Abstract

One of the uses of multimedia is to explain abstract concepts that cannot be directly observed by the five senses to be more easily understood, especially related to the concept of nuclear reactions in nuclear physics courses. This research aimed to get an overview of the mastery of the concept of nuclear reactions in students who take core physics courses and get an overview of the responses of students' perceptions of learning. The method of this research was experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques used in this research include the mastery test, student response questionnaire, documentation and observation. Data analysis techniques include descriptive analysis of student response questionnaires about multimedia-assisted nuclear physics learning process and analysis of mastery test results of the concept of nuclear reactions in nuclear physics courses using Ngain scores. The results showed that there was an increase in mastery of the nuclear reaction concept in nuclear physics subject with score of n-gain result was 0.41 and came into medium category. The ability to master concepts includes the ability to remember, understand, apply, analyze and evaluate. Based on this description, it can be concluded that the use of multimedia can increase students’ mastery concepts of nuclear reactions concept in nuclear physics courses.

Abstract

The success of a lesson can be measured by the achievement of student learning outcomes. Based on the preliminary test, it was found that 22 students (73.3%) were still under the KKM or who scored below 70. To improve learning outcomes, in this study the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative model was used. This type of research is classified as Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the implementation stages referring to the Kemmis and Taggart models. This research was planned in two cycles, including planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class VIIB Bangsalsari Junior High School 2019/2020, totaling 30 students. The test and observation method was used for data collection techniques, while the data analysis technique used comparative descriptive analysis (comparison) by comparing the results of pre-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2 and was calculated using a simple statistical formula. The results showed that the students' average score in the pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II was 57.03; 71.97; and 85.57. Completeness of learning outcomes increased from 26.67% (8 of 30 children); 66.67% (20 of 30 children) and 90.00% (27 of 30 children). It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of class VIIB students of SMPN 3 Bangsalsari for the 2019/2020 academic year through the TSTS cooperative model can improve.

Abstract

Metode geomagnetik adalah salah satu metode geofisika yang digunakan untuk memeriksa struktur batuan di bawah permukaan bumi . Penelitian ini dipelajari dengan menggunakan pengaruh kontur kelanjutan atas didasarkan pada pengurangan data kutub . Penelitian ini menjelaskan untuk membandingkan pada pengukuran dan interpretasi data dengan beragam hasil kontur. Metode penelitian dilakukan studi lintasan-lintasan di daerah penelitian yang muncul geologi karakteristik fisik dalam pemantauan secara langsung dan pemantauan tidak langsung . Hasil penelitian ini disebut keuntungan dari nilai tertinggi yang masalah respon dari geomagnetik dan potensi konduktivitas contouring pada daerah diteliti paling tajam.

Abstract

The content of formalin in salted fish needs to be known by the public in an easy and inexpensive way. Purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) is one of the plants that contains anthocyanin which will show a color change when reacted with formalin. This study aims to determine whether purple sweet potato extract can detect formalin content in salted fish. The method used is a pure experiment with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Salted fish samples were made by the researcher himself, while purple sweet potato was extracted with a dose ratio of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 (v purple sweet potato extract /v aquadest). The observation parameter was the time when the color changed from purple to reddish in the salted fish sample after being dripped with purple sweet potato extract. The data were analyzed statistically using the Kurskall-Wallis test and continued with Duncan's test. The results of the analysis showed that purple sweet potato extract could detect the presence of formalin in salted fish samples (p < 0.05). The treatment with a dose of 1: 1 was able to detect the fastest formalin content at 735.40 seconds compared to treatment 1: 2 (915.20) and treatment 1: 3 (1038.40). This time is close to the time required by the positive control treatment (607.80). The conclusion of this study confirms that purple sweet potato can be used by the public to detect formalin content in food.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of IPA students in class 9 H in SMP Negeri 10 Jember with picture and picture model). The type of research is Class Action Research (CAR). Class action in this research is done with two cycles. Each cycle implemented improvements to be achieved through the reflection. The results show that the application of cooperative learning model of picture and picture type can improve the learning outcomes of 9H class students. Cycle 1 achievement Minimum Completion Criteria is 41, 67%, while in Cycle 2 is 83%.

Abstract

Penyempurnaan kurikulum dilakukan untuk merespon tuntutan terhadap kehidupan globalisasi, perkembangan IPTEK, serta mempersiapkan siswa dalam menampilkan keunggulan dirinya yang tangguh, kreatif, mandiri, dan professional serta bertanggung jawab sesuai dengan standar mutu nasional. Salah satu strategi yang dapat mewujudkan tujuan diatas adalah melalui model pembelajaran tipe STAD. Apakah model pembelajaran ini akan menunjukkan peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dalam merespon pelajaran . Oleh karena itu dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan tujuan mengetahui prestasi belajar siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran tipe STAD. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan eksperimental. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa UPT SMP Negeri 8 Pasuruan semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah penarikan sampel acak berkelompok (cluster random sampling). Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas IX-E sebagai kelompokeksperimen .Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi RPP ,hasil belajar siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi analisis deskriptif proses pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar siswa. Dengan model pembelajaran tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan kemampuan prestasi hasil belajar siswa dalam proses pembelajaran , hal ini terlihat dari skor penilaian hasil belajar siswa pada tindakan I sebesar 40% yang tidak tuntas, menurun pada siklus II menjadi 23,3% yang tidak tuntas dan ada kenaikan siswa yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 16,7%.

Abstract

Sugarcane is one of the plantation products in the Jember area. Therefore, the processing of sugar cane as renewable energy can be used as a source of learning. The purpose of this research was to describe and analyze student responses profile by using teaching materials about the utilization of sugarcane processing as renewable energy in physics learning. This research method was descriptive research. The research respondents were 30 students who took integrated science course in odd semester 2016/2017 at the Physics Education Study Program, University of Jember. Data collection techniques using student response questionnaires, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use percentages. The results of this research indicate that student responses to the use of teaching materials about the utilization of sugarcane processing as renewable energy in physics learning amounted to 83,87% with a very positive category. Based on the analysis, it can be seen that students gave a very positive response using teaching materials about sugarcane processing as renewable energy in physics learning. Thus, the using of teaching materials about sugarcane processing as renewable energy can improve student learning motivation, mastery of concepts, scientific attitudes and environmental awareness.

Abstract

Ethnomatematics as link between culture and mathematics is a multicultural mathematical activity that uses culture in making connections with mathematics topics so as to motivate students to preserve their own culture while learning mathematics. The purpose of this reasearch are to explore ethnomathematics in Gajah Oling’s batik based on geometric concepts. The type of reaserch is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The subject of this reasearch is a design maker Gajah Oling’s batik. This research focuses on intersesting discovery from the exploration results, that is making pattern of Gajah Oling’s batik shirt. In the process of making pattern of Gajah Oling’s shirt, ethnomathematics seen on design and measuring activities. In desiging activities geometric concepts such as translation and reflection emerge, while in measuring activities, design makers use mathematics to determine the design size so that the fabric meeded to make a shirt can be minimized as little as possible.Keywords: Ethnomatematics, cocoa farmers, culture.

Abstract

Penerapan pendekatan saintifik melalui metode eksperimen merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang menggunakan enam langkah pembelajaran ilmiah dipadukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa pada saat menerapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui metode eksperimen, dan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar Fisika siswa setelah diterapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui metode eksperimen. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian yang bersifat pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yaitu kelas X MIA 3 sebanyak 33 orang. Pengambilan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan teknik tes. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh besarnya nilai rata-rata pada masing-masing aspek KPS antara lain: (1) Aspek Mengamati sebesar 90,3; (2) Aspek menyusun hipotesis sebesar 82,7; (3) Aspek menjalankan percobaan (eksperimen) sebesar 86,9; (4) Aspek menyimpulkan sebesar 79,5; (5) Aspek mengkomunikasikan sebesar 82,1. Nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test masing-masing sebesar 50,3 dan 77,6 dengan nilai presentase N-Gain sebesar 54,9%.

Abstract

Non-formal Islamic education in Indonesia, especially in the Greater Jabodetabek area, has a central role in fostering public education. Education which tends to be free is a source or a solution for equal distribution of education in Indonesia. But apart from its usefulness, when viewed in terms of its contextualization with the times, it seems that this non-formal Islamic education is a little behind by the times. The purpose of this study is to further examine the causes of the lagging behind of non-formal Islamic education, and to seek efforts to improve the non-formal Islamic education system through the role of the academic community. The research method uses a qualitative method with an interview, observation, and questionnaire-based data collection approach. The results of the study show that the cause of the lagging behind of non-formal Islamic education is due to the monotonous curriculum and the lack of support from an economic point of view, causing stagnation of activities in these non-formal educational institutions. Many expectations from the administrators and from the point of view of solution researchers are in the community service program carried out by both lecturers and students to help provide education to non-formal educational institutions so that they are maximally able to play an active role in generating community resources.
