Jurnal Counseling Care (2597-6923) (2581-0650) is the official, peer-reviewed, open-access, electronic journal of the Study Program of Guidance and Counselling, Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat,is published biannual (April and October) dedicated to research and commentary on empirical, theoretical and innovative topics in the profession of school counseling and related areas. The goal in establishing Jurnal Counseling Care was to create an exciting new resource for the school counseling profession and related area with relevant and up-to-date material. Jurnal Counseling Care, publishes articles on practice, theory, and research in all areas of Guidance and Counseling also education related to Guidance and Counseling. Every submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two peer-reviewers using double blind review method. This journal registered in the Crossref system with Digital Object Identifier (DOI) prefix 10.22202.

Abstract

Adolescence is a time of self-discovery, one of the efforts made to achieve the identity of teenagers can be pursued with the achievement of a mature relationship with peers. Teenagers spend more time with their peers. Peer execution is very urgent in determining attitudes and behavior, as teenagers strive to be free from family and not dependent on their parents, so that any problems they face will be more likely to share the problem with their peers. Peer counseling is an activity of mutual care and interpersonal mutual assistance among fellow students that take place in everyday life, using active listening skills and problem-solving skills in equal position among peers. In SMA 1 Sungayang some students have attended peer counseling, one time, twice or even four times in peer counseling. This study aims to reveal the level of student motivation in following peer counseling. This research uses quantitative descriptive method, with 76 research sample (SeventySix) students. Data obtained through questionnaire, then continued with interpretation of data or process of interpreting data. The results of this study revealed that the motivation of students to follow peer counseling activities belong to the high category

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the existence of single parents (single mother and single father) who have down syndrome children in nurturing, guiding, and caring for children without being accompanied by a partner. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of single parents on the development of children with down syndrome seen from 1) decision-makers, 2) responsibilities as parents, 3) responsibilities as teachers, and 4) advisors. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. The key informants in this study consisted of two people, one single mother and one single father who had a child with Down syndrome. While the additional informants are three people each from a single parent. The instruments used are interviews and observations. As for the data analysis technique using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that 1) Single parents as decision-makers were seen from single mothers who decided to take care of their children by themselves by providing physical therapy and speech therapy according to the doctor's advice, while single fathers also consulted with doctors to monitor their child's development and asked for help from the eldest child to take care of his sister. 2) The responsibility as a parent of a single mother is shown by sending their children to school to be independent and practicing communication with others as well as actively sharing information with other parents who also have Down syndrome children, while single fathers feel responsible for helping their children adjust by not feeling bad. ashamed to have a child with down syndrome. 3) The responsibility as a teacher of a single mother is shown by assisting children in doing assignments and directing them to be independent in carrying out daily activities, while single fathers do not have much time to accompany children's activities at home because of busywork. 4) The single parent as an advisor is seen from the single mother, namely giving directions slowly to the child in daily activities, while the single father understands the limitations of the child by being patient and accepting the mistakes made by the child. Keyword:Role, Single Mather, Single Father, Down Syndrome  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya orangtua tunggal (single mother dan single father) yang memiliki anak down sndrome dalam mengasuh, membimbing dan merawat anak tanpa didampingi pasangan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan peran orang tua tunggal terhadap perkembangan anak down syndrome dilihat dari: 1) Pengambil keputusan, 2) Tanggung jawab sebagai orang tua, 3) Tanggung jawab sebagai guru, dan 4) Penasehat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Informan kunci dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua orang yaitu satu single mother dan satu single father yang memiliki anak down syndrome. Sedangkan informan tambahan masing-masing tiga orang dari single parent.Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan observasi.Sedangkan untuk teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Orangtua tunggal sebagai pengambil keputusan dilihat dari single mother yaitu memutuskan untuk merawat sendiri anaknya dengan memberikan terapi fisik serta terapi berbicara sesuai saran dokter, sedangkan single father juga berkonsultasi dengan dokter untuk memantau perkembangan anaknya dan meminta bantuan dari anak tertua untuk merawat adiknya.2) Tanggung jawab sebagai orangtua dari single mother ditunjukkan dengan menyekolahkan anak untuk bisa mandiri serta melatih komunikasi dengan orang lain disamping juga aktif berbagi informasi dengan orangtua lain yang juga memiliki anak down syndrome sedangkan single father merasa bertanggung jawab dalam membantu anak menyesuaikan diri dengan tidak merasa malu memiliki anak down syndrome. 3) Tanggung jawab sebagai guru dari single mother ditunjukkan dengan mendampingi anak mengerjakan tugas serta mengarahkan untuk bisa mandiri dalam melakukan aktifitas sehari-hari sedangkan single father kurang memiliki banyak waktu untuk mendampingi kegiatan anak di rumah karena kesibukan bekerja. 4) Orangtua tunggal sebagai penasehat dilihat dari single mother yaitu memberitahu arahan secara perlahan kepada anak dalam kegiatan sehari-hari, sedangkan single father memahami dengan keterbatasan yang dimiliki anak dengan bersabar dan menerima kesalahan yang dilakukan anak. Kata Kunci: Peran, Single Mother, Single Father, Down Syndrome

Abstract

Adanya peserta didik yang lebih banyak berinterksi sosial melalui jaringan dunia maya. Akibatnya peserta didik banyak sekali mengalami permasalahan kesalah pahaman antar peserta didik, ataupun pesrta didik dengan guru. Salah satu layanan yang terdapat dalam Bimbingan dan Konseling adalah layanan bimbingan kelompok, dimana dapat diberikan oleh guru BK supaya perserta didik bersosialisasi dengan baik, terbuka, berani berbicara di depan orang banyak, berani bertanya, menanggapi pendapat orang lain, dapat mengemukakan ide-ide dengan baik serta tepa selera. Adapun yang dimaksud layanan bimbingan kelompok adalah bantuan yang memukinkan peserta didikmendapat layanan secara langsung tatap muka dalam rangka membahas topik tertentu secara luas dan mendalam yang bermanfaat bagi peserta didik dengan memanfaatkan dinamika kelompok.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the fact that students are less able to come up with their ideas, lack the courage to try new things, are afraid to act, are less responsive in attitude, less flexible, less self-accepting, less independent, lack good social attitudes (lack of sympathy and empathy) and lack of self-disclosure. The general purpose of this research is to describe the self-actualization of students. The specific purpose of this study is to describe the actualization of students seen from: 1) Being spontaneous; 2) be honest; 3) social interest; 4) democratic. This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method. The research population was 246 students, who were selected by proportional random sampling technique with 71 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Meanwhile, for data analysis using descriptive statistics with percentage techniques. Based on the results of research in general about the actualization of students in class XI Vocational High School 1 Gunung Tuleh is in the good category. The results of the research are indicators: 1) Spontaneous behavior is in the fairly good category; 2) being honest is in the good category; 3) social interest is in the good category; 4) democracy is in the good category.Key word: Self-actualization, Students  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya terlihat peserta didik kurang bisa memunculkan ide-ide yang dimilikinya, kurang berani untuk mencoba hal yang baru, takut dalam bertindak, kurang tanggap dalam bersikap, kurang fleksibel, kurang menerima  diri  sendiri, kurang  mandiri,  kurang memiliki sikap sosial yang baik (tidak memiliki simpati dan empati) dan kurang memiliki keterbukaan diri. Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan aktualisasi diri peserta didik. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan aktualisasi peserta didik dilihat dari: 1) Bersikap spontan; 2) bersikap jujur; 3) minat sosial; 4) demokratis. Penelitian   ini   dilakukan   dengan   menggunakan   metode   deskriptif  kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah 246 peserta didik yang dipilih dengan teknik proposional random sampling dengan 71 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket. Sedangkan untuk analisis data menggunakan statistic deskriptif dengan teknik persentase. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian secara umum tentang aktualisasi peserta didik di kelas XI Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 1 Gunung Tuleh berada pada kategori baik. Hasil penelitian secara perindikator: 1) Bersikap spontan berada pada kategori cukup baik; 2) bersikap jujur berada pada kategori baik; 3) minat sosial berada pada kategori baik; 4) demokratis berada pada kategori baik. Kata Kunci: Aktualisasi diri, Peserta Didik

Abstract

This research is motivated by adolescents who are less adaptable in the environment. the purpose of this study was to describe: family environmental factors that affect adolescent adaptation seen from 1) family atmosphere, 2)  family socioeconomic conditions, 3) adolescent position in the family, 4) gender differences. This research is qualitative research. Key informants were teenagers with the initials EG and GP and four additional informants consisting of FS (FG parents), SP (EG's older sister), NV (WOMAN's older sister GP), and MK (GP's younger sister). The research instrument used in this study was an interview. data analysis techniques used through data reduction, data presentation, and data interpretation. The results of the study revealed that family environmental factors that affect adolescent adaptation seen from 1) family atmosphere that is not harmonious with family members causes children to be difficult to adapt; 2) the economic condition of the family starts from the middle to lower so that adolescents are not confident properly; 3) the position of adolescents as the firstborn/only child at home so that adolescents have a sense of responsibility to protect family members; 4) gender differences in men/women, in adapting to different environments men are faster in conducting socialization with the community, whereas women take a little longer to socialize with their environment. based on the results of this study it is recommended for adolescents to be able to adapt to the environment and the environment in which adolescents live.

Abstract

This research is based on the presence of students who are confused about choosing an advanced school to choose, students who do not care about their further education and students who enter secondary school because of trends and requests from parents. The purpose of this study is to describe 1) Career Maturity Descriptions, 2) Advanced Education Aspirations, 3) Relationship between Career Maturity and Further Education Aspirations. This research was conducted using the descriptive correlation method. The study population was 210 students and a sample of 68 students who were selected by simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Meanwhile, for data analysis using percentage and correlation techniques. Based on the results of research on the relationship between career maturity and the level of aspirations for further education of students in class IX of Juniour High Schools 1, Guguak District, Limapuluh Kota, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1) The career maturity of students at SMP Negeri 1 Guguak District is in the fairly good category. 2) The aspirations for further education of students at SMP Negeri 1 Guguak District are in the high enough category. 3) The relationship between career maturity and the level of aspirations for further education of students in class IX of SMP Negeri 1, Guguak District, Limapuluh Kota. Based on this research, it is recommended that guidance and counseling teachers be able to increase information about careers for further education so that they can direct the desire of the conscience of students to choose without being burdened.

Abstract

Students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) of STKIP PGRI West Sumatra as prospective conselor who are required to have independence in the field of employment development to improve accuracy, development, so as not to change the phase and subsequent developments. To welcome this, it is necessary to disclose the victory of student assignments through the Development Task Application (ATP). This research was conducted to reveal and analyze the development of students' assignments as candidates for conselor through the Development Instrument application. The type of research is quantitative descriptive with BK student research in 2016 which was arrested by 63 students. The collected data was developed with the Developmental Task Application. The results of the study, in general, the results of the 2016 BK students' ITP by following the Level of Careful Development were that students acted on internal values, were responsible for the choices taken to be carried out and the choices taken were future-oriented and long-term. Creation with a careful level on aspects, religious foundation, intellectual maturity, responsible awareness, career insight and preparation and self-preparation for family life. To improve the other six aspects, it was designed the action of ITP-based Counseling Service Plan Program

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students who have not been able to understand the ability to manage emotions, are less concerned when the teaching and learning process takes place, are easy to develop emotions with friends, and there is no special service program design for the emotional development of students based on information technology. The purpose of the study was to reveal the ability of students to manage emotions and to design Guidance and Counseling service programs based on Information Technology according to the problems of students at the State Vocational High School 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang related to the ability to manage emotions. This type of research used quantitative descriptive method. The population of this study was students in class XI TBSMi State Vocational High School 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang. Sampling in this study used a total sampling technique, where researchers took the entire population of 64 respondents. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire. To analyze the data, the percentage and mean formulas were used. The application that the researcher designed has been validated by 3 theoretical experts, 1 practitioner expert and 1 media expert, namely by obtaining a total expert score of 3.36 with the "very acceptable" category. The results obtained from the description of the ability of students in managing their emotions were obtained scores with a moderate category. Furthermore, with the results of the acquisition of these score categories, a development program design in managing the emotions of students in class XI TBSM at the State Vocational High School 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang can be made. Keywords: Program design, self regulation, Guidance and Counseling. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya fenomena peserta didik yang belum mampu memahami kemampuan mengelola emosi, kurang peduli saat proses belajar mengajar berlangsung, mudah mengeluarkan amarah kepada temannya, saling mengejek dalam lingkup pertemanan, dan belum adanya rancangan program layanan khusus untuk pengembangan mengelola emosi peserta didik berbasis teknologi informasi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengungkap kemampuan peserta didik dalam mengelola emosi dan merancang program layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling  berbasis Teknologi Informasi  sesuai permasalahan peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang yang berhubungan dengan kemampuan mengelola emosi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini peserta didik di kelas XI TBSMi Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik total sampling, dimana peneliti mengambil keseluruhan populasi yaitu sebanyak 64 orang responden. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket. Untuk menganalisis data digunakan rumus presentase dan mean. Aplikasi yang peneliti rancang telah di validasi oleh 3 orang pakar teoritis, 1 orang pakar praktisi dan 1 orang pakar media yaitu dengan perolehan skor keseluruhan pakar yaitu 3, 36 dengan kategori “sangat diterima”. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dari gambaran kamampuan peserta didik dalam mengelola emosinya yaitu diperoleh skor dengan kategori sedang. Selanjutnya dengan hasil perolehan kategori skor tersebut dapat dibuat rancangan program pengembangan dalam mengelola emosi peserta didik di kelas XI TBSM di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 1 Sintuk Toboh Gadang. Kata Kunci : Rancangan program, Mengelola emosi, Bimbingan dan Konseling.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems were many students are having problems of mathematics learning outcomes at schools. Many students did not complete the study of mathematics. The research aims to describe (1) learning motivation,(2) the correlation of learning motivation and student learning outcomes.This study used a descriptive correlational quantitative method. The study population were students of SMAN 1 Rambatan School Year 2014/2015 522 people the sample of 208 people, which is selected by stratified random sampling technique. The instrument was a questionnaire with reliability of 0.971 (motivation to learn). Data have analyzed with descriptive statistics,simple linear regression and multiple regression.The research result showed that (1) students' motivation were at high enough category,(2) there was a correlation of learning motivation the learning outcomes of student.Keyword : Learning Motivation, Mathematics Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the lack of prosocial behavior in students such as not caring when their friends are: sick, have no money, there are students who do not want to study, there are students who do not want to provide support to their friends who excel. The above phenomenon is influenced by the level of intelligence of students. The purpose of this research is to describe; (1) students' emotional intelligence, (2) students' prosocial behavior, and (3) examines the effect of students' emotional intelligence on students' prosocial behavior. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were students of class IX State Junior High School 12 Padang totaling 280 people. The research sample was taken using a simple random sampling formula so that the sample obtained was 74 people. Collecting data using questionnaires, data analysis using descriptive statistics with proportions and simple linear regression techniques. The findings of this study are: (1) students' emotional intelligence is in a fairly high category, (2) students' prosocial behavior is in a fairly high category. and (3) There is a significant and positive contribution between emotional intelligence on students' prosocial behavior. Keyword : emotional, intelligence, prosocial, behavior, students ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena kurangnya perilaku prososial pada siswa seperti tidak peduli ketika temannya: sedang sakit, tidak punya uang, ada ada siswa yang tidak mau belajar berkelompok, ada siswa yang tidak mau memberikan dukungan kepada temannya yang berprestasi. Fenomena di atas diduga dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kecerdasan peserta didik.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan; (1) Kecerdasan emosional siswa, (2) perilaku prososial siswa, dan (3) menguji pengaruh kecerdasan emosional siswa terhadap perilaku prososial siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 12 Padang yang berjumlah 280 orang. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan rumus simple random sampling sehingga sampel berjumlah 74 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan teknik persentase dan regresi linier sederhana. Temuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Kecerdasan emosional siswa berada pada kategori cukup tinggi, (2) Perilaku prososial siswa berada pada kategori cukup tinggi.  dan (3) Terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan dan positif antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap perilaku prososial siswa. Kata Kunci : Kecerdasan, emosional, perilaku, prososial, siswa
