Abstract

K.H. Hasyim Asy’ari gait on Islamic education in Indonesia is the real act of governance developing power. The Thought and the Islamic Education dakwah K.H. Hasyim Asy'ari give good benefits to Muslim Indonesia. Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang East Java is the historical evidence concerning to development of Islamic education in Indonesia. This article aims to examine the contribution of K.H. Hasyim Asy’ari on the development of Indonesia Islamic Education. This research uses a qualitative method with literary research. The paper presents a scientific issue on the contribution of K.H. Hasyim Asy'ari Thoughts for Indonesia Islamic Education. First, the developing Education takes by Pondok pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. Second, improving Education goes from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization. Third, witting education makes the development of Kitab Kuning. The three points will be discussed in this paper.

Abstract

Abu Teupin Raya also called by Tengku H. Muhammad Ali Irsyad is the most influential Ulama in Aceh. In fact, he has contributed guarding in Islamic education such as establishing Dayah Darussa’adah and has been preserving dakwah on Islamic tradition with various writing on Islamic studies. Since 1967, according to the traditional view of dayah, he is keeping pesantren to develop with many models of Quantity and Quality education in Indonesia. In addition, he has 23 book papers with local language and Arabic handwriting. With the information above, this paper uses qualitative research methods and will be explored to the act Abu Teupin Raya to build dayah in Aceh where the legacy of the script Kitab Kuning is written for improving Islamic education in Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the biography of KH Djamaluddin Amien and his thoughts. He was a generator figure of a social and educational movement that began with the emphasis on the development of educational facilities ranging from Kindergarten (TK / TPQ Raudhatul Athfal), Elementary School, Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Aliyah. In addition, he also built a mosque in Karaeng land, Bissoloro, Gowa District. The personality of KH Djamaluddin Amien as a figure of Muhammadiyah in South Sulawesi had its own characteristics especially in his thoughts on religious education, curriculum renewal, and teaching method by combining the teaching methods of KH Ahmad Dahlan and KH Hasyim Asy'ari. The character education model is through religious extracurricular by combining elements of religious study and general sciences in elementary and madrasah by using the classical system. The developed concept of education is multicultural, open to change, emphasis on discussion and dialogue, and social spirit. He was also active in teaching the yellow book by applying the Sorogan and Bandongan methods. The Kyai chose a simple life accompanied by visionary and consistent thoughts against the stagnation in thinking and doing good deeds.

Abstract

Pesantren is a native Islamic education institution of Indonesia; while the school is a modern educational institution. The tested pesantren excelled in the development of religiosity, simple lifestyle, and independence of the santri; while schools excel in the intellectual and vocational development of the students. Learning in pesantren uses an individual system, while the school uses a classical system. Kiai Hasan Ulama is the Mursyid of the Tarekat Shaththariah, better known as Wasithah, precisely Wasithah 43 (1873-1916). In 1886, he founded Pesantren Takeran (Magetan East Java) as the first modern pesantren in Indonesia that combines the excellence of pesantren and school systems. The educational model is preserved by Wasithah to the present, namely Pesantren Sabilul Muttaqien (PSM) Takeran (Wasithah 44-45), PSM Tanjunganom Nganjuk (Wasithah 46), Pondok Modern Resources At-Taqwa (Pomosda) Tanjunganom Nganjuk (Wasithah 47), and Pondok Pesantren Matlabus Salik (Pondok Al-Matlab) Jogomerto Nganjuk (Wasithah 48/now). The study aims to describe the modern pesantren model established by Kiai Hasan Ulama. The study method used a qualitative approach with documentary study techniques ((on main ideas of Mursyid), ex post facto (educational institution of Wasithah 47), and depth interview with the Wasithah now. The study found that Pesantren Pomosda (2008-2012) and Pesantren Al-Matlab (2016 -...) is the present Pesantren Takeran that runs the school system excellence in pesantren ways.

Abstract

This research aims to explore Mukhtar Yahya and his thoughts on the Muhadasah method in learning Arabic which was analyzed by the learning theory of behaviorism. This is qualitative research with historical and psychological approaches. The historical approach is used since Mukhtar Yahya as the figure had passed away. While the psychological approach is used to analyze Muktar Yahya’s Muhadasah method. The results show first, Mukhtar Yahya was a figure who had a big role in the birth of PTAIN and IAIN Sunan Kalijaga. During his role in PTAIN and IAIN Sunan Kalijaga, Mukhtar Yahya held important positions, even Mukhtar Yahya often had double positions in IAIN. In his academic career, Mukhtar Yahya was a highly qualified intellectual in the fields of religion and the Arabic language. His ability was influenced by his intellectual brilliance and accompanied by a high spirit in studying religion. Second, the psychological approach shows that the Muhadasah method of Mukhtar Yahya was strongly influenced by behaviorism learning theory. Although Mukhtar Yahya did not say that his methods were influenced by behaviorism learning theory, the theory was highly visible in the learning steps of Muhadasah. In the Muhadasah method, the learning process will occur due to the presence of stimulus which then produces learning responses from students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the charismatic figure of kyai (Dr. KH Ahmad Musthofa Kamal) and his development strategy of visionary pesantren Bidayatul Hidayah Pasuruan East Java that has competitive value, both in national and international level. Therefore, this research is qualitative research in the form of field research by using interviews, observation, and documentation in data collection, and using interactive analysis models of Miles and Huberman in analyzing the findings which consist of data reduction, display data, and conclusion. The results of this research concluded: Dr. KH Ahmad Musthofa Kamal is a kyai who since his youth has had a high charisma value around the people in pesantren Bidayatul Hidayah Pasuruan which is characterized by the adherence and high commitment of them on him, including in the implementation of his pesantren education policy; And the strategy of developing visionary pesantren which undertaken by Dr.KH. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal at Pesantren Bidayatul Hidayah includes several things: (a). Improving the quality of education process at Pesantren Bidayatul Hidayah through developing the competence of educator with the scholarship inside and outside country, the provision of competence enrichment such as training of Islamic astronomy and pesantren curriculum, developing education facilities of special boarding’s (language, qiroah al-kutub, huffadz lil Qur'an, al-kutub at-turast), and developing visiting teacher program from Middle East-Europe. (b) Improving the quality of pesantren education outcomes in a number of programs, including strengthening the competence of graduates through entrepreneurship training, and community service, strengthening the network of pesantren graduates as well as strengthening cooperation network among pesantren and world Islamic organization.

Abstract

This article focused on the efforts of Kiai Haji Dr. Idham Khalid as a leader in the Pesantren Normal Islam Amuntai South Kalimantan. He leads the pesantren in the context that the society needs of renewal efforts of Islamic educational aspects in the midst of the country's struggle for independence. This research is important because the Islamic boarding school (pesantren) Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah Amuntai South Kalimantan until today remains to maintain its tradition and at the same time developing it with normal Islam conception to perpetuate it as one madrasah under the largest Pesantren in South Kalimantan. This study used literature and interview as methods. The paper finds that the role of Kiai Haji Dr. Idham Chalid in educational reform at boarding schools occurs by changing its dynamics through proposed and evolutive forms. The forms are conservative at the initial phase; reformative in the middle of his leadership and transformative in the period of Pesantren Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah. These findings are based on a number of aspects of education being examined, they are the aspect of the pesantren education goals by analyzing the dynamics of the curriculum, and the flexible aspect by examining its persistency in maintaining classical books of Islam. The latter is to maintain the tradition of moderate clerics in the reproduction of Madrasah (schooling) by integrating classical books and the modern literature. Organizational survival strategy was developed by diversifying the variants of boarding school institutions which is influenced by Kyai’s leadership using a synergy and collaboration approach to prepare with cadre for organizational sustainability.

Abstract

Since the Pattani region entered into a nation-state of Thailand there have been various policies of assimilation toward the people of Southern Thailand. Until the present time, this policy has caused a conflict to both sides. The main problem is not about religious issues, but the ethnicity to maintain Malay-Muslim identity from Thai-Buddhist threats. Efforts to understand each other's identity, both Malay-Islamic and Thai-Buddhist can be continuously explored, such as Islamic values ​​as ummatan wasathan and Buddha’s Majjhima-patipada oriented to the idea of ​​"middle way". Efforts to understand each other can be done through education starting from Early Childhood Education to Higher Education. Efforts to understand both identities can also be done by a figure, such as Haji Sulong. Haji Sulong's struggle has initially prioritized the renewal of the Islamic Education System in Pattani, both the management and the curriculum. But along with the royal policy that continues to pressure the people of Southern Thailand, Haji Sulong also plunged into the political world. Haji Sulong heroic values ​​can be a transformative spirit for the people of South Thailand, such as (1) Innovative value, (2) Caring values, (3) Values ​​of love/empathy, (4) Prudence, (5) The value of self-control, (6) The value of justice, (7) The value of courage, and etc.

Abstract

The leadership of Kiai plays an essential act in the Institution structure of Pesantren. The important enrolled of Kiai is a good man on life purpose, a change agent, a negotiator with advice, and a coach calm. The reformer Kiai does on leadership with transformation ideas on based charisma attitude and intellectual ideology. The research method is qualitative research with a phenomenology approach. The research subjects consist of Kiai, boarding school administrators, students, people residents around pesantren. The respondents are as many as 60 people. The Research locations are at as sa'idah, Al Matuq, and Sunanul Huda Pesantren. With this point, the paper will need to explain the leadership of Kiai Pesantren especially in order to support the quality management of Pesantren on educational proses.

Abstract

The study of the paper aims to describe efforts to improve the quality of an institution's University of leadership management. The method uses a quantitative approach and path analysis. The point management institution is the academic education quality and the reputation of the university's publications which is the Tridarma statute for Higher Education in teaching-learning, research approach, and community service. Scientific publications are a starting point for global involvement in Higher Education management. Higher education management shows from Webometrics as an international recognition database for university rankings. It sees on the accreditation institutions such as ISO, National Accreditation for Higher Education as a quality service assessment bodies for Higher Education, e-Journal as a scientific publication agency in the publishing management network for papers written by lecturers and research findings of universities, and International office as an institution for national and international partnerships to achieve organizational success. The paper discusses 4 official Leadership Management Programs to improve the quality of the Bengkulu State Islamic Institute (IAIN Bengkulu).
