kabila Health Center and the Gorontalo Provincial Health Office. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 26 people. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between Fe tablets and Hemoglobin levels, namely 0.04 more <0.05. The average hemoglobin level of adolescent girls aged 15-17 years was obtained at the Kabila District Health Center. Bone Bolango is 12.4 g/dL. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between Fe tablets and hemoglobin levels, which is 0.04 more than 0.05. suggestions for further researchers, it is better for further researchers to conduct further research on other factors that affect hemoglobin levels.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the results of the analysis of Coliform bacterial contamination in tomato sauce snacks on Jalan Toto Tengah, Gorontalo City. This research method is descriptive observational with a qualitative approach. The method in this study uses the MPN method which consists of the estimator test, reinforcement test and Gram staining and uses the MPN 333 table according to Thomas's formula. The results showed that all samples of tomato sauce tested positive for Coliform bacteria and did not meet the standards based on BPOM Standard number HK.00.06.1.52.4011 in 2009 concerning the maximum limit of microbial and chemical contamination in food with a maximum APM Coliform of 100 APM/g. estimator test all samples change color to yellow. Meanwhile, in the reinforcement test results, 1 sample had metallic green bacterial colonies and 5 other samples had pink colonies and for Gram staining, rod-shaped Gram negative bacteria were obtained.

Abstract

Dug wells are a source of clean water that is needed by the community in general, so they must meet the physical, chemical and bacteriological requirements. The people in Hunggaluwa Village use dug wells to meet their needs for clean water for various purposes, be it washing, cooking, and others. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of dug wells based on physical and bacteriological parameters. The results of the study showed that there were 22 dug wells made of strong, watertight materials and > 80 cm high (100%). For plastered wells, a minimum length of 1 m and a slope of 100 is 22 units (100%). For the distance between the well and the latrine, it was found that there were 17 wells <11 meters and 5 of them > 11 meters. Based on the content of Escherichia Coli (E.Coli) bacteria, there were 2 wells that met the requirements, and 20 wells that did not meet the requirements. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that: Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) Bacterial Content in Dug Well Clean Water Facilities (SGL) in Hunggaluwa Village,. It was concluded that the dug well (SGL) clean, 91% did not meet the requirements and 9% met the requirements.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the presence of dangerous chemical compounds, namely mercury and hydroquinone in hand body preparations circulating in Gorontalo City. The method used in this study uses descriptive research with an observational approach and qualitative laboratory tests. From the research results, 12 samples were tested for mercury (using NaOH and KI), 4 positive samples contained mercury and 8 negative samples contained mercury. 4 samples were marked by a yellow color change in the NaOH solution and a red color in KI solution and the 8 negative samples did not change color so that these samples did not contain harmful chemicals in the handbody. From the results of the 12 samples that were subjected to the hydroquinone test (using FeCl3) the results obtained were 2 positive samples containing hydroquinone and 10 samples not containing hydroquinone. The 2 positive samples were marked by a change in green color and had precipitate in the sample, whereas in the 10 samples the results obtained had no color change and had no precipitate in the sample tested.

Abstract

Formalin is a chemical whose use is prohibited for food products.Formalin with its trade name is formaldehyde in water with a content of 30-40%. Formaldehyde contamination in foodstuffs is very harmful to the body. Formaldehyde can cause cancer of the respiratory tract and increase the risk of leukemiaThis study aims to determine the presence or absence of formalin content in tofu using purple sweet potato extract which was carried out using the maceration extraction method.Natural ingredients containing anthocyanins can be used as an alternative to formalin testing. This study used a qualitative research method using purple sweet potato extract as an inspection indicator because it contains anthocyanin which is capable of detecting the presence of formaldehyde in tofu by means of a color change reaction.anthocyanin which is amphoteric in nature which has the ability to react well with acidic and basic pH, if in an acidic medium the anthocyanin will turn red. Formalin is acidic, so when anthocyanin meets formalin it will produce a red color that is increasingly concentrated. Meanwhile, if the anthocyanin pigment does not change color to red or remains in its original color, then it does not contain formalin. Anthocyanins will change color as the pH value changes The results showed that the 19 tofu samples tested were declared negative as indicated by the absence of a reddish-blue discoloration reaction.
