Abstract

Building student learning discipline is a process that needs to be done gradually and continuously. Students need to have a consistent study schedule every day. This study aims to determine the role of guidance and counseling teachers in fostering learning discipline in class XII-B students Ma Ma'arif Al-Ishlah Kalisat Bungkal Ponorogo. The research method used is a qualitative approach, a type of phenomenology. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed by phenomenological analysis with the stages given by Miles and Huberman, namely data condensation, data presentation and conclusions. Data validity uses source triangulation. The results of this study state that guidance and counseling teachers play a significant role in student learning discipline.

Abstract

Questioning skills is a skill that needs to be mastered by students at the elementary school level. Asking skills will encourage students to think in learning. Through asking questions can help students to master the concepts and facts in science learning. The focus of this research is to map students' questioning skills in science learning for heat material. The mapping of students' questioning skills is a form of analysis which is a form of preliminary study. The results of the analysis obtained 19 students who were less skilled in asking questions, 4 students who were quite skilled in asking questions, and 2 students who were skilled in asking questions. Thus, the teacher's efforts are still needed to facilitate students' questioning skills, for example by using the inquiry approach and contextual approach, applying the snowball throwing learning model and the debate learning model. The results of this study become an analysis of students' learning readiness for teachers to design learning according to children's learning styles.

Abstract

Implementation of character education is an effort to increase knowledge and familiarize good behavior for students. The main characters are the values of the Islamic religion and Muhammadiyah which are the basis of life. The characteristics of al-Islam Muhammadiyah include good morals, faith, piety, honesty, discipline and firmness in Muhammadiyah organization. Practically the purpose of this study is to find out how the efforts made by Muhammadiyah educational institutions at the secondary level in increasing knowledge, habituation and the implications of implementing character education. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. As for data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation related to Islamic character. The results of the research are 1) increasing knowledge of Al-Islam Muhammadiyah character education through classroom learning and training. 2) the implementation of the habituation of the Muhammadiyah Al-Islam character is carried out through carrying out mandatory worship, sunnah, praying, reading the Koran, morals and social activities. 3) the implementation of Al-Islam Muhammadiyah character education has implications for increasing knowledge, forming the habit of carrying out amaliyah according to true Islamic teachings, and having knowledge and experience in the Muhammadiyah organization by actively participating in Muhammadiyah activities in schools and the community.

Abstract

The amount of rice production in Indonesia every year is always increasing. The results of the rice mill produce waste material, namely husks. Along with the increase in rice production, the amount of rice husk waste has also increased. The purpose of this service is to assist the community in utilizing husk waste to make a useful product. The approach used in implementing the KKN program for the people of Jagapura Kulon Village, Gegesik District, Cirebon Regency, is a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) with five stages of design thinking. The dedication results show that the shoe rack and sandals that will be made use eco-friendly materials that use the waste from rice husks. The culture of reuse, reduce and recycle must also be applied to organic waste to reduce the use of new materials or materials. The manufacture of shoe and sandal racks is also expected to reduce the felling of trees used to make conventional shoe racks made of wood. Through RASENDAL products, we can reduce the use of new materials using unused waste.

Abstract

Background. The use of media in education is becoming increasingly important, especially in the current digital era. The Canva application has become a popular tool among teachers for creating interesting and informative learning materials. With a variety of visual features and ease of use, Canva allows teachers to create learning materials that suit students’ needs. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the influence of the Canva application in improving elementary school student achievement in West Sumatra and to understand teachers’ perceptions of its use Canva in learning. Method. This research uses a quantitative survey via Google Form which is distributed via WhatsApp groups to PGSD students in West Sumatra who use Canva as a learning medium. Research ethics were maintained by ensuring data confidentiality and voluntary participation. A total of 30 respondents. Results. This study explores the influence of the Canva application in improving the achievement of elementary school students in West Sumatra by collecting data from 30 respondents and six questions. From the analysis results, the majority of respondents actively use Canva as a learning medium, with most using this application every day or several times a week. The results of the analysis also show that the use of Canva in learning is considered effective in improving students’ understanding of learning materials, with the majority of respondents reporting an increase in student achievement after using learning materials created with Canva. Conclusion. Canva positively impacts elementary student achievement in West Sumatra by offering an intuitive user experience for teachers, enhancing student understanding, and boosting overall learning quality. It’s recommended to fellow teachers as an effective tool.

Abstract

Background. Cooperative learning methods have become the main focus in efforts to improve learning outcomes at the tertiary level, especially in English subjects. Its use is believed to provide a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, enabling students to develop English language skills holistically. Purpose. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of cooperative learning methods in English language subjects at universities, with a focus on speaking, listening, and understand English. Method. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research design. Two groups of students consisting of the experimental group (applying the cooperative learning method) and the control group (applying the conventional method) were given speaking, listening and understanding English ability tests before and after the learning intervention. Results. Data analysis showed that the cooperative learning method had a significant improve students' speaking, listening and understanding English skills in higher education. The average score of the experimental group on tests of speaking, listening and understanding English was significantly higher than that of the control group. Conclusion. In the context of English subjects in higher education, cooperative learning methods have proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes. Their use can enrich learning experiences, increase social interactions, and prepare students for success in an increasingly connected global environment. It is hoped that further support and application of this method can strengthen the quality of English language learning in higher education.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of early childhood education programs in promoting early childhood development. Through a comprehensive study involving cognitive, social, and emotional domains, we assessed the impact of these programs on young children's developmental outcomes. Our findings reveal significant improvements in school readiness, problem-solving abilities, and social competence among children who participated in early childhood education programs compared to those who did not. These results underscore the enduring benefits of quality early education and highlight the importance of program quality, curriculum alignment with developmental milestones, and equitable access for all children. This research investigates the effectiveness of early childhood education programs in promoting holistic early childhood development. Through a quasi-experimental design, we analyzed the impact of these programs on cognitive, social, and emotional outcomes in young children. The results reveal significant positive effects, with program participants exhibiting improved school readiness, enhanced problem-solving skills, and greater social competence compared to their peers. These findings highlight the pivotal role of early education in equipping children with essential skills for academic achievement and socio-emotional well-being. Implications for policymakers emphasize the importance of equitable access to high-quality early education, curriculum development aligned with developmental milestones, and ongoing professional development for educators.

Abstract

Kader posyandu merupakan penggerak utama seluruh kegiatan yang dilaksanakan di posyandu. Keberadaan kader penting dan strategis, ketika pelayanan yang diberikan mendapat simpati dari masyarakat akan menimbulkan implikasi positif terhadap kepedulian dan partisipasi masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan pengetahuan kader posyandu dengan kejadian stunting di Kelurahan Pejaten Barat Kecamatan Pasar Minggu Kota Jakarta Selatan. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 10-20 Juli 2023. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua kader posyandu UPT Puskesmas Pasar Minggu yaitu sebanyak 30 kader dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yaitu pengukuran antropometri tinggi badan menggunakan microtoise untuk mengetahui kejadian stunting dengan indeks TB/U, tingkat pengetahuan kader dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisa data yang digunakan adalah univariat dan bivariate Chi Square. Hasil penelitian didapat sebanyak 22 kader (73,3 %) memiliki pengetahuan yang tidak baik dan 21 (70,0%) balita mengalami stunting. Hasil analisis Uji Chi Square dapat diketahui bahwa p-value (0,003) < ? (0,05) maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, maka hasilnya ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan kader dengan kejadian stunting pada balita usia 24–59 bulan di Kelurahan Pejaten Barat Kecamatan Pasar Minggu Kota Jakarta Selatan. Saran dari peneliti kader posyandu diharapkan lebih aktif lagi untuk mencari ilmu terbaru mengenai stunting pada balita dan Pemerintah Daerah agar lebih perduli terhadap kader posyandu dan balita yang memiliki permasalahan gizi.

Abstract

Background. The development of an United Kingdom language learning curriculum that is relevant to the local context is a challenge in the world of education, especially in Indonesia which is rich in local culture and wisdom. United Kingdom language learning has tended to adopt global standards without paying attention to students' cultural backgrounds, making it less relevant for students in areas with strong cultures. In this context, the development of a curriculum based on local wisdom is expected to increase student engagement and the quality of United Kingdom language learning. Purpose. This study aims to develop an effective United Kingdom curriculum by integrating elements of local wisdom, as well as evaluating the impact of the implementation of the curriculum on students' motivation and language skills. Method. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving five schools in rural and urban areas. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and questionnaires given to 100 students and 10 teachers. Results. The results of the study show that the integration of local wisdom in United Kingdom language learning increases student motivation and participation, especially in rural areas. Students in urban areas tend to need materials that combine more local and global aspects. Teachers face challenges in finding suitable teaching materials, but in general this approach is considered effective. Conclusion. The conclusion of this study is that the curriculum based on local wisdom is able to increase the relevance and effectiveness of United Kingdom language learning. However, flexibility is needed in its application so that it can be adjusted to the needs of students in various regions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational messages related to character education and environmental conservation in the film The Lion King (1994). Using a qualitative research design and content analysis, the film's narrative structure, dialogue, and visual elements were analyzed to identify key themes and sub-themes related to character education and environmental conservation. The results reveal that The Lion King contains important educational messages related to responsibility, leadership, respect for nature, and the interconnectedness of all living things. These findings highlight the potential of films as a tool for promoting positive values and education. The study's implications for education and media literacy are discussed, emphasizing the importance of incorporating media into educational curricula to enhance students' understanding of important concepts and foster critical thinking and analysis skills. Overall, this study shows that films, such as The Lion King, can be a valuable tool for promoting positive values and education, especially for character education and environmental conservation. The findings suggest that educators can use media content analysis as a means to identify and analyze the educational messages embedded in films, and incorporate these messages into educational curricula to enhance students' learning and development.
