Abstract

Transformational leadership plays a strategic role in enhancing organizational effectiveness through a leader's ability to inspire, motivate, and foster employee innovation. This leadership style is highly relevant for implementation in the BPS-Statistics Indonesia (BPS), a government institution oriented toward public service. This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership on employee performance with work engagement and job satisfaction as moderating variables. It adopts a sustainable transformation approach, which is rarely addressed in previous studies that mainly focus on the direct impact of leadership on performance or employee motivation. In contrast to earlier research largely conducted in the private sector, this study offers specific contributions on the application of transformational leadership within governmental bureaucracy. Based on responses from 268 employees of BPS in West Papua Province and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the findings reveal that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, work engagement was found to weaken this influence, while job satisfaction strengthens the relationship between transformational leadership and performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the preferences of Social Counselors from the perspectives of potential, motivation, competence, and job satisfaction after they have assumed the Functional Position of Social Extension Officer at the Department of Social Affairs, Community Empowerment, and Village Administration of Jepara Regency. Job preferences often change after an individual assumes a particular position. Preferences may shift over time as the role is carried out, with the misalignment between initial expectations and the realities of the position underlying an individual’s tendency to choose, remain in, or even leave the position as a form of career preference. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using the fishbone diagram to identify the root causes of changes in job preferences. The findings indicate that preferences for the functional position of Social Extension Officer, viewed from the perspectives of potential, motivation, competence, and job satisfaction, reflect an individual’s inclination to choose and remain in the position despite facing significant challenges. The study provides three improvement recommendations: strengthening competencies through independent and collaborative training, developing a more comprehensive evaluation system, and conducting internal advocacy for the provision of budgets and facilities to support extension activities.

Abstract

Driver loyalty, as a crucial stakeholder component in the ride-hailing industry, plays a vital role in ensuring business continuity. This study aims to examine the effect of driver satisfaction on loyalty, as well as the influence of financial compensation and e-Servqual on driver satisfaction. The research adopts a positivist paradigm and employs a hypothetical-deductive approach. A quantitative method was applied through a single cross-sectional survey involving 178 respondents, selected using non-probability and purposive sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that both e-Servqual and financial compensation have a significant positive effect on driver satisfaction. Additionally, satisfaction significantly influences driver loyalty. This study contributes to addressing the research gap concerning driver loyalty, which remains underexplored within the context of Indonesia’s ride-hailing industry.

Abstract

Typhoid fever is a systemic infection caused by Salmonella enterica serovars Typhi and Paratyphi. This disease is transmitted through contaminated food or water and is endemic in many developing countries, including Indonesia. Timely and accurate diagnosis of typhoid fever is crucial for its management. Serological tests, such as the Widal test, Typhidot, and Tubex-TF, have become the primary methods for diagnosing typhoid fever. Each test has advantages and disadvantages, both in terms of sensitivity, specificity, and ease of use. The Widal test, although widely used, often cross-reacts with other bacterial infections and has varying degrees of sensitivity. Typhidot offers faster detection with high accuracy in the early stages of infection, but is still susceptible to cross-reactions. Meanwhile, Tubex-TF uses a semi-quantitative method that can provide results quickly, although interpretation of results can vary depending on the user's skills. Each of these serological testing methods should be selected based on clinical factors, laboratory facilities, and resource availability. This study aims to compare the three serological tests in the context of typhoid fever diagnosis in developing countries.

Abstract

Pollution and climate change have become urgent global challenges, with the Special Capital Region of Jakarta identified as one of the most affected areas. While many citizens have adapted to these environmental pressures, blue-collar workers remain relatively overlooked in studies of ecological awareness and pro-environmental behavior. This research addresses this gap by examining how value orientations influence ecological worldviews and subsequent behavioral outcomes. The objective of the study is to analyze the relationships within the Value-Belief-Norms (VBN) framework, specifically investigating how biospheric, altruistic, and egoistic values influence the New Ecological Worldview (NEP), awareness of consequences, ascription of responsibility, personal norms, consumer willingness, and ultimately environmental citizenship behavior. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through convenience sampling from 69 blue-collar workers in Jakarta. The analysis employed Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Results demonstrate that NEP positively influences awareness of consequences, which in turn affects ascription of responsibility, leading to stronger personal norms. Personal norms significantly shape consumer willingness, which further enhances environmental citizenship. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening ecological values and personal responsibility among blue-collar workers as a pathway to foster sustainable behavior and active citizenship in urban environments.

Abstract

The process of product returns from suppliers is very urgent to reduce large company losses due to products returned from suppliers experiencing many problems. This study aims to measure the supply chain performance in each backflow supply chain of telecommunication industry products in Indonesia. Analysis was conducted using the SCOR model and determination of value weighting using AHP. The results of the analysis with 10 indicators for the delivery and return process show that the total value of PT. XYZ's company performance is still far from the target. This indicator must be corrected because there is a need for an increase in company performance, namely the Delivery and Return indicators, one of which occurs in returns when the driver brings damaged goods taken from the supplier and repackages, or commonly called repackaging, the damaged product in the PT. XYZ warehouse. There is a shortage[A1] [A2] or lagging of some of these products. The results of the analysis also show that PT. XYZ has the lowest performance value on both criteria, namely delivery and return, where each of these values can be categorized as "poor" or can also be called bad. With this finding, what must be done to improve performance is the addition of Quality Control management so that the product you want to return or return for the repair process can be managed such that there is no shortage of product returns, does not take a long time, and does not cost much more money during the delivery process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality, product design, and promotion on consumer purchasing decisions for pet furniture in Jakarta. The background of this research is driven by the increasing trend of pet humanization, where pets are no longer considered mere companions but are treated as family members, leading to higher demand for premium and aesthetically pleasing products. The research employs a quantitative causal design with data collected through online and offline questionnaires distributed to pet owners who have purchased furniture or accessories for their pets. Purposive sampling was used to ensure the selection of respondents with relevant experience, resulting in 220 valid responses. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS Statistics 27. The findings reveal that product quality, product design, and promotion each have a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions. Product quality emerged as the most dominant factor, followed by product design and promotion. These results highlight the importance of providing durable, safe, and premium-quality furniture while integrating innovative design that aligns with modern interior trends and effective promotional strategies, particularly through digital platforms. The implications of this study suggest that businesses in the pet furniture industry should focus on improving product standards, developing designs that combine functionality with aesthetics, and optimizing promotional efforts to meet consumer expectations and enhance competitiveness in the growing Indonesian pet market.

Abstract

Home security and gas leak risks are critical issues requiring effective solutions. This study designs a gas leakage monitoring and door access control system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using ESP8266, MQ-2 sensor, RFID sensor, and the Blynk application. The system detects gas levels in real-time, triggers a buzzer alert, and automatically shuts off the gas valve when thresholds are exceeded. For access control, RFID authentication is implemented to allow only registered cards. Sytem status and alerts are displayed through the Blynk app, enabling remote monitoring. Testing results show the system performs reliably and responds well to both emergency gas leaks and access authorization. This integration offers a pratical and costs-effective solution for enhancing home security and comfort.
