Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and increase in student learning outcomes in social studies learning by using The Power Of Two model in the fifth grade of elementary school. Types of this research was classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approach. The research subject was 28 grade V students. The research procedure consistend of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The result of the study showed and increase in aspects: a) RPP cycle I with an average of 67,85% and cycle II 92,85%, b) implementation on the aspect of the teacher cycle I with an average of 70,53% and the second cycle 92,85%, the aspect of the students of the first cycle with an average 66,07% and cycle II 89,28%, c) learning outcomes in the first cycle with an average of 69,12% and cycle II 91,07%. The conclusions from the result of the research conducted are using the Make a Match model can improve student learning outcomes in social stundent learning in class V SD Negeri 11 Indarung Padang

Abstract

This article was written to describe the relationship between vocabulary mastery and student’s reading comprehension. This research type is correlation research by using quantitative approach. there are two data to be processed. First, vocabulary mastery. Second, reading comprehension. The design used in this study is the design korelasinal with a population of all students class III which amounted to 162 people. Sampling method used is Cluster Random Sampling which amounted to 52 people. to test the hypothesis of this study using t test statistic with 5% level of significance (0.05). The result of this research is first, the mastery of vocabulary of learners is in sufficient qualification (66,63). Second, students' reading comprehension ability is in good qualification (75,57). Third, there is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension ability on n-2 degrees of freedom and significance level of 0.05 research results prove that tcount is bigger than ttable that is 11,090> 2,009.Keywords: Relationship vocabulary, reading comprehension, student

Abstract

This research starts from the reality in the field that teachers have not fully developed the Student Worksheets. This research was conducted in class IV SD Plus Marhamah, Padang City. Development of Student Worksheets Based on Lectora Inspire with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach Presentation Material Data in SD IV SD Plus Marhamah Padang City refers to the model proposed by Borg & Gall. The results of the research developed, the results of the validity level of the Student Worksheets obtained an average validation of 4.74 with a very valid category. Furthermore, the results of testing the practicality of Student Worksheets are stated to be very practical. This can be seen from the results of teacher responses that have been implemented to get 91.67 results with a very practical category and the results of student responses amounting to 87.73 in a very practical category. Thus, the Lectora Inspire-based Student Worksheet with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach for the presentation of the data developed was declared very valid and very practical and feasible to use.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out the effects of applying the NHT model toward the students’ learning outcomes of Civics subject at class V of SDN 09 Bandar Buat. The population of this quasi experiment research was all grade students of the school with the total number of 56 students. The samples were Class VA and VB. Data were obtained from a pretest and a posttest. They were analized by using the inferential statistics (t-test). The analysis shows that the score of tcount = 1.772 while P-Value = 0.082. Since the score P-Value is lower that α = 0.05, the H1 hypothesis is accepted. Keywords: the NHT Model, Learning Outcomes, effect, PKn

Abstract

Cheating behavior is fraud committed by students when doing school assignments, homework and examinations. This study aims to: (1) describe the self-control of students, (2) describe the behavior of cheating students, and (3) test the significance of the relationship of self-control to cheating behavior on students. This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive correlational types. The research subjects were 267 students from SMKN 1 Batusangkar. The instrument used is a self-control questionnaire and cheating behavior questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques and Pearson Product Moment techniques with the help of SPSS for Windows 20. Based on the results of the study showed that: (1) self control in students was in the sufficient category with a percentage of 62.47%, (2) student cheating behavior was in the medium category with a percentage of 77.08%, (3) and there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and cheating behavior on students with a correlation coefficient of -0.336 and a significance level of 0.000.

Abstract

The background of the research was the low of data about the mathematical connection skill for elementary students. The aim of te research is inding out the effect of problem based learning to the mathematical connection skill at the fourth level IV of SDN 01 Bandar Buat. The kind of he research was quantitative in the design esperriment quasy form. The population of the research was the students of the fourth level IV of SDN Komplek Blok D Unand the included from 2(two) schools. It was with sampling random simple technique, it go the SDN 011 Bandar Buat, which was the SDB 01 Bandar Buat had 2(two) class. The instrument of the research was the written test in essay from. The technique of data analysis was t-test. Based on the result of research, it found the average score of post-test about the mathematical connection skill by Problem Based Learning model in experiment group was 83,8 and control group that used conventional learning was 65,36. So, the result was the average of experiment group was highest than control group. Based on the calculation of t-test, it got t-obtain 6,893 while t-table 0,05 and dk=58 was 2,00. The mean was t-obtain > t-table and Problem Based Learning model to the student’s mathematical connection skill at IV SDN 011 Bandar Buat.            Keywords: Problem Based Learning model, mathematical connection.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of model CTL to the learning outcomes of students for citizenship education. The method used is a quasi-experimental methods. This study was conducted in SDN 18 Sungai Salak. The sample in this study consisted of two groups, the experimental group numbering and the control group were numbered 38 students. Based on data analysis usin t-test conducted on the significant level α = 0,05, indicates that the learning outcomes of student who are taught model CTL obtained tcount 2,7604 and ttabel 1,68830, with the result that tcount< ttable. It can be concluded that there is significant relationship between learning model CTL on students learning outcomes. Keyword: CTL model, citizenship education, students learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the skills of writing student observation reports with experiential learning models for fifth-grade students of SDN 05 Air Tawar Barat at the pre-writing, writing and post-writing stages. This type of research is Classroom Action Research using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research subjects were teachers and fifth-grade students of SDN 05 Air Tawar Barat with data collection techniques in the form of observation and portfolio assessment. The results of the study indicate an increase in the implementation and student learning outcomes. Assessment of the implementation of teacher activities in the first cycle averaged 75%, in the second cycle an average of 92.9%. Assessment of the implementation of student activities in the first cycle averaged 75%, in the second cycle an average of 92.9%. The results of the recapitulation of student scores in the first cycle with a class average of 74.9%, in the second cycle the results of the recapitulation were 83.7%. Thus it is stated that the experiential learning model can improve the writing skills of student observation reports.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the planning, implementation and improvement learning outcomes of students using a discovery learning model in integrated thematic learning in grade IV Elementary School. In this study applying the type of PTK research uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. Where this research was conducted on class IV B SDN 34 Simpang Haru Kota Padang totaling 27 people consisting of 11 male students and 16 female students. The results of the study in the first cycle of learning outcomes reached a percentage of completeness of 55,56%  (enough category) with an average value of 73,1 (good category) increased in the second cycle percentage of completeness 96,3% (very good category) with an average achievement of 86,7 (very good category).

Abstract

This study aims to describing the improvement of thematic learning process by using scientific approach in Grade 2 Elementary School of 12 Bukik Cangang at Bukittinggi cityi. This research used qualitative and quantitative approach. This research was classroom action research and had two cycles. The research subject was a teacher and 26 students of Grade II Elementary School of 12 Bukik Cangang Kota Bukittinggi.  The  study’s results shows the increasing in: Lesson plan of the first cycle is meeting 1 is 75%  (enaugh), meeting 2 is 81,25% (good),  and  the second  cycle meeting 1 is 97,22% (very  good). Teacher’s activities in first cycle meeting 1 is 65,63%  (enaugh), meeting 2 is 84,37% (good), the second cycle meeting 1 is 96,87% (very good). Student’s activities in first cycle meeting 1 is 56,25%  (less), meeting 2 is 81,25%  (good),  the  second  cycle meeting 1 is 93,75% (very good).the average of classin first cycle is 70,67, meeting 2 is 80,38, and the second cycle is 90,24. Therefore, the scientifict method can increase the integrated thematic learning at elementary school. Keywords : Integrated Thematic, Scientific Approach.
