Abstract

Generation Y has the highest rate of Covid-19 contaminated cases. This is due to frequent movements and activities outside the home. This study was intended to investigate the impact of individual characteristics, knowledge, and attitudes on behaviour to prevent infection with Covid-19 in Ponorogo. The sample in this study amounted to 100 people with an age range of 20-35 years, consisting of 16 people and 84 women. The sampling technique used is voluntary sampling. The questionnaire was made in a form, and the link was distributed online. Data analysis used descriptive tests and SEM-PLS. The results of the SEM-PLS show that there is a significant effect of gender on knowledge and behaviour in preventing infection with Covid-19, as well as attitudes towards behaviour in preventing infection with Covid-19. The results show no significant differences in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours to prevent infection with Covid-19 in urban and rural individuals. Individual women have better knowledge and behaviour to prevent infection with Covid-19 than men, and good behaviour will increase behaviour to prevent infection with Covid-19. Socialization and behaviour to prevent infection with Covid-19 must be increased, especially for men.

Abstract

The strength of character can be manifested through the interactions of parents, especially fathers, in the parenting process. This study aimed to analyze the influence of student characteristics, family characteristics, and the role of fathers' parenting on character strength. This study used an explanatory design involving 289 first-year students living with complete parents. Sampling was taken by voluntary sampling. Data were obtained by self-reporting through online questionnaires and analyzed by multiple linear regression using SPSS. The findings show that there are nine indicators of paternal parenting such as positive involvement, positive emotional response, negative involvement, moral roles, gender roles, provider roles, androgynous roles, father's presence, and father's responsibility. In addition, there are three indicators of the strength of characters, such as moral knowledge, moral feelings, and moral action, which contain six virtues in the form of wisdom, justice, humanity, determination, self-control, and spirituality. The study's results prove that the role of a father's parenting significantly positively affects character strength. Overall, the strength of student character cannot be separated from the role of family care, especially for fathers.

Abstract

Consumer education interventions through formal education can increase knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour to become smart consumers who can enforce their rights, carry out their obligations, and protect themselves from harmful goods or services. This study aims to analyze differences in awareness of consumer education materials, sources of information, attitudes, and behaviour as savvy consumers in high school students in rural and urban Bogor and the factors that influence smart consumer behaviour. This study used a cross-sectional study design and involved two senior high schools located in the rural and urban areas of Bogor. The location selection was performed purposively, considering that the school implemented the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) and used the Electronic School Book (BSE). The sampling technique used random cluster sampling with a sample size of 129 high school students, 68 students in rural areas and 61 students in urban areas. The results showed significant differences in the material awareness of consumer rights variables and the three attitude dimensions. On the contrary, there was no difference in material awareness of consumer obligations, objective knowledge of rights and obligations and significant smart consumer behaviour on smart consumer behaviour in both regions. Students' age, objective knowledge about consumer obligations, and attitudes (affective and conative dimensions) significantly positively affect smart consumer behaviour in high school students.

Abstract

Society’s attitudes towards LGBT can be understood through college students’ viewpoints as the university’s environment can act as a microcosm of a larger community. Their voices can act as a representation of the youth generation and fellow citizens’ tolerance. This study aims to analyze the influences of religiosity and family gender roles socialization on students’ attitudes toward LGBT. Primary data used in this study were collected through an online questionnaire filled by 60 respondents, divided into male and female, who were selected by multistage random sampling technique involving all IPB’s undergraduate programs. This study found a significant difference between male and female students’ rejection of lesbians, with female students having higher rejection than male students. Students' religiosity and family gender roles socialization are in the medium category. Sex positively correlated to attitudes toward lesbians, while the mother's Occupation positively correlated to family gender roles, socialization, and religiosity was found to positively correlate with attitudes toward lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender. Sex, explicitly being female, positively influences attitudes toward lesbians. In contrast, religiosity positively influences attitudes toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, which means female students have a higher rejection of lesbians. The greater religiosity will result in increased rejection of LGBT.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has various impacts on life, one of which causes stress in adolescents. This study aims to analyze the influence of family climate and adolescent perceptions of stress levels during the pandemic. This study used a cross-sectional study design. The sampling in this study used a non-probability sampling method with a voluntary sampling technique through the distribution of bold questionnaires. The research sample was 113 junior high and high school students aged 13-18 in the Greater Jakarta area (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi). Based on the study results, the category of almost all teenagers has a family climate in the medium. Almost approaching adolescents, adolescents' perceptions and stress levels during the pandemic are included in the low category. There was no significant difference between adolescents' perceptions before and during the pandemic, while adolescents' stress level was significantly higher than before the pandemic. The study's results showed that family climate was negatively related to adolescent stress levels during the pandemic. On the other hand, adolescent perceptions during the pandemic were significantly positively related to the stress level of adolescents during the pandemic. Factors that significantly negatively affect adolescent stress levels during the pandemic are family size and family climate (on the dimensions of relationships in the family and family violence). Adolescent perceptions during the pandemic have a positive effect on adolescent stress levels during the pandemic.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, orders to work and study from home became a problem for families in Indonesia. Marital adjustment and gender role partnerships in the household must be well established to create marital satisfaction so that there is no conflict in the family. This study analyzes the factors influencing marital satisfaction in intact families during the Covid-19 pandemic. Respondents in this study are wives from intact families who have children and are domiciled in the city of Bogor. The sampling technique used non-probability purposive sampling with several samples of as many as 128 people. The data was processed using descriptive and inferential tests and multiple linear regression using SPSS 25 and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 3.0. The correlation test results showed a positive correlation between marital adjustment, gender role partnerships, and marital satisfaction. The results of the linear regression test showed that the husband's income had a significant positive effect on marital satisfaction. Correlation tests, linear regression test results, and SEM showed that marital adjustment and gender role partnerships significantly positively affected marital satisfaction. There is an indirect effect between marital adjustment and marital satisfaction with gender role partnership mediators.

Abstract

The misalignment of gender roles can affect the quality of marriage because it causes conditions of injustice, and one of the parties will be harmed. This study aims to determine the effect of gender roles in financial management and purchasing decisions on the quality of family marriages during the Covid-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study design was used in the study. The method used is self-management with an online questionnaire. The study was conducted in DKI Jakarta, which was selected purposively. The voluntary sampling technique was used to obtain 106 working wives who have children and are domiciled in DKI Jakarta. The collected data were processed using Microsoft Office Excel software, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 25.0 for windows, and Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS). The results showed that the amount of education and income of husbands, children, family size, and gender roles in financial management and purchasing decisions were related to marriage quality. Furthermore, the regression test results show that the husband's income and gender roles in purchasing decisions positively affect the quality of marriage. This study suggests that families further improve the distribution of balanced roles in financial management activities and strategies to improve role performance.
