Abstract

The handling of goods is an important part of warehouse operations because each activity is interconnected in supporting the movement of goods from receiving to delivery to customers. This study aims to analyze the goods handling process, identify operational barriers, and analyze the factors causing these barriers and their impacts on the smoothness of warehouse operations at PT MS. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving parties directly engaged in warehouse operations. Data analysis was conducted by identifying operational barriers, waste based on the Lean Warehousing concept, and the 5 Why analysis to identify the root causes of operational barriers. The results showed that the goods handling process consists of five main stages: receiving, storage, converting, picking, and shipping, which are interconnected. The most dominant barrier was found in the converting area, particularly in the slitting and sheeting processes, where work queues occurred when the workload increased. This condition indicated a bottleneck caused by an imbalance between the workload and available process capacity. The study also identified waste in the forms of waiting and unnecessary movement, as well as delays in data updating that resulted in manual checking. These barriers increased waiting time, delayed picking and shipping activities, and reduced the smoothness of goods flow. The findings imply the need to improve storage layout, converting capacity management, data updating accuracy, and coordination among related departments to improve warehouse operational effectiveness.

Abstract

The implementation of Warehouse Management System (WMS) has become an important part of modern warehouse operations because it supports the management of information and material flows more systematically. However, the success of WMS implementation is not solely determined by technological sophistication, but also by employee acceptance and adaptation to the system. This study aims to explore employees’ experiences and perceptions regarding the implementation of WMS in warehouse operations at PT YCH Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving seven informants consisting of a warehouse supervisor, warehouse administrators, warehouse operators, and logistics staff. The findings indicate that WMS implementation has transformed employees’ work experiences, particularly in terms of process speed, work certainty, data accuracy, and reduced human error. Employees also perceived operational efficiency through reduced cognitive workload, increased confidence in system data, and better connectivity between work processes. However, the implementation still faces technical barriers, limited understanding of system functions, and psychological challenges during adaptation. The study indicates that successful WMS implementation depends not only on technological capabilities but also on human resource readiness, adequate training, management support, and organizational adaptation. These findings provide insight into WMS implementation from the perspective of employees who interact directly with the system in daily warehouse operations.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of culture-based branding on ethnic culinary products regarding consumer purchase intention, specifically among the Generation Z segment in Labuhanbatu Regency. A quantitative approach was employed, with a population consisting of consumers of ethnic culinary MSMEs in Labuhanbatu the exact size of which is unknown. Purposive sampling was used, and the sample size was determined using Cochran's formula, resulting in 96 respondents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS software. The results indicate that cultural visual identity, cultural authenticity, and cultural storytelling each exert a positive and significant influence on consumer purchase intention. Conversely, the cultural value variable did not show a significant influence on consumer purchase intention in Labuhanbatu. Nevertheless, the four variables cultural visual identity, cultural value, cultural authenticity, and cultural storytelling were proven to simultaneously exert a positive and significant influence on consumer purchase intention. These findings suggest that implementing culture-based branding can be a relevant strategy for ethnic culinary MSMEs. Therefore, MSME operators in Labuhanbatu need to strengthen cultural elements in their marketing strategies, build emotional connections with consumers, and maintain product quality consistency to boost consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of product quality and price on purchasing decisions for Dendeng DW products. This research employed a quantitative approach with an associative method. The research population consisted of consumers who knew or had purchased Dendeng DW products. The sample consisted of 100 respondents selected through questionnaire distribution using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The data analysis included validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, multicollinearity testing, heteroscedasticity testing, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, model feasibility testing, and partial testing. The results showed that product quality had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, as indicated by a t-value of 4.444 with a significance level of <0.001. Price also showed a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions based on the test results obtained. Furthermore, the model feasibility test showed that the regression model was feasible, with an F-value of 11.950 and a significance level of <0.001. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.681 indicates that product quality and price explained 68.1% of the variation in purchasing decisions, while the remaining 31.9% was explained by other factors not examined in this study. Therefore, product quality and price are important factors that should be considered in improving consumers' purchasing decisions for Dendeng DW products.
