Abstract

This study investigates the operational efficiency paradox in a mid-sized Indonesian construction chemicals distributor experiencing significant revenue growth (73.4% from 2022-2024) alongside declining EBITDA margins (from 7.07% to 6.50%). Using Activity-Based Costing, Value Stream Mapping, Porter's Value Chain Analysis, and industry benchmarking, the research identified seven critical operational inefficiencies costing IDR 1.36-1.79 billion annually (37-48% of operating income). Key inefficiencies include inventory management deterioration (turnover declining from 13.21x to 9.60x), warehouse productivity deficits (20-36% below industry benchmarks), and technology underutilization. The study developed a comprehensive three-phase improvement roadmap requiring IDR 1.54 billion investment to generate IDR 2.32 billion in recurring annual savings, projecting operating margin improvement from 6.50% to 10.56%. Phase 1 quick wins (IDR 165M investment) deliver 311% ROI within 3 months, demonstrating self-funding viability. Benchmarking against industry standards validates improvement targets as conservative and achievable. The research contributes to operations management literature by demonstrating integrated framework application in emerging markets and provides practical guidance for mid-sized B2B distributors facing similar profitability challenges.

Abstract

The process of erosion leads to the loss of fertile topsoil and a reduction in the soil's capacity to store and absorb water. At the research site, community oil palm plantations in Tanjung Pasir Village, Kualuh Selatan District, North Labuhanbatu Regency, land clearing was conducted through logging, and in some cases, burning. Subsequent plantation management was carried out without implementing soil conservation measures and while disregarding environmental factors, resulting in soil degradation and productivity decline linked to erosion. This study aims to predict the magnitude of erosion using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method, calculate the tolerable soil loss, and analyze the erosion hazard level. The USLE method was applied by calculating the causative factors of erosion: rainfall erosivity (R), soil erodibility (K), slope length and steepness (LS), cover management (C), and conservation practices (P). The predicted erosion values were then compared to the tolerable soil loss values to determine the necessity of conservation interventions. The results indicate that the highest predicted erosion value (A) was 521.73 tons/ha/year on plot KS1, while the lowest was 111.09 tons/ha/year on plot KS5. Meanwhile, the tolerable soil loss (TSL) ranged from 43.86 to 64.38 tons/ha/year. Based on this comparison, two classes of erosion hazard were identified: very high and high. Both classes exhibited predicted erosion values far exceeding the permissible limits. Therefore, conservation measures are imperative, one of which involves planting dense Legume Cover Crops (LCC).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Article 93 paragraph (1) of Law No. 45 of 2009 concerning Fisheries in Decision No. 317/Pid.Sus/2013/PN.RHL. The focus of the study is on proving the elements of the crime, the suitability of the evidence used, and the judge's legal considerations in issuing the decision. The method used is normative legal research with a statutory approach and a case approach. The results of the study indicate that all elements of the crime regulated in Article 93 paragraph (1) have been fulfilled through valid evidence based on Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The judge in this case is considered to have applied the provisions of the article appropriately, both in terms of evidence and legal considerations. However, the decision still has weaknesses in terms of strengthening ecological aspects and deterrent effects on perpetrators of fisheries crimes. Therefore, a more comprehensive legal approach is needed that not only provides criminal sanctions, but also considers environmental losses and the need for sustainable protection of marine resources.

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including the modus operandi of criminal acts. This article discusses criminal liability in a case of premeditated murder mediated by the MICHAT friendship application. The case study focuses on the Bengkalis District Court Decision Number 186/Pid.B/2025/PN Bis, which sentenced defendant Arif Indra Lexmana Shiombing to 13 years in prison. This research uses a normative juridical method with a case study approach. The results show that the elements of intent and planning (dolus et premeditatio) in Article 340 of the Criminal Code are legally and convincingly proven, even though the initial motive was not to kill, but rather as a form of revenge for the fraud experienced by the defendant. These findings underscore the importance of adaptive law enforcement to technological developments, as well as the need for sociological and psychological considerations in sentencing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of price and network quality on user decisions. Respondents in this study were 70 people from the village of Central Pondok Baru who used the Tri cellular card. Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis, it was concluded that price and network quality had an effect on usage decisions. In this study using research instruments in the form of validity and reliability tests. Validity means that the instrument can be used to measure what it is supposed to measure. While the instrument reliability means that when used to measure many times will produce the same data. Based on the results of the t test and significance, it is known to have a T Count of 3.327 and a significant level of 0.01 is less than 0.05. It can be concluded that the price variable partially has a significant effect on the user decision variable. This means, the results of the t-test also show the partial influence of network quality on user decisions based on the results of the t-test of 3,048 and a significant level of 0.03 which is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the product quality variable partially has a significant effect on usage decisions. The results of the F test or t test (simultaneous) show that the variables are price and user quality. This can be seen from the Fhitung of 16.106 > Ftable of 3.13 (16.106> 3.13).
