Science is a branch of science whose focus is on nature and the processes in it. Science deals with how to understand nature systematically. Science learning at the junior high school level in the 2013 curriculum is carried out in an integrated manner. The principle of cohesiveness is the study of living thing s and their relationship to physics and chemistry. In science learning, sometimes there are phenomena that are difficult to observe, hear, touch and feel directly, so that students sometimes experience difficulties because science is a science that requires an understanding of the material to be given. One way to solve this problem is by presenting learning media that makes learning clear, interesting, and easy to understand so that it can improve student learning competencies. The method used in this research is descriptive followed by meta-analysis. The research population was articles with the problem of the influence of integrated science learning media on junior high school students' competencies published in ISSN journals both nationally and internationally. The research sample was 15 articles with similar problems. The articles analyzed revealed that overall the research conducted had an effect and was effective on the Cognitive Competencies of junior high school students. This can be seen from the analysis of research results in the literature and supported by the average effect size. The use of Science Learning Media has an effect on class VII with an effect size (1.335) in the very high category, and student learning outcomes in the cognitive competency aspect (0.69) in the moderate category.

On teaching and learning process, educators are required to be able to create situations that allow students to be active and creative. One of the efforts to integrate science with ethnoscience in the form of teaching materials is one of the breakthroughs in the development of teaching materials. The observation in SMPN 11 Padang shows that still used teaching materials in the form of LKPD which colorless and newspaper base paper. This made students' interest in learning are decline. Based on the observation result, the researcher wants to do research that the aim is to produce science teaching material integrated ethnoscience that valid and practical to use. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The research method used in the 3 stages of the 4-D (Four-D model), namely defines, design, and development. Teaching materials are valid when the eligibility criteria for content, language, presentation, and graphics are reached by the validator's expert. Teaching materials are practical when the criteria for ease of use, time efficiency, and benefits have been assessed by teachers and students. The validity and practicality values obtained through instruments in the form of interview sheets, validity questionnaires, and practicality questionnaires. The results showed that the integrated ethnoscience science teaching materials can be used with valid and practical categories. © Department of Science Education, Universitas Negeri Padang Keywords: Science Teaching Materials, Webbed, Ethnoscience, 4-D Model.

Natural Science (IPA) is one of the subjects at the junior high school level, generally taught as an integrated science that studies living things physically and chemically. The main problem is that the competence of students in learning has not been achieved. This could be further improved through applying from discovery models. The goal of this study was to analyze and describe the impact of practicing discovery learning education on student academic competence based on grade at junior high schools, based on learning outcomes, and based on the subject matter. This study including a qualitative descriptive study put on a meta-analysis method. Discovery learning model is effectively used to improve the competence of students based on the class level in junior high school. It can be seen from the effect size value is the effect of discovery learning model on students science competence is 1.33 in a very high category, which means that the discovery learning model has a great effect on increasing competence of students and the use of discovery learning models for subject matter have a great influence, especially on the subject of hydrostatic pressure and Archimedes law.

The Class VII Science Odd Semester Exam Questions at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan for the 2019/2020 academic year are not analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively and do not have standardized questions. Standardized questions are questions that have been tried several times, have a coefficient of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, distinguishing power, and other information deemed necessary. Therefore, the researcher felt the need to analyze the items. This study aims to determine the quality of the items qualitatively and quantitatively (reliability, validity, distinguishing power, difficulty level, and distractor quality). This research is descriptive research. The research population consisted of all the answer sheets for the Class VII IPA odd semester examination at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan for the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 26 students. The sampling technique used total sampling technique. The research instrument used a question construction quality questionnaire. Data collection techniques with document study. The quantitative results were analyzed using the ANATES program.Based on the research results, it was found that: 1) The construct validity of the questions did not yet fulfill all aspects, both in terms of science content, construction, and language; 2) The validity of the questions was low, dominated by invalid questions; 3) Reliability category is sufficient; 4) Poor differentiation; 5) Medium level of difficulty; 6) Distractor quality is good and functioning. Thus, the questions have not met the criteria for good and standardized questions, so they need to be revised.
