The method in this study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The type of data used is primary data in the form of obtained by conducting initial observations and interviews , laboratory tests accompanied by documentation, as well as secondary data in the form of literature data and government policies regarding food additives. The number of samples is 10 samples, taken from 10 Meatball seller in Gorontalo City . The results of the study were that eight samples of meatballs were negative or did not contain borax and there were two samples of meatballs that were positive or contained borax. This was indicated by the color change on the curcumin paper turning brown if the result was positive and if the result was negative, the curcumin paper did not change color .

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the Triglyceride (TG) levels in obese patients. The research is conducted in a descriptive quantitative approach. Primary data in the form of research findings on TG levels in obese patients and secondary data in the form of data from the literature, books, questionnaires, books, and medical records were used. Purposive sampling was used with a sample size of 30 participants. The results showed that of 30 obese patients, 27 (90%) had abnormal TG levels. While 3 persons (10%), had normal TG levels. The factors that had the greatest influence on the level of TG in obese patients were their physical features (body mass index/BMI) and dietary habits (number of calories). The study concluded that 90% of obese patients had normal triglyceride levels, while 10% had abnormal levels. Suggestions for obese people to manage and control their triglyceride levels on a regular basis, as well as engage in other activities that can help prevent obesity.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of basil leaf extract and fraction in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria and to determine the best concentration in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. The methodin this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and five repetitions based on each extract and fraction treatment group, namely: 25% concentration, 50% concentration and 75% concentration. The result shows that from each concentration used from the extract and fraction group, it was found that the largest concentration in inhibiting Eschericia coli bacteria was at a concentration of 75% in the extract group. Statistical analysis of data using Univariate showed no significant difference in values between Fcount and Ftable, therefore it was continued by using the BNT test. Abstract

Abstract

Potassium is a major intracellular cation that plays an important role in cellular metabolism. This study aims to describe the results of examination of blood potassium levels in the elderly in the work area of the Kabila Health Center. This research method uses a quantitative research approach with the type of research used in this study is a descriptive type of research. The results of this study indicate that the results of examination of blood potassium levels in the elderly from 26 respondents obtained normal results as many as 5 samples 919.23%, high as many as 5 samples 19.23%, and low as many as 16 samples 61.54%. The amount of low blood potassium is more because respondents have low potassium intake. Conclusion Based on the risk factors that most influence the results of examination of blood potassium levels in the elderly, namely the lack of consuming foods containing potassium and not consuming very high amounts of potassium.

Abstract

Gout arthritis is a progressive disease due to the deposition of monosodium urate (MSU) crystals in joints, kidneys, and other connective tissues as a result of chronic hyperuricemia. The purpose of this study was to compare uric acid levels in men and women aged 45-60 years. The type of research used in this research is observational analytic with a quantitative approach and the method used in this research is Enzymatic Colorimetric (Uricase). This method uses the aid of a spectrophotometer to measure uric acid levels. The spectrophotometer used in this research is Pentra C200.The results of the research conducted at the UPTD Balai LABKESDA Gorontalo Province showed that abnormal uric acid levels were more in men than uric acid levels in women where the abnormal number in men was 7 respondents and in women only 4 respondents. This is because men have a higher risk of developing gout compared to women whose risk will be the same as men when entering the age or period of menopause.
