This study uses films to provide positive stimulation for students. So that students can develop self-confidence and independence in solving problems. The problems that relate to personal, social, academic, and career. The purpose of this study is analyze the used of films in group guidance service to improve students' problem solving skills. This used experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. The participants were ten junior high school students with low level of problem-solving skill. They were selected using purposive sampling technique. Problem-solving skill scale was employed as the instrument of the study. The reliability test shows the reliability coefficient of 0.926. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. This study found that movie is effective to improve student’s problem-solving skill. Based on the finding of the study, the counselors and future studies are suggested to consider effective media to help students to improve their problem-solving skill.

The purpose of this research resulted learning motivation inventory for vocational high school students that meet the requirements of validity and reliability, so that it is able to measure the learning motivation of students that would become the guidelines on teacher guidance and counselling in providing tutoring services as well as to arouse the learning motivation of students. This research is the development of research or research and development model of the Borg and Gall, by involving 317 students. The population of this research is the vocational high school students aged 15-19 years. The taking of the sample of this study using cluster random sampling, while the analysis used product moment pearson, cronbach alpha, test for normality and an analysis of the factors. This research resulted learning motivation inventory for vocational high school students consisting of 59 items statement declared valid, has a high level of reliability, data is normally distributed and has 15 correlating factors on each particular item. Thus this study motivation inventory product can be used to identify learning problems of vocational high school students.

Empathy and the ability to see things from the client’s perspective is also important, as is the counsellor’s ability to demonstrate an investment of their time and full attention. The purpose of this study is 1) to know the level of empathy of students Guidance and Counseling Program University of Kanjuruhan Malang; 2) To describe the difference of empathy level of students based on force and gender. The subjects of this study are students Guidance and Counseling Program University of Kanjuruhan Malang class of 2013, 2014 and 2015. The research instrument used is empathy scale which is then processed by using descriptive statistic, Test-t and Anova. The result of this research is 57,5% of students are at high empathy level, 35,7% student are in moderate empathy level, and 6,8% student student is a low; 2) There is no significant difference of empathy level of students based on force 2) There is a significant difference of empathy level based on gender.

Specifically this study attempts to 1) provide information accurate data about levels of students social intelligence 2) To present an accurate data about the level of students social intelligence based on ethnicity. This research use descriptive- quantitative methodology. This research use purposive sampling of 120 students Faculty of Education. Research instrument used social intelligence scale consisting of 70 items. Data were processed using descriptive statistics and ANOVA test. Based on these results we can conclude that 1) 61.7% Students are at a high level of social intelligence, 38.3% Students are at moderate levels of social intelligence, 0% Students are at a low level of social intelligence; 2) There are significant differences between the scores of social intelligence in all regions.

Specifically, this research aims to know the effectiveness of REBT Group Counseling to improve the self-esteem of college students. The subjects in this research were students of the faculty of science education force in 2015 identified as having the characteristics of low self esteem. The population in this research is 742 people consisting of 5 courses. A sample of members of the population use purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument used treatment material in the form of the implementation guidelines REBT group counseling and self-esteem scale that Rosenberg's self-esteem scale which has proven validity and reliability. The conclusion in this research is 1) There is an increase in self-esteem from 100% of college students have low self-esteem after being given the results obtained REBT group counseling 40% of college students in the moderate category and 60% in the high category. 2) Self-esteem increased after the college students is given REBT group counseling or could mean that the effective group counseling to improve the self-esteem of college students.The suggestion in this research is: 1) The suggestions for counseling and testing centers that REBT group counseling can be used as an help for students in problem solving. 2) The suggestion for further researcher is for further research in order to apply the techniques that are diverse in the REBT group counseling.

UNBK is the toughest challenge to students of class XII. Some students are hesitant and anxious to face exams. This is what makes they need to develop resilience and self efficacy. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship between self efficacy and resilience facing the exams. This research uses quantitative approach from / to correlational descriptive design. The subjects are the overall class XII students amounting to 182 students, so this research is a population research. Data were collected using a Likert instrument that measures self-efficacy and resilience facing exams. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis, prerequisite test in the form of normality test, and correlation test. Based on the results of the research can be seen most of the class XII students in SMA Negeri 1 Trawas have the level of self efficacy and resilience facing exams on the medium. From Product Moment correlation test results obtained r calculate of 0.716 with a significance level of 0.000 which indicates that the self efficacy variables are positively correlated and significant with resilience facing exams variables.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to: 1) determine the level of student’s social intelligence before the application of bibliocounseling technique, 2) determine the level of student’s social intelligence after the application of bibliocounseling technique, and 3) determine the effectiveness of bibliocounseling technique in improving student’s social intelligence. This research used quantitative approach with pretest and posttest quasi-experimental design withs samples of 12 students who were netted using purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument used is the scale of social intelligence. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon non parametric test statistics. The results show that 1) the level of student’s social intelligence before receiving bibliocounseling technique were in the low category, 2) after using the bibliocounseling technique, the level of student’s empathy had shifted to the high category, 3) bibliocounseling technique were proven to be effective in improving students' social intelligence. Suggestions submitted in this study are: 1) for counselors to use bibliocounseling technique as one of alternative strategy to help high-school students to have a qualified social intelligence, 2) high-school counselors can implement bibliocounseling materials that are conform with students' social intelligence problems, 3) other researchers could develops bibliocounseling guidebook that based on the technique implemented in this research.

Layanan peer counseling dapat membantu konselor di sekolah untuk dapat memberikan layanan kepada siswa secara optimal. Pelatihan pembentukan peer counseling bagi siswa SMA Brawijaya Smart School bertujuan untuk melatih siswa SMA Brawijaya Smart School menjadi peer counselor. Sasaran kegiatan untuk pelatihan ini adalah 10 siswa . Untuk melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan ini digunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi dan praktik. Dari hasil pelatihan, evaluasi kegiatan dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1) Setelah mengikuti kegiatan Pelatihan ini, peserta telah mendapatkan wawasan dan pengetahuan tentang peer counseling; 2) Pelatihan ini telah membawa nuansa baru dalam dunia bimbingan konseling setempat, untuk membantu meringankan beban kerja konselor sekolah dan membantu siswa yang lain dalam menyelesaikan masalahnya; 3) Siswa yang menjadi konselor sebaya bertugas sebagai pendamping siswa lain dalam memecahkan masalah yang dihadapinya, baik akademik maupun non-akademik.; 4) siswa yang mengikuti pelatihan peer counseling menjadi mediator bagi konselor sekolah dalam memberikan informasi tentang kondisi, perkembangan, atau masalah siswa yang memerlukan layanan bimbingan atau konseling.

Counselors as an educator qualification are required to continuously improve and develop academic qualifications and competencies. Professional development is carried out with a variety of things including writing scientific papers. This activity is conducted to provide training of school counselors to write the results of research that has been done, specifically with regard to making scientific articles that are ready to be submitted in reputable national and international journals. The subjects of this service are all Pamekasan school counselors. The method of implementing scientific article writing training activities for Pamekasan counselors is carried out through 3 stages, namely problem identification, implementation and evaluation. Data collection by qualitatively using analysis of interview results and observations of the participants in the activity. Training results show, after participating in this training activity, school counselors in Pamekasan have gained insight, knowledge and skills about writing scientific articles. This training has helped alleviate the workload of school counselors, especially related to scientific publication obligations
