Abstract

Complying with local content regulations in the upstream oil and gas industry presents a significant challenge. These regulations aim to enhance local capability, and the industry's yearly transaction value greatly impacts the local industry, necessitating the use of local products. However, despite requiring high technology, this industry mostly relies on imported products. To address this challenge, our research employs a systematic approach that combines scenario planning with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis. Our primary goal is to develop a comprehensive framework that empowers organizations to optimize their business strategies within the context of localization projects. By integrating scenario planning, which allows for the exploration of diverse future scenarios, with AHP analysis, which offers a structured analytical foundation for evaluating and selecting strategies, our research equips decision-makers with a powerful toolset. Through extensive case studies and meticulous analysis, our research sheds light on the nuanced decision-making processes and strategic adaptations that can be achieved through the synergy of scenario planning and AHP analysis in the domain of localization projects. Our findings and insights provide practical guidance to decision-makers grappling with the complexities of local content compliance and the long-term sustainability of business strategies.

Abstract

The impact of flexible work arrangements (FWA) on employee performance remains inconclusive due to the tendency of prior research to analyze the phenomenon from a single perspective, either that of the employee or the organization. This study aims to address this gap by examining the influence of two forms of FWA—flexibility as a contribution and flexibility as an inducement—on employee performance, while also investigating the moderating role of e-work self-efficacy. Guided by social exchange theory and the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, an online survey was conducted using a cross-sectional design, collecting 545 valid responses from employees in the ICT-based industry. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that flexibility as a contribution negatively impacts employee performance, whereas flexibility as an inducement has a positive effect. The moderation analysis further shows that e-work self-efficacy significantly moderates the relationship between flexibility as a contribution and both task and contextual performance but not adaptive performance. Similarly, e-work self-efficacy significantly moderates the relationship between flexibility as an inducement and task performance but not contextual or adaptive performance. This study concludes that the effects of FWA on employee performance are nuanced and depend on the form of flexibility offered and the level of employees’ e-work self-efficacy. These findings provide actionable insights for organizations to optimize FWA policies to enhance employee performance.

Abstract

Regarding the number of trains that have accidents, one of them is due to damaged rails among 4 other causes, so that it has an impact on the delay and safety of the train journey itself. The purpose of this study is as an input related to the maintenance management system, especially in terms of handling problems of damage to railway infrastructure, in this case rail lines that require maintenance, especially regarding human resources who handle them, so that appropriate solutions can be obtained in short-term or long-term solutions for the comfort and safety of train travel. This study uses a mix method, and when identification is carried out, problems are found on the railway, namely the number of damages where after analysis, the results are a number of maintenance equipment that is still lacking, as well as the number of logistics or spare parts. And after being evaluated, it was found that some damage to the components of the Wonokromo – Sidoarjo cross rail road was caused by the cross load received by the cross of 11,543,796 tons/year, so that when it is associated with PM 60 of 2012 concerning Technical Requirements for Railway Lines, the Wonokromo-Sidoarjo cross should no longer be included in road class III but class II,  so that maintenance management is needed in the maintenance of railway infrastructure which should be further improved, especially in terms of fulfilling certified human resources.

Abstract

Cyberwarfare has become one of the most prominent aspects of global geopolitical competition, introducing a new dimension of conflict involving states and non-state actors. Although research on the role of states in cyber warfare has been amplacious, research on the role of non-state actors is still limited. This study aims to analyze the role and impact of non-state actors in global cyber warfare. In cyber warfare, non-state actors can exploit the vulnerabilities of security systems to achieve their political or ideological goals, changing geopolitical dynamics in unexpected ways. Case studies raised in this study include cyber attacks by Anonymous groups against governments and companies, cyber acts of terrorism by ISIS, manipulation of information by extremist groups to achieve their political goals, and the use of digital propaganda in regional conflicts. By paying attention to the concept of force and security in the perspective of realism, this research is expected to provide a better understanding of how non-state actors influence global geopolitical dynamics through cyber warfare. The implication of this research is the importance of strengthening national cyber defense and international cooperation in the face of threats presented by non-state actors in the cyber domain.

Abstract

The phenomenon of rising land prices around the government office area in Pekanbaru City has become a significant concern due to its consistent increase since the development of these offices. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing these escalating land prices, providing insights into the underlying determinants. Employing the hedonic pricing method, the study examines how internal and external characteristics of land contribute to its value. The findings reveal that several factors significantly affect land prices, including proximity to the main road, distance to the city center, and accessibility to healthcare facilities. Additionally, community occupational characteristics, such as private employees, entrepreneurs, traders, and civil servants, also play a crucial role in shaping land prices. These results highlight the interplay between accessibility, occupational factors, and infrastructure development in determining land value. The study concludes that understanding these factors is essential for policymakers and urban planners to manage land use and development effectively, ensuring sustainable urban growth and equitable access to land resources.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Corporate Tax Strategies (CTSs) on consumer reactions, with Consumer Perceived Ethicality (CPE) acting as a mediating variable. Previous research on CTSs has largely focused on macro-level analyses, exploring whether aggressive tax minimization strategies lead to negative stakeholder reactions that affect company performance. However, findings on the effect of CTSs on company value remain inconclusive, with some studies reporting a negative influence and others finding no significant relationship. This research employs a quantitative approach using an experimental method to address this gap by focusing on consumer-level reactions. The methodology involves simulating scenarios to measure consumer responses to perceived ethicality in corporate tax practices. The results indicate that CTSs significantly influence consumer reactions, with CPE playing a critical mediating role. Specifically, when corporations engage in perceived unethical tax strategies, consumer trust and loyalty decline, reinforcing the importance of ethical considerations in corporate decision-making. The study concludes that incorporating ethical dimensions into tax strategies can mitigate negative consumer reactions and enhance corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These findings contribute to the literature on CSR and consumer behavior, offering practical insights for corporations aiming to align tax practices with ethical standards to foster positive consumer perceptions.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Korean Wave, Hedonic Lifestyle, and Brand Image on Purchase Decisions of Samsung products in DKI Jakarta, with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative approach and causal associative research, data were collected from 108 Samsung product consumers in DKI Jakarta. The findings reveal that the Korean Wave and Hedonic Lifestyle do not have a significant impact on Purchase Decisions, while Brand Image significantly influences consumers’ purchasing behavior. Additionally, CRM does not strengthen the impact of the Korean Wave or Hedonic Lifestyle on Purchase Decisions, indicating that CRM strategies implemented by Samsung have not effectively leveraged cultural or lifestyle influences. The study also finds that CRM only has a weak and insignificant moderating effect on the relationship between Brand Image and Purchase Decisions, suggesting that rational factors such as product quality and pricing remain the primary determinants of consumer behavior. These results provide valuable insights for marketers on the effectiveness of cultural trends, lifestyle influences, and CRM strategies in shaping consumer purchase decisions.
