Abstract

Character education that is being intensively carried out in Indonesia is felt still not maximal. This should be the main priority that must be completed by all components of education. The educational component requires a valid and relia- ble measuring tool to measure the success rate of character education. The most closely approximated measuring instrument is spiritual intelligence. This is be- cause the indicators and measurement instruments between character education with spiritual intelligence alike. Measuring the level of character education suc- cess can be done by comparing the level of spiritual intelligence of learners be- fore and after the character education. It is the result that becomes the judgment that the character education carried out has been successful, fixed or even failed.

Abstract

Education is a strategic way in relation to individual efforts to develop their po- tential. Learning strategies continue to be improved in order to achieve the goals of education itself. Holistic education is the focus of the study of activists and observers of education. The holistic education model emphasizes the importance of psychomotor behavior and overall activity. The development of cognitive abil- ities related to academic values is still considered important although it is not the sole main objective to be sharpened. The philosophy of Jiddu Krishnamurti that teaches humanism is also a supporter of holistic education.

Abstract

Factors influencing behavior change of Hindu adolescent in religious activity in Denpasar City are internal factor and external factor. Internal factors are the development of mind and biological development, while external factors are school environment and family environment. Both of these factors can affect the behavior of adolescents in religious activities in the city of Denpasar. The change is a change that occurs in the behavior of Hindu adolescents in running their religious activities in a better direction because most students still follow religious activities held in schools, families and communities.

Abstract

The concept of Dormitory Chess is the basis and foundation of everyone in living life in this world. This Dormitory Chess concept is a guide in taking life on each level in the Dormitory Chess teachings. Etymologically the word, Boarding Chess is derived from the Sanskrit language that is the word “chess” which means four and “dormitory” means place or field. So the boarding Chess is the four levels of place or condition of life that each person will pass according to their abilities. How conceptually someone understands the purpose of this Dormitory Chess teaching that should be passed well according to the level and age in the dormitory level that is being lived. Of course every level of Dormitory in Dormitory Chess teachings has a goal to be achieved. Do not let that goal be exchanged from each level of dormitory which is as harmonious as possible in accordance with this teaching. If this happens, of course this is a deviation from the teaching of boarding chess, because it is not appropriate from what is the goal with the reality that occurs in life.The deviations that occur to students that we see are, juvenile delinquency, brawls between students, dating especially junior and senior high school, pregnancy outside marriage, violence against children, a sense of honesty that is decreasing, drug abuse, free sex, degradation morals and other mischief committed by students. This is where a common understanding of both the students themselves, families, schools, governments, religious leaders and parties who handle this is needed. Thus it is expected that these deviations can be reduced, if possible there will be no more, especially among students in the present. If every goal of the life stages taught by the boarding chess concept is understood properly and correctly, automatically the deviation of the behavior will not or can be minimized.So that the writer can conclude that the concept of boarding chess concept which is a foundation for living life in this world must really be made the basis for behaving accordingly from the level of life that we experience today. Especially in the Brahmacari dormitory whose emphasis in understanding students must be really emphasized so that students know and understand the duties and obligations as a Brahmacari.

Abstract

Traditional Balinese literature is part of Balinese culture which is also a price- less ancestral heritage. In addition, traditional Balinese literature is one form that can be used as a medium in pouring ideas to convey the teachings or norms in the life of society. Literary work is one of the ancestral heritages of a society which is rich in educational values, ingenuity, and social criticism and contains noble virtues that deserve attention in an attempt to preserve and develop the cultural values of the nation, especially the language culture of Bali. A literary work must contain the values of life that apply to the society in which the literary work was created. Such values, for example, represent norms, traditions, rules and beliefs held in a society. These values are, among others, moral values, so- cial values; cultural values / traditions: religious values / religious, and so forth. Abstract

Juvenile delinquency occurs because of failure to undergo psychological development processes, both as a teenager and still in childhood. The childhood and teenage years are actually experienced so briefly, so sometimes between physical, psychological, and emotion does not develop simultaneously. Psycho- logically, juvenile delinquency is a manifestation of unresolved conflicts well in childhood as well as adolescent perpetrators. Teenagers sometimes experience psychological distress in their past which is the result of rough and unpleasant treatment of the environment. In addition, there is also psychological pressure on the condition of the environment, especially regarding the economy that makes him feel inferior. Susila education that takes place in schools is expected to be able to form the spiritual behavior of adolescents according to the teach- ings of Hinduism, as well as away from any behavior that leads to juvenile delin- quency.

Abstract

The current Indonesian national education still faces various problems. The education achievement is still below the expected target. The teaching and learning process at school has not been able to shape the graduates as whole persons who reflect the character and the culture of the nation. The education process still emphasizes andfocuses its outcome on the cognitive aspects. Meanwhile, the affective aspects of the learners which will become the strong basis to live in the community have not been developed optimally. Therefore, education on character and the culture of the nation must be developed at school. The school as the center of change must make serious efforts to provide education based on the character and the culture of the nation. The character and culture of the nation developed at school must be adjusted to the local, regional, and national character and culture. Hence, education on the character and culture of the nation should be developed based on the local wisdom.
