COMPETITIVE: Journal of Education is a peer-reviewed journal published by Perkumpulan Dosen Fakultas Agama Islam Indramayu. The journal is aimed at spreading the research results conducted by academicians, educators, researchers, administrators at academic institutions, and practitioners in the field education in both theory and practice. Untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa khususnya mata pelajaran matematika perlu dicarikan upaya-upaya yang tepat dan efektif serta efisien. Salah satu upayanya adalah pemilihan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih menekankan pada aktivitas belajar siswa dan bukan pada aktivitas mengajar guru. Ada beberapa strategi pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Salah satunya adalah Problem-Based Learning. Dalam pembelajaran matematika, khususnya dalam penyelesaian soal-soal logika dibanding dengan strategi pembelajaran lainnya, strategi Problem-Based Learning memiliki beberapa keunggulan, di antaranya siswa lebih aktif untuk berdiskusi dan berkolaborasi dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal–soal pada pokok bahasan Logika Matematika. (2) mengetahui prestasi belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan Logika Matematika. (3) mengetahui dampak metode Problem-Based Learning dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan Logika Matematika

Kemampuan membaca tulis Al-qur’an sangat penting dimiliki oleh setiap peserta didik di setiap jenjang pendidikan, terlebih di jenjang Sekolah Dasar yang merupakan awal mula dari semua jenjang pendidikan tersebut. Dengan kemampuan membaca tulis yang baik maka akan tercapai hasil belajar yang baik pula. Namun demikian, kemampuan membaca siswa kelas III SD Negeri Lambangkuning masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan tulis Al-qur’an dengan metode demonstrasi terhadap siswa. Jenis dari penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjeknya adalah kelas III yang berjumlah 17 siswa dengan meliputi perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pengamatan dan tes. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan persentase kemampuan membaca siswa dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2. Pada siklus 1 hanya 46,9% dan siklus ke II naik menjadi 100% siswa dikatakan tercapai dengan IDK peneliti tentukan yakni 75%. Peningkatan ini berhasil dicapai karena Peneliti melakukan perbaikan pembelajaran pada aspek media pembelajaran, metode pembelajaran dan model pembelajaran. Dalam hal ini peneliti menggunakan media kertas folio dengan huruf, metode yang digunakan adalah demonstrasi dan model pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah cooperative learning. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode demonstrasi berbantu media kertas folio dengan huruf meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan meulis al-qur’an siswa SD Negeri Lambangkuning Tahun Pelajaran 2023

Class size reduction (CSR) program is a policy that has been implemented in the world of education to improve the quality of teaching and learning. This research aims to provide a historical review of CSR and its positive impact on education. Through library research, this study collects information on the CSR concept, evaluates CSR programs that have been implemented in various countries, and analyzes the positive impacts of those programs, such as increased teacher attention, improved social interaction, higher academic achievement, better teacher job satisfaction, enhanced equity, fewer discipline problems, more time for instruction, more time for individualization, and more varied instructional learning strategy. However, there are also criticisms of CSR, such as the high cost and the lack of consistent empirical evidence regarding its impact on student academic achievement. This study concludes that CSR is a promising policy for improving the quality of education, but its implementation requires careful consideration and evaluation. The findings of this study can provide insights for policymakers and education practitioners in deciding to implement CSR in their schools.

Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengopimalkan kompetensi guru pembelajar melalui metode tutor sebaya dengan pendekatan andragogi pada MGMP Kimia “Isotop Jari Janang" Kabupaten Barito Timur; (2) mengubah mindset guru Kimia pada MGMP Kimia “Isotop Jari Janang" Kabupaten Barito Timur Kabupaten Barito Timur menjagi guru sebagai agen pembaharuan yang siap menghadapi Uji Kompetensi Guru. Metode pembinaan dan pemberdayaan MGMP Kimia “Isotop Jari Janang" dengan metode totur sebaya dengan pendekatan andragogi. Hasil yang diperoleh dengan penerapan Pembinaan dan Pemberdayaan guru pembelajar melalui metode tutor sebaya dengan pendekatan andragogi dapat mengoptimalkan kompetensi Guru pada MGMP Kimia “Isotop Jari Janang" Kabupaten Barito Timur dan mampu mengubah mindsetnya sebagai guru yang menjadi agen pembaharuan dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang berpihak pada murid dan siap menghadapi Uji Kompetensi Guru (UKG).

This study aims to analyze the educational messages related to character education and environmental conservation in the film The Lion King (1994). Using a qualitative research design and content analysis, the film's narrative structure, dialogue, and visual elements were analyzed to identify key themes and sub-themes related to character education and environmental conservation. The results reveal that The Lion King contains important educational messages related to responsibility, leadership, respect for nature, and the interconnectedness of all living things. These findings highlight the potential of films as a tool for promoting positive values and education. The study's implications for education and media literacy are discussed, emphasizing the importance of incorporating media into educational curricula to enhance students' understanding of important concepts and foster critical thinking and analysis skills. Overall, this study shows that films, such as The Lion King, can be a valuable tool for promoting positive values and education, especially for character education and environmental conservation. The findings suggest that educators can use media content analysis as a means to identify and analyze the educational messages embedded in films, and incorporate these messages into educational curricula to enhance students' learning and development.

The purpose of writing this article is to (1) optimize the competence of student teachers through the peer tutoring method with an andragogical approach at the Chemistry MGMP "Jiang Jang Isotope" in East Barito Regency; (2) change the mindset of the Chemistry teacher at the Chemistry MGMP "Jiang Jang Isotope" East Barito Regency, Regency East Barito becomes a teacher as an agent of reform who is ready to face the Teacher Competency Test. The method of fostering and empowering the MGMP Chemistry "Isotope Jari Jenang" using the peer-to-peer method with the andragogical approach. The results obtained by implementing the Guidance and Empowerment of student teachers through the peer tutoring method with the andragogic approach can optimize the competence of teachers at the MGMP Chemistry "Isotope Jari Jang" Barito Regency Timur and was able to change his mindset as a teacher who became an agent of reform in facilitating student-centered learning and was ready to face the Teacher Competency Test (UKG).
