Abstract

Traunt behavior is a negative bahavior in students that does not reflect the meaning of life, where the meaning of life is characterized by positive attitude and behaviors aimed at the future. The meaning of life is an individual condition that lives positively and passion to achieve the goal set. This paper aims to describe the concepts of the meaning of life, aspects of the meaning of life, factors of the meaning of life, and it’s relation to traunt student behavior. The method used the study literature, and data analysis technique use is by observation and interviews. The result of the discussion aimed that traunt students had a low meaningful life. This show that the meaning of life is very important for students to have a good behavior aimed at their future. The provision of counseling services by guidance and counseling teachers in school can help students to have the meaning of life.

Abstract

Early childhood education needs to develop mathematics. The process of mathematical development in children does not escape the guidance and role of parents. Factors supporting parental guidance include education and parental occupation. This study aims to describe the effect of parents' educational background and occupation on the ability to guide children's mathematics. This study uses a descriptive correlational quantitative method with 186 parents of kindergarten children in the Koto Tangah sub-district as respondents. Analysis of research data was carried out using the percentage of multiple regression with dummy variables using SPSS 26. Data collection from the study used a questionnaire validated by expert judgement techniques and reliability test using Cronbach's alpha formula with the results obtained that is 0.90. The research findings are (1) in terms of parental education, it is in a good category in encouraging children's development, (2) in terms of parents' work, it is in a good category in improving the ability of teachers to monitor children, (3) the effect on increasing mathematical abilities. ,5%, (4) the effect of work on the ability to encourage mathematics by 7.1%, (5) gender does not affect the ability to develop, (6) work and gender together on the ability to develop mathematics by 8 ,3%. (7) overall education, occupation and gender contribute or influence the ability to guide children's mathematics.

Abstract

Writing is one of the important skills that should be mastered by the students. In writing, the students need to express their feeling in a good way and well-organized. In fact, most of students were lack of idea and could not write well-organized in written form. The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of Peer Conference Strategy and students’ self-confidence toward the writing skill of recount text. The sample consists of 64 students. The research data was collected using writing test and self-confidence questionnaires. Data analysis was using t-test and Two Ways ANOVA. The analysis of the research results shows that (1) Peer Conference strategy was effective than expository strategy; (2) Peer Conference strategy was effective to high self-confidence students; (3) Peer Conference strategy was not effective to low self-confidence students; (4) There was an interaction both teaching strategies and self-confidence in writing skill.

Abstract

Beberapa atlit mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan renang gaya dada. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah kurangnya kepercayaan diri atlit dalam melakukannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau efektifitas metode renang dengan bantuan teman untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri Atlit dalam melakukan renang gaya dada. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode quasi experimen. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 79 orang atlit renang. Kemudian dilakukan penarikan sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sehingga didapatkan 41 orang yang menjadi sampel penelitian. Intrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrumen tentang kepercayaan diri. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik t-test. Data dianalisis dalam dua kelompok, yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Perangkat yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah SPSS versi 16. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode renang dengan bantuan teman efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri atlit dalam berenang gaya dada. Dengan taraf signifikansi 6.42 dan ? = 0.05.

Abstract

The emergence of the internet has a major effect on human life, including in education. The internet contributes to academics so that it has a very important role for student learning success. This research aims to describe the contribution of internet utilization as a learning resource towards the student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Padang. This study used a descriptive quantitative research method, and the data were analyzed by using the simple linear regression. The population of this research was 920 students of SMA Negeri 2 Padang, and the sample chosen was 279 students selected by using the proportional random sampling technique. The research instrument used was a scale of internet utilization with a Likert model. The findings of this research showed that the use of the internet as a learning resource contributes towards the student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Padang with an effective contribution 40.4%.

Abstract

This research was based on the fail to buil the student character by scout activity. The purpose of this research is to analyze the management of scout activity in school. It used qualitative approach to analyse the management of scout activity in school.  It used qualitative approach to analyse, to organize, to execute and to supervise the management scout in school. The data collected from headmaster, vice headmaster, scoutmaster and students. Had been doing by obsevation, interview and documentations. It was also analyzed by data reduction technique, data sample and summarizing to determine the exact implementation for character building. The data was examined by triangular technique and source. The research showed that scout management in effort to build student character was done by school by formulating, deciding and developing character values in scout vision, mission, purpose and work plan. Yet it was not determined the duty and right of scout implementer approplated whith the competency so it has not been developing the attitude of sprituality, emotion, social, intelectuality and phisic of student. It happened because the headmaster had not executed the supervision and monitory, report and follow-up the work plan. It is excepted to all school element to cooperate in doing scout management to build scout character in student.

Abstract

Counselors as an educator qualification are required to continuously improve and develop academic qualifications and competencies. Professional development is carried out with a variety of things including writing scientific papers. This activity is conducted to provide training of school counselors to write the results of research that has been done, specifically with regard to making scientific articles that are ready to be submitted in reputable national and international journals. The subjects of this service are all Pamekasan school counselors. The method of implementing scientific article writing training activities for Pamekasan counselors is carried out through 3 stages, namely problem identification, implementation and evaluation. Data collection by qualitatively using analysis of interview results and observations of the participants in the activity. Training results show, after participating in this training activity, school counselors in Pamekasan have gained insight, knowledge and skills about writing scientific articles. This training has helped alleviate the workload of school counselors, especially related to scientific publication obligations

Abstract

The development of an increasingly sophisticated era, especially in the field of technology, one of which is gadgets, so that it can have positive and negative impacts on its users.  One of the negative impacts is the excessive use of gadgets on students, in their use students are not able to limit them so that it causes a decrease in student motivation in learning.  This study aims: (1) to describe gadget abuse among students, (2) to describe student learning motivation, and (3) to examine the relationship between gadget abuse and junior high school students' learning motivation.  This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational type.  The subjects of this study were 263 students using the Simple Random Sampling technique.  The instrument used was a questionnaire using a Likert scale.  Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and to examine the relationship between gadget misuse and learning motivation, the Pearson product moment correlation technique was used.  The results showed that: (1) gadget abuse is generally in the high category, (2) learning motivation is in the medium category, and (3) there is a negative relationship between gadget abuse and student motivation with a correlation coefficient of -0.346 and a significance level  0.001.  Based on the results of the research, it is expected that counseling teachers can provide assistance in the form of information guidance services, group guidance services, so that they are able to increase learning motivation well.

Abstract

The background of this research is still the low discipline of teacher work in SMP  V Koto Kampung Dalam Pariaman. It is not yet effective that the principal's instructional leadership and teacher work motivation are still low. The purpose of this research is to know the principal of principal's principal leadership and work motivation from teacher work discipline. Data by questionnaire with likert scale that has validity and reliability. Data were analyzed by correlation and regression technique.The results showed: 1) the principal's principal leadership contributed to the teacher's work discipline of 26.1%; 2) the work motivation contributed to the teacher's work discipline of 23.6% and 3) the principal's principal leadership and work motivation jointly contributed to discipline of teacher work by 36,5%. Based on descriptive analysis revision of headmaster leadership and work motivation and teacher work discipline are both in good enough category of ideal score.

Abstract

Drug abuse in the form of increased aseertiveness through group guidance services in efforts to prevent drugs is rarely done is schools. This study aims to see the effectiveness of guidance services group in increasing student assertiveness to prevent drug abuse. This study used quantitative research with experimental methods Quasi Experiment Design approach through the design of the Non Equivalent Control Group Population research students of SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat and research samples of class XI Mekatronika and XI Audio Visual. Data collected by questionnaire and analyzed using Wilxocon Signed Rank Test and Kolmogorov Smirnov Two Independent. Based on the results of the study it was found that group guidance services were effective in increasing student assertiveness to prevent drug abuse.
