Abstract

In developing a user-centered software, there are various things that need to be considered, such as expectations for better development, as well as quite different stages of work. One method that can be used to develop software that is in accordance with the user’s expectation is User-Centered Design (UCD), this method is proven to have produced a software that is believed to have a good quality value. The Academic Potential Test Mobile Application is a mobile-based application that can be used as a simulation to assess and measure the value of a person's academic potential. This mobile application was developed specifically to be used as a supporter in the New Student Admission process at Politeknik Caltex Riau. This mobile application is developed using the user-centred design method, by using this method the application product is also expected to have a good value. User satisfaction is an absolute opinion given by application users shortly after they use the application, although it is of good value in terms of product quality, sometimes user satisfaction is neglected. It is necessary to keep measuring user satisfaction even though the product quality value has been declared good. Another study shows that there is a relationship between the value of product quality and the value of user satisfaction for desktop application. So, in this research we would like to prove the relationship between those two variables, in the development of mobile applications then it will become a reference for other developers in developing a mobile application with User-Centered Design method.

Abstract

: Crude Palm Oil's viscosity level is very influential in the distribution in palm oil mills. This research shows that the high temperature will cause the viscosity to decrease. The force given to Crude Palm Oil can also reduce its viscosity levels. This proves that Crude Palm Oil is a Non-Newtonian fluid. This test shows that Crude Palm Oil with a temperature below 60°C has a discharge that is still changing from the first minute to the third minute. Meanwhile, Crude Palm Oil with a temperature above 60°C has a discharge that does not change after the first minute. From this, it can be concluded that 60°C is the best temperature for palm oil mills in the distribution of Crude Palm Oil.

Abstract

Flood has always been an annual problem that hit most of the areas in Indonesia including Pekanbaru. According to the city's official website, there are 375 flood-prone points, and several roads have poor drainage systems. This is what triggers a large number of flood and damaged drainage reports by the public community per day. The management of the public's complaint data will need a significant amount of time and effort from the community and government staff. Additionally, errors and the risk of data loss in archiving public complaints reports are prone to occur because the flood complaint data is kept in hardcopy in the file cabinet. However, information regarding the details of the drainage system is still not fully available in the PUPR Office database. Hence, this research made a system with microservice architecture which is divided into 4 services: a backend service to handle user authentication, a backend service to manage public community’s complaint data, a backend service to provide drainage monitoring data, and a frontend admin service. This website application will be named DRAINIT. This web application will only have one user level, admin, and will be managed by the Pekanbaru PUPR service officer. According to the test that has been conducted, namely unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, this web application is thought to have successfully met the requirements requested by Pekanbaru's PUPR service which are to records public complaints reports, see GIS- based drainage network, and see drainage monitoring history. This study performed load testing for the performance test, and the results showed that the application could handle 19.3 requests per second.

Abstract

Floods and broken drainage are often experienced by the community, but only a few people report these cases by reporting directly to the local government which takes a long time because they must report the cases with official letter. Besides that, most people do not know where and how to report cases of flood and broken drainage. On the other hand, Pekanbaru Public Works Agency (PUPR) handles, and updates reports through internal WhatsApp group so that report updates are not stored in a structured way and public community cannot see the updates directly. Because of the problem above a system is needed to handle the problem, the system that is going to be created implemented extreme programming methodology and built with flutter for fastest development that covering both IOS and Android devices and expected to facilitate easy access and speeds up the process for creating reports from the public community and the PUPR officer to flood or broken drainage and could provide and record up-to-date data and status of the reports. Based on the results of testing, that is unit, integration and black box testing found that the functionality of the system was going well. Then, for usability testing with the SUS method, the results were 78. Based on the usability testing, it can be concluded that the system that has been created is categorize as good acceptable and it can help public community to simply create flood and broken drainage report also provide the up-to-date report of submitted report.

Abstract

Theft, burglary and intrusion are criminal acts that often occur in the environment when there are opportunity or negligence made by the owner and security officers. Many studies have been carried out to improve environmental security by applying cameras as a surveillance medium. However, the camera is still not optimal at detecting objects if the environment is in poor lighting conditions (dark). Therefore, in this study, a monitoring and object detection system was built by applying the Illumination Invariant model. Illumination Invariant model that is used to improve the appearance of object images from light and shadow reflections. In this study, the detection process and objects are carried out using human facial features captured by the camera. The camera used is a Logitec C270 Webcam HD 720p via the USB port on the Raspberry Pi. Raspberry Pi processes human face image data and sends the results of data processing to a MySQL database using the HTTP Protocol. The process of sending data is done with the concept of API (Application Programming Interface) using Python Flask. In this study, all tests were carried out on the system using black box testing techniques with the results of the functional requirements being successfully executed 100%. In this study, testing the object detection feature based on different lighting conditions. The test was carried out 15 times by comparing the original image and the results of the implementation of the Illumination Invariant model. Based on the test results by applying the illumination of the Invariant model, the quality of object detection accuracy is 86.7%.

Abstract

Concrete is a mixture of Portland cement or other hydraulic cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water with or without additives to form a solid mass. Cement concrete pavement is a pavement construction with aggregate as raw material and uses cement as a binding material, so it has a relatively high level of rigidity, especially when compared to asphalt pavement. The fine aggregate commonly used is natural fine aggregate. Due to the increasing use of fine aggregate in construction so as to obtain the fine aggregate by means of sand mining, ecological damage in some areas. Therefore, the use of natural fine aggregate can be replaced with machine crushed aggregate. Based on this, this study aims to determine the maximum compressive strength of concrete, maximum flexural strength of concrete blocks using a mixture of machined aggregate percentage. The research method was carried out with 15cm x 15cm x 60cm beams. Variation of the test specimen mixture is a mixture that meets the maximum combined gradation limit of 30mm. Flexural strength testing was carried out at the age of 56 days. The highest flexural strength test results are found in variation 2, which is 4.85 MPa.

Abstract

Peat soil is a soil element that is very susceptible to burning if it is dry and when burned peat will be synonymous with giving rise to dense smoke and giving rise to embers. Prevention has been carried out so far by building a monitoring tower to see the condition of a peatland from a certain height, but because this is done by humans, there will certainly be limitations in monitoring quickly and precisely. By utilizing the development of Internet of Things technology, a solution that can be done by building a system called Silahan Gambut (SILAGA), where this system has been tested on peatlands using the DB18S20 sensor calibrated with a DHT 22 sensor Using Internet of Things technology, it has been successfully monitored in real time the condition of a peatland that has the potential to burn. The results of the sensor data are managed using MongoDB noSQL so that the data obtained is well managed on peat soils at a certain time, condition and region.

Abstract

Electricity is energy that is needed in any field, both industry and ordinary people. To be able to produce good quality electrical energy, it is necessary to monitor and maintain electrical power equipment to prevent equipment damage that can interfere with the electrical energy distribution system to consumers. One of the disturbances that are often experienced is the Hotpoint at the terminal connection section between the conductor cable and the equipment at the substation. Hotpoint is an increase in the production of acoustic pulses (sound) and an increase in temperature that causes energy dissipation resulting in the heating of a localized area. This Hotpoint will cause damage to the equipment if it occurs for a long time. In this research, a Hotpoint monitoring system for 20 kV power cable termination based on the Internet of Things was built to monitor the temperature condition of the 20 kV power cable termination in real-time. This system uses the MLX90640 IR Thermal Camera sensor as the cable termination temperature gauge and the DHT22 temperature sensor to measure the 20 kV cubicle panel temperature. This temperature value will be compared to determine whether there is a Hotpoint at the termination of the 20 kV power cable. This system uses a MySQL database and HTTP protocol for communication between the Raspberry Pi4 and the website dashboard, then for notifications using the Telegram bot. The sensor accuracy test is carried out by comparing the temperature value between the DHT22 sensor and the Hygrometer with an average measurement value difference of -1.7%, while the MLX90640 and Fluke Ir 568 sensor accuracy tests have an average measurement value difference of -1.13%°C. Based on the sensor accuracy testing, it can be concluded that all sensors have a fairly good performance in measuring the required temperature parameters.
