Abstract

Kalosara is a traditional symbol that plays an important role in the lives of the Tolaki people. More than just a cultural heritage, Kalosara is a guideline for resolving conflicts, instilling character values, and forming a social order. Amid the rapid flow of modernization, this tradition remains a reference in maintaining social harmony and strengthening the collective identity of the Tolaki people. This study aims to understand how Kalosara functions in three main aspects, namely as a means of conflict resolution, a means of character education, and an element that forms the social structure of society. With this approach, this study wants to see how Kalosara remains relevant and upheld in everyday life. This research uses a library method. The library method as a writing mechanism relies on the enrichment of literature data sourced from: books, journals, and library documents that discuss Kalosara. The data collected is grouped thematically to find aspects of symbols of conflict resolution, character education, and social construction behind the meaning of the Kalosara tradition. The research findings indicate that Kalosara is an effective medium for conflict resolution for the Tolaki people. In addition, the values ​​contained in this tradition become a means of character education that aligns with the attitude of tolerance, togetherness, and respect for social norms. Kalosara also plays a role as a social glue that strengthens the cultural identity of the Tolaki community. The literature search provides a picture that the Kalosara tradition contains noble values ​​that can continue to be transmitted to future generations.

Abstract

Misyar marriage is a controversial phenomenon among contemporary ulama due to its implications for women's rights and welfare. In this practice, women may relinquish their rights, such as financial support and housing, raising questions about the validity and relevance of misyar marriage within Islamic law. This study aims to analyze the debate among contemporary ulama regarding misyar marriage, focusing on their stance and the fatwas issued based on the maqasid al-syariah perspective. This phenomenon has caused social unrest, particularly in Indonesia, where the practice of misyar marriage has sparked significant discussions among Islamic scholars.The primary point of contention revolves around the maqasid al-syariah principles in misyar marriage, which serve as the main basis for differing scholarly opinions on its legitimacy and relevance in the Islamic legal framework. This study seeks to address two key questions: (1) What is the foundation of contemporary ulama's stance on misyar marriage? (2) How do contemporary ulama's fatwas on misyar marriage align with maqasid al-syariah? Using a qualitative approach, this research employs literature-based analysis, including content and critical analysis of fatwas concerning maqasid al-syariah.The findings indicate two main groups among contemporary ulama: one that permits misyar marriage, represented by Yusuf al-Qardhawi and Wahbah Zuhaili, and another that prohibits it, including 'Abd al-'Aziz bin al-Baz and 'Umar Sulaiman al-Asqar. The fatwas from both perspectives evaluate misyar marriage through the lens of maqasid al-syariah, weighing the balance between its benefits and drawbacks. The implications of this research are highly significant in understanding and applying Islamic law in a way that aligns with contemporary social developments.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited research on Islamic law related to consumptive behavior in online shopping. This study aims to analyze the consumptive behavior of students in online shopping activities in terms of the principles of Islamic law. This research adopts a normative-empirical approach through semi-structured interviews with students of IAIN Palangka Raya with a sample of 5 people randomly selected, as well as adopting literature studies from relevant journals published in 2023-2025. Data were collected using interview instruments and literature data were obtained through publish or perish and the data used were journals related to consumptive attitudes in online shopping related to Islamic law. The findings reveal that online shopping encourages consumptive behavior, but can be controlled through self-efficacy, understanding of Islamic law, and good financial literacy. The study concluded that the level of self-efficacy and understanding of Islamic economic values is very influential in suppressing excessive consumptive behavior. Students who have good self-control and sharia insight tend to shop wisely and responsibly. Thus, it is necessary to strengthen financial literacy and understanding of Islamic law so that people, especially students, can utilize online shopping in a balanced manner and in accordance with religious values. Opportunities that can be taken by future researchers can continue to examine the consumptive behavior of students in the long term, such as what the impact is before and after being given Islamic-based financial literacy education.

Abstract

The phenomenon of code mixing in the use of Indonesian, especially in works of art such as song lyrics, is one of the factors that cause language shift in the era of globalization. This study aims to analyze the form of outward code mixing in the lyrics of the song “Everybody Knew” by Citra Scholastika. The research used descriptive qualitative method with the object of research in the form of song lyrics “Everybody Knew” published through YouTube platform. The data collection technique was carried out through the method of listening and recording, with the steps of listening to the song thoroughly, recording the parts of the lyrics that contain code mixes, and analyzing the types of code mixes that appear. Data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing models. The results showed that the song “Everybody Knew” consists of 30 stanzas with 56 lyrics, and there are seven stanzas that contain code mix from Indonesian to English. There are four forms of code-mixing found, which are then repeated four times throughout the lyrics of the song. In conclusion, the code mix in the song “Everybody Knew” shows a tendency to use foreign languages as part of the musician's artistic expression style, as well as reflecting the influence of global culture in everyday language use.

Abstract

The phenomenon of low procedural text writing skills among students indicates an urgent need for a learning approach that can accommodate the diverse learning needs of students. This study aims to improve the ability to write procedural texts through differentiated learning for seventh-grade students of UPTD SMPN 3 Kecamatan Harau. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study are 26 students from class VII.1. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, performance tests on writing, and documentation. The research instruments included observation sheets for teacher and student activities, interview guidelines, and a rubric for assessing procedural text writing. Data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate an improvement in students' procedural text writing skills, both in terms of structure, content, and language, after the implementation of differentiated learning. This is evident from the increase in the average scores of student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II, as well as the increased active involvement of students in the learning process. The conclusion of this study is that differentiated learning is effective in improving students' procedural text writing skills, as it can optimally accommodate students' interests, needs, and learning profiles.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the inauguration of Bank Emas (Gold Bank), which has become a topic of discussion among the public and raises regulatory and Sharia challenges that require analysis. The objective of this study is to discuss the Implementation of Bank Emas in Indonesia: An Analysis of Positive Law and Sharia Review (Case Study of Bank Syariah Indonesia). This research examines the legal basis, including the P2SK Law and relevant OJK Regulations, and evaluates the products and services of Bank Emas BSI based on the DSN-MUI fatwa and the principles of Islamic muamalah. The research method employed is a literature study and qualitative analysis of statutory regulations, religious edicts (fatwa), and related secondary data, using a normative juridical approach. The research findings indicate that: 1) From a positive law perspective, specific regulations detailing the operations of Bank Emas in Indonesia are stipulated in OJK Regulation Number 17 of 2024, as a derivative of the P2SK Law. 2) From a Sharia perspective, the concept of Bank Emas is considered in line with the principles of fiqh muamalah, provided that it adheres to valid contract stipulations, avoids usury (riba), and maintains fairness in transactions. The case study at BSI shows the potential for implementing the gold bank concept through its existing products, including Digital Gold Savings, Gold Installments, Digital Gold Trading, Gold Pawn, and Gold ATMs, which facilitate public access to gold investment and transactions. These products are in accordance with the positive legal framework, although they may not yet fully comply with Islamic Sharia principles. This research recommends the necessity of synergy between regulatory authorities, fatwa institutions, and Islamic banking to formulate a legal framework and business model for Bank Emas that aligns with both positive law and Sharia principles.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the theological foundations of religious moderation through a Sufi exegetical approach and examine its relevance to the concept of religious moderation as formulated by Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs. The study analyzes three major works of Qur’anic exegesis: Ruh al-Ma‘ani fi Tafsir al-Qur’an al-‘Azim wa al-Sab‘i al-Matsani by Shihab al-Din al-Sayyid Mahmud al-Alusi (1217–1270 H), Lata’if al-Isharat by ‘Abd al-Karim ibn Hawazin al-Qushayri (d. 465 H), and Tafsir al-Azhar by Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (Hamka, 1908–1981). The analysis focuses on three verses that reflect core values of moderation: QS. Al-Baqarah [2]:143, QS. Yunus [10]:99, and QS. Al-Nahl [16]:125. This research employs a qualitative method using a descriptive-analytical approach within the framework of library research. The findings indicate that all three exegetical interpretations—classical and modern—provide a robust theological basis for promoting religious moderation. They unanimously reject extremism and violence in the name of religion, emphasize balance in thought and practice, and uphold freedom of belief and the right to choose one’s faith. Furthermore, the exegetes advocate for a wise, educational, and culturally accommodating approach to religious propagation. These interpretations align closely with the framework of religious moderation proposed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which promotes peaceful religiosity, Islam as a mercy to all creation (rahmatan lil ‘alamin), and a strong commitment to the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and Pancasila as national consensus.

Abstract

The implementation of Maqasid Shariah in fiqh instruction at SMA N 1 Purwokerto remains limited, even though focusing on the objectives of Islamic law has the potential to strengthen students’ character and contextual understanding of Islamic values. This study aims to explore the extent to which the concept of Maqasid Shariah is integrated into the fiqh learning process, using a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach with a sample of six teachers and eight students deemed representative. Data were collected through literature review and semi-structured interviews, and analyzed using thematic analysis to uncover patterns of implementation, challenges, and educational outcomes. The findings show that fiqh teachers have implemented the values of maqasid al-dharuriyyah (essential benefits), al-hajiyyah (needs), and al-tahsiniyyah (enhancements) through the development of case discussion materials, social service assignments, and reflective applications of Islamic law in daily life. These efforts have been shown to enhance students’ tolerance, sense of responsibility, and social awareness, as well as deepen their critical understanding of fiqh. The theoretical implications of this study enrich the literature on Maqasid Shariah-based fiqh pedagogy and emphasize the importance of goal-oriented Islamic legal education in character development. Practically, the study recommends revising the Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam or PAI) curriculum to include Maqasid Shariah modules, training teachers in contextual teaching methods, and developing case-based instructional materials aligned with maqasid. These findings open avenues for further research on the effectiveness and adoption of Maqasid Shariah at various levels and contexts of Islamic education.

Abstract

Geopark tourism areas possess significant natural potential while also presenting considerable risks, such as natural disasters and visitor accidents, which demand optimal safety and security systems from management authorities. This study aims to analyze the responsibility of PT Geopark Sukabumi in ensuring the safety and security of the tourist areas it manages. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and analysis of regulatory and policy documents. The findings reveal the absence of a systematic risk management system, limited transparency in incident reporting, and weak oversight from local government authorities, which collectively increase the likelihood of serious incidents, legal risks, and damage to the geopark’s image as a sustainable tourism destination. These results indicate that current safety management practices in the area do not meet adequate standards. The study concludes that the management must implement a standardized safety management system, enhance human resource capacity, strengthen transparency in reporting, and encourage active involvement of local governments in supervision. The implications of this research are critical for formulating tourism policies focused on safety and consumer protection, particularly in conservation-based tourist areas prone to natural hazards.

Abstract

Legal awareness in traffic reflects the extent to which individuals understand, accept, and comply with legal regulations in daily life. Among students, deviant behavior still occurs, indicating the need to strengthen legal understanding. This study aims to analyze students' traffic law awareness from the perspective of civic competence at SMA Negeri 3 Bungo, which includes the dimensions of civic knowledge, civic skills, and civic disposition. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling in selecting informants, consisting of seven Grade X and XI students as primary informants, one Pancasila Education teacher as a key informant, and one vice principal for curriculum as an additional informant. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that students’ civic knowledge is relatively good in understanding basic rules, but they lack deep comprehension of formal legal provisions such as traffic laws. In terms of civic skills, students actively participate in awareness activities but remain passive in responding to violations in their surroundings. Meanwhile, their civic disposition still relies on external supervision and has not developed into intrinsic awareness. In conclusion, students' underdeveloped civic competence contributes to their low traffic law awareness. The theoretical implication reinforces the concept that legal awareness is not solely dependent on knowledge but also on citizenship skills and attitudes. The practical implication encourages schools to strengthen the comprehensive teaching of Pancasila Education to foster more effective and sustainable legal awareness.
