Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing and tracing the strategic roles implemented by Agricultural Extension officers in the development of agribusiness, which is expected to further increase village independence in building the economy through the agricultural sector, which in turn can further improve the welfare of farmers and their families. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with respondents being agricultural extension officers, Village Heads, farmer group administrators, and female farmers, who were determined by purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature studies. From the results of the study, several things were found, namely Agricultural products, especially paddy fields, are not optimal due to the unavailability of technical irrigation that is able to meet the water needs of farmers. In addition, the production produced by the community is still oriented towards household consumption. Agribusiness development needs to be directed towards market orientation and profit.

Abstract

The agricultural sector of Sinjai Regency shows significant vulnerability to climate change, especially the El Nino phenomenon. It was recorded that hundreds of hectares of agricultural land were damaged. The main objective of this research is to comprehensively identify and analyze the impact of El Niño on agricultural land damage in Sinjai Regency. In addition, this research aims to formulate policy recommendations and concrete actions that can be taken by the government and other stakeholders to reduce the negative impact of El Niño. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, documentation and field observations. The use of NVivo 12 Plus analysis tools is also maximized. These findings confirm that El Niño has caused significant damage to agricultural land in Sinjai Regency, with 13 hectares experiencing puso or total crop failure, as well as 244 hectares of light damage, 137 hectares of moderate damage, and 50 hectares of heavy damage. This damage has a direct impact on agricultural productivity and food security, threatening farmer incomes and local food supplies. To deal with this impact, the government has implemented adaptive policies such as mapping affected locations, providing clean water, distributing food aid, and supporting farmer groups. Going forward, the government needs to strengthen weather monitoring systems, develop water management infrastructure, improve training for farmers, and strengthen partnerships between various parties to reduce the impact of El Niño and repair land damage.

Abstract

Extreme poverty in Bengkalis Regency is one of the main challenges of regional development, especially in coastal and island areas. This article analyzes strategies to accelerate the elimination of extreme poverty by using a holistic approach of socio-economic programs and government intervention innovations. The study focuses on programs such as Gerakan Desa Mandiri and Direct Cash Assistance that are designed to improve the welfare of extreme poor households through entrepreneurship training, cash transfers, and basic infrastructure development. Using data from the 2023 Integrated Database Updating (PBDT) and 2024 BPS, multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to identify the determinants of program success. Results show an extreme poverty reduction of 7% between 2023 and 2024, with the highest achievements in Mandau (31%) and Rupat (23%) sub-districts. However, major challenges remain in remote areas such as Bengkalis sub-district. This article suggests intensification of community-based programs, improving access to employment, and cross-sector coordination to achieve the target of eliminating extreme poverty by 2025.

Abstract

Consumer protection in e-commerce is critical as the digital marketplace continues to expand rapidly in Indonesia. With the rise of online transactions, consumer rights are often threatened by fraudulent activities, unclear product descriptions, and inadequate dispute resolution mechanisms. This study aims to analyze the implementation of consumer protection policies in e-commerce transactions and assess their effectiveness. The research uses a normative juridical approach, focusing on legal frameworks such as the Consumer Protection Law No. 8 of 1999 and the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). The results indicate that while consumer protection laws are in place, enforcement remains weak, and many consumers are still unaware of their rights. Additionally, businesses often lack accountability in ensuring product quality and transparency. The study recommends strengthening the enforcement of consumer protection laws, improving public awareness, and enhancing the accountability of e-commerce platforms to ensure a safer digital marketplace for both consumers and businesses.
