Abstract

This study aims to identify leading and non-leading economic sectors, analyze shifts in economic sectors, classify the position of Grobogan Regency within regional development typology, and measure the influence of basic sectors on regional economic growth. The methods used in this research include Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Shift Share, Klassen Typology, and simple linear regression. This is a quantitative study employing statistical data analysis to describe the regional economic conditions and dynamics. The data used are secondary data in the form of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Grobogan Regency and Central Java Province for the period 2019–2023, obtained from the publications of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analysis results indicate that several basic sectors consistently contribute to economic growth, while some sectors have experienced a shift in their roles. Based on the Klassen Typology, Grobogan Regency is mostly classified within the quadrants of rapidly developing and underdeveloped regions. Furthermore, regression results show that basic sectors have a significant influence on regional economic growth. These findings can serve as a reference for more targeted and sector-based regional development planning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) mechanisms on earnings quality in transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2018–2022 period, with firm size as a moderating variable. GCG is measured using three key indicators: institutional ownership, the proportion of independent commissioners, and the existence of an audit committee. A quantitative approach was employed using secondary data sourced from annual financial reports. Panel data regression analysis was applied, along with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test the moderating effect. The findings reveal that institutional ownership and audit committees have a significant positive effect on earnings quality, while independent commissioners do not show a significant impact. Moreover, firm size strengthens the relationship between institutional ownership and audit committees with earnings quality but does not moderate the relationship between independent commissioners and earnings quality. These results highlight the importance of effective corporate governance practices and the significant role of firm size in ensuring the credibility of financial reporting.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven a major transformation in the banking sector, enabling various services to be provided online through digital banking platforms. Students, as the digital native generation, are an important segment in the adoption of these services. Although various conveniences and benefits have been offered, the level of digital banking adoption among students remains uneven. This study aims to examine the interest of students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) in using digital banking and to explore the factors influencing their preferences. This research employs a quantitative approach using logistic regression analysis. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to active FISIP students at Diponegoro University. Independent variables include age, GPA, semester, region of origin, entrepreneurial status, monthly allowance, and ICT literacy, with digital banking adoption as the dependent variable. The results indicate that the logistic regression model has a satisfactory goodness-of-fit, with a -2 Log Likelihood value of 99.003 and a Nagelkerke R² of 0.154. Hypothesis testing revealed that only age and semester significantly influence digital banking adoption. Age has a positive effect (p = 0.003), while semester has a negative effect (p = 0.005). Other variables—GPA, region of origin, side business, monthly allowance, and ICT literacy—show no significant effect. This study contributes conceptually to understanding technology adoption behavior and offers practical implications for financial institutions and educational bodies to enhance financial literacy and digital inclusion among students.

Abstract

In the midst of the rapidly growing make-up service industry, customer satisfaction has become a crucial factor in business success. Customer perception of constantly changing make-up trends and the quality of services provided are key aspects in maintaining customer loyalty. This study aims to examine the influence of make-up trend perception and service quality on customer satisfaction at Mea Dacosta Tulungagung. This research employed a quantitative approach using survey methods by distributing questionnaires to 120 customers as respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression assisted by SPSS version 26. The results showed that both partially and simultaneously, make-up trend perception (X1) and service quality (X2) have a significant influence on customer satisfaction (Y), with significance values less than 0.05. Simultaneously, the two independent variables also have a significant effect on customer satisfaction with a significance value of 0.000. The regression equation obtained is Y = 3.123 + 0.765X1 + 0.184X2. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.930 indicates that 93.0% of customer satisfaction variation can be explained by make-up trend perception and service quality variables, while the remaining 7.0% is influenced by other variables outside this study.

Abstract

Budo Village, as one of the coastal areas, possesses considerable economic potential, particularly through the activities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) managed by the local community. Various types of businesses have developed in this village, ranging from fisheries and marine product processing to service and trade sectors. The growth of SMEs in Budo Village is influenced by both internal and external environmental factors, which help shape the direction and quality of local economic development. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal and external environmental factors on competitive advantage and business performance within the community. The research employs a quantitative approach with data collection techniques using questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents who are SME actors. Data analysis was conducted using validity tests, reliability tests, t-tests, and F-tests. The results show that all variables studied internal environmental factors, external environmental factors, and competitive advantage are proven to be both valid and reliable. Furthermore, these three variables have a positive and significant influence on improving business performance. These findings indicate that strengthening both internal and external supporting factors is crucial to enhancing competitiveness and fostering the growth of SMEs in coastal regions such as Budo Village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of minimum wage, open unemployment rate, and the number of poor people on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Probolinggo Regency during the period 2013–2023. A quantitative approach was employed, using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 27 software. The partial test results show that the minimum wage variable has a positive and significant effect on HDI, indicating that an increase in the minimum wage contributes to improving the quality of life. Meanwhile, the open unemployment rate has a negative but insignificant effect on HDI, suggesting that a lower unemployment rate does not necessarily reflect improved societal welfare. On the other hand, the number of poor people has a negative and significant effect on HDI, meaning that higher poverty levels are associated with lower human development quality. The regression model used in this study has an adjusted R² value of 97.3%, indicating that the three independent variables collectively explain 97.3% of the variation in HDI in Probolinggo Regency. These findings highlight that increasing the minimum wage and reducing poverty are key strategies in enhancing human development. Therefore, local government policies should focus on improving household income, eradicating poverty, and enhancing access to and quality of education and healthcare services.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Tari Baluse as a cultural heritage in empowering the local economy through the development of tourism based on local wisdom in Hilimondregeraya Tourism Village, South Nias. Tari Baluse is a traditional war dance rich in historical value, symbolizing courage and the cultural identity of the Nias people. In the context of tourism, performances of Tari Baluse serve as a major attraction for both domestic and international tourists. This research employs a qualitative and quantitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and surveys with artists, local residents, and small business actors. The findings indicate that Tari Baluse significantly contributes to increasing community income, particularly through the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) such as handicrafts, local culinary businesses, and tour guide services. The active participation of the community—especially women and youth—in culture-based creative economic activities also demonstrates a positive social impact. However, challenges remain, particularly in terms of limited infrastructure and promotional efforts. The study recommends strengthening local tourism governance, enhancing community capacity through training, and optimizing digital promotion as strategic steps toward sustainable economic development and cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the number of tourist visits in the Pesisir Regency of East Java in 2014-2023. The Pesisir Regency of East Java is a regency with a long coastline bordering the Indian Ocean so it has stunning coastal tourism, and this results in differences in the number of tourist visits in each region according to the views presented in each region. The independent variables are the Number of Hotels, Number of Tourist Attractions, Labor, Minimum Wages, Cultural Attractions, and Relaxation Places and the number of tourist visits as the dependent variable. The research data uses a quantitative approach with panel data regression of 7 Coastal Regencies of East Java with sources from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Tourism Office, using the Fixed Effect Model. The results show that not all variables have a significant effect on the number of tourist visits, the variables of labor, minimum wages, cultural attractions, and relaxation places have a significant effect on the number of tourist visits while the number of hotels and tourist attractions has no significant effect on the number of tourist visits. This explains that the importance of cultural and relaxation aspects supports the sustainability of the tourism sector in the coastal areas of East Java.
