Abstract

Miracles are expressions of God's power. However, questions arise about John Calvin's concept of miracles. Does Calvin still believe that after the apostolic times, miracles still happen today? According to Pavel Hejzlar, Calvin said that miracle healings are no longer happening today because after the apostolic era ended there were no more miracles. This paper uses the bibliographical method to explore Calvin's concept of miracles both in Calvin's writings at the Institute of Christians Religion and in Calvin's commentaries. The author will prove that Calvin continued to believe that after the apostolic times miracles still occurred. Through this paper, the writer hopes that the misunderstanding of Calvin can be cleared up.   Mujizat merupakan pernyataan dari kuasa Allah. Namun, muncul pertanyaan mengenai konsep mujizat John Calvin. Apakah Calvin masih percaya bahwa setelah zaman para rasul, mujizat masih terjadi sampai hari ini? Menurut Pavel Hejzlar, Calvin mengatakan bahwa mujizat kesembuhan sudah tidak terjadi lagi pada saat ini karena setelah zaman para rasul berakhir sudah tidak ada mujizat lagi. Karya tulis ini memakai metode kepustakaan untuk menelusuri konsep mujizat Calvin baik dalam tulisan-tulisan Calvin yang ada di Institutio of Christians Religion maupun dalam tafsiran-tafsiran Calvin. Penulis akan membuktikan bahwa Calvin tetap percaya bahwa setelah zaman para rasul mujizat masih terjadi. Melalui tulisan ini penulis berharap kesalahpahaman terhadap Calvin bisa diluruskan.

Abstract

There are different views on divorce and remarriage. First, agree to divorce and remarriage. Second, agreeing to divorce and not agreeing to remarriage. Third, do not approve of divorce and remarriage. One of the writers who also gave his views on this topic is Peniel Maiaweng. This paper will discuss the concept of divorce and remarriage through a theological exegetical approach, especially in the text of Matthew 19:9. Through these exegetical results, the author will also present a response to Peniel Maiaweng's views.   Ada berbagai pandangan yang berbeda mengenai perceraian dan pernikahan kembali. Pertama, menyetujui perceraian dan pernikahan kembali. Kedua, menyetujui perceraian dan tidak menyetujui pernikahan kembali. Ketiga, tidak menyetujui perceraian dan pernikahan Kembali. Salah satu penulis yang turut memberi pandangan mengenai topik tersebut adalah Peniel Maiaweng. Tulisan ini akan membahas konsep perceraian dan pernikahan kembali melalui pendekatan eksegetis teologis khususnya pada teks Matius 19:9. Melalui hasil eksegetis tersebut, penulis juga akan memaparkan respons terhadap pandangan Peniel Maiaweng.

Abstract

There are certain assumptions with inner-biblical exegesis which, in light of reception theory, can not be maintained. Reception theory stresses the social context and function of the act of reading which is also present in inner-biblical exegesis and must be analyzed. Hence, a proper methodology is needed to study inner-biblical exegesis. Through comparative analysis between reception theory and inner-biblical exegesis, in this article, I argue that inner-biblical exegesis can be seen as a form of reception. Two distinctive features of inner-biblical exegesis—directionality and intentionality—fit nicely with the concept in reception theory—the first- and second-degree texts. Furthermore, seeing inner-biblical exegesis as a form of reception necessitates an understanding of its social function as it is influenced by and seeks to influence its social-historical context. Therefore, studying inner-biblical exegesis is not only limited to identifying strategies of interpretation but also its social-historical context and, hence, its social function.

Abstract

One of the main problems faced by every country in the world today is problem of poverty, the problem seems to be continuous and endless. Poverty is still the biggest problem in the world today because this problem involves life and death. Poor people cannot get out of their problems without the help of others. The problem is that the poor don't know who to turn to to help them. If God's people were faithful in doing good to the poor and needy people, then their lives would be the same as what Jesus exemplified in His life while living on earth, and people like that would receive salvation. The act of helping those in need, especially the poor, on the other hand, is a natural fruit of salvation and is based on what Christ did for His people at Calvary. This article qualitatively uses analytical, comparative, and argumentative methods. Comparatively, the ladder model which is too rigid and normative while taking into account other examples will be compared with the garden model, which assumes a plurality of types of spirituality. The result of this research is for everyone to understand the meaning of why it is so important to serve the poor. So that a Christian does not neglect his obligation to help people in need, because serving the poor is the same as doing it to Jesus.

Abstract

The gospel is a message of good news that originates with God and is directed toward his glory. Paul warned the Galatians in Galatians 1:6–9 not to trust in the false gospel in order to save them from destruction. What false gospel is that, and what is its difference from the true Gospel, he questioned after stating the fundamental issue? The purpose of this study is to clarify the differences between the true and false gospels (Gal. 3:1). The method of research used is exegesis, which involves analyzing text through its syntax and semantics. The results of the author's research that the fake Bible is a false gospel is a gospel that turns away from grace, is human - centered (v. 6-7), and is cursed (v. 8-9). However, the true gospel is one that is based on grace in order to please God and lead to salvation through faith.

Abstract

All believers are appointed by God to do His work on earth. There are three imperatives or orders: the cultural imperative, the missionary imperative, and the social imperative. Every believer has a duty to fulfill this commission, a responsibility that must be fulfilled. Nevertheless, some believers do not feel responsible for fulfilling their social and divine mission. A social commission is a divine command given to believers to pay attention and care for social problems as they arise. However, some believers still ignore social imperatives on the grounds that human social conditions will surely be destroyed and destroyed, so there is no point in influencing the structure of society. A Christian's only duty is to perform only spiritual acts of salvation. Indeed, when this social task is carried out by believers, there is a great opportunity if this task is carried out correctly and properly. However, if we consider social missions further, we find that social entrepreneurship is a social mission. Social entrepreneurship can also be a vehicle for gospel preaching today. The method of answering this research question is presented in a narrative format using a qualitative writing method and then a literature review approach. Using this method, we can understand that even though social entrepreneurship is a form of social mission, it can be realized through social entrepreneurship. Social entrepreneurship can not only help people with social problems, but it can bring God's universal love to those who do not know God. Also, Allah's Shalom is readily available to all mankind from all aspects of life.

Abstract

In 2018, the Indonesian Karate national team (Timnas) experienced a decline in achievement when competing in Yokohama Japan, where the Indonesian Karateka national team (Timnas) did not win a gold medal. In the following year, 2019 in Kinabalu, The Indonesian junior national team also did not win a gold medal at all but only took home three silver medals and nine bronze medals. The problem is that Karate athletes get nervous and become unfocused about the match. This has an impact on athletes who are easily affected by the screams of opposing supporters, are not calm, do not have the spirit of fighting until finally the opponent easily defeats Indonesian athletes. To be able to overcome these problems, the authors make a personal approach to each athlete in the national team in order to observe the athletes using quantitative methods. The approach of this study is counseling guidance used by the author is counseling guidance behavior (behavioral) and achievement motivation theory of McClelland and Herzberg as a complement to the athletes. The result is that the athlete's Feelings change, that is, he does not give up easily in all situations and conditions, always fights, dares to face challenges, is not afraid of losing, and has calmness when fighting with the enemy. The implementation of counseling guidance for these athletes was seen at the 2021 AKF Championship in Almaty, Kazhakstan, Indonesia to end the three-year Golden Fast. The national team included 18 karateka participants, of which two managed to get gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals.   Pada tahun 2018, Tim Nasional (Timnas) Karate Indonesia mengalami penurunan prestasi saat bertanding di Yokohama Jepang, dimana Tim Nasional (Timnas) Karateka Indonesia tidak meraih medali emas. Di tahun berikutnya, 2019 di Kinabalu, timnas junior Indonesia juga tidak meraih medali emas sama sekali tetapi hanya membawa pulang tiga medali perak dan sembilan medali perunggu. Permasalahannya adalah atlet Karate merasa gugup serta menjadi tidak fokus pada pertandingan. Hal ini berdampak pada atlet mudah terpengaruh dengan suara teriakan suporter lawan, pembawaan diri tidak tenang, tidak memiliki semangat bertarung hingga akhirnya lawan dengan mudah mengalahkan atlet Indonesia. Untuk dapat mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penulis melakukan pendekatan pribadi terhadap setiap atlet di tim nasional tersebut agar bisa mengobservasi para atlet dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah bimbingan konseling yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah bimbingan konseling perilaku (behavioral) dan teori motivasi berprestasi dari McClelland dan Herzberg sebagai pelengkap kepada para atlet. Hasilnya adalah perasaan atlet mengalami perubahan, yaitu tidak mudah menyerah dalam segala situasi dan kondisi, selalu berjuang, berani hadapi tantangan, tidak takut kalah, dan memiliki ketenangan saat bertarung dengan musuh. Implementasi bimbingan konseling bagi para atlet ini terlihat pada kejuaraan AKF Championship tahun 2021 di Almaty, Kazhakstan, Indonesia bisa mengakhiri puasa emas selama tiga tahun. Timnas mengikutsertakan 18 peserta karateka, di mana dua di antaranya berhasil memperoleh medali emas, lima medali perak dan empat medali perunggu.

Abstract

According To J. Oswald Senders that effective church leadership involves a blend of inner life growth and the use of leadership abilities from the outside. This approach emphasizes the importance of spiritual discipline in the character development of church leaders, which helps them lead the congregation effectively. Prayer, scripture study, communion, and Sabbath giving are identified as the four main areas of spiritual discipline in the Senders leadership paradigm. Church leaders can improve their relationship with God, gain insight into the needs of their community, and build a culture of spiritual growth within their church by prioritizing these behaviors. The purpose of this study that we need a leadership that is able to transform the character of the church, provide strategic changes, as well as those that can increase the potential of the individuals it leads, effectively manage resources and have the desire to be actively involved in the process of fighting discrimination still occurs in many parts. J. Oswald provided the basis for good spiritual leadership in church leadership.  The research method used is to examine the leadership model J. Oswald Senders and his application in church leadership in today's context. The result is the leadership model of J. Oswald Sanders applied to spiritual discipline in church leadership, namely establishing personal discipline, demonstrating discipline in how to manage others, and reviewing progress in achieving their goals regularly and adjusting strategies accordingly.   Menurut J. Oswald Senders bahwa kepemimpinan gereja yang efektif melibatkan perpaduan antara pertumbuhan kehidupan batin dan penggunaan kemampuan kepemimpinan dari luar. Pendekatan ini menekankan pentingnya disiplin rohani dalam pengembangan karakter pemimpin gereja, yang membantu mereka memimpin jemaat secara efektif. Doa, penelaahan kitab suci, persekutuan, dan sabat memberikan diidentifikasi sebagai empat bidang utama disiplin rohani dalam paradigma kepemimpinan Senders. Pemimpin gereja dapat meningkatkan hubungan mereka dengan Tuhan, mendapatkan wawasan tentang kebutuhan komunitas mereka, dan membangun budaya pertumbuhan rohani di dalam gereja mereka dengan memprioritaskan perilaku ini. Tujuan penelitian ini bahwa kita membutuhkan kepemimpinan yang mampu mentransformasikan karakter gereja, memberikan perubahan-perubahan strategis, sekaligus yang dapat meningkatkan potensi individu-individu yang dipimpinnya, efektif mengelola sumber daya dan memiliki keinginan untuk aktif terlibat dalam proses melawan diskriminasi masih terjadi dalam banyak bagian. J. Oswald memberikan dasar kepemimpinan rohani yang baik dalam kepemimpinan gereja.  Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah meneliti kepemimpinan model J. Oswald Senders dan penerapannya di kepemimpinan gereja dalam konteks sekarang ini. Hasilnya adalah model kepemimpinan J. Oswald Sanders menerapkan pada disiplin rohani dalam kepemimpinan gereja, yaitu membangun disiplin pribadi, menunjukkan disiplin dalam cara mengatur orang lain, dan meninjau kemajuan dalam mencapai tujuan mereka secara teratur dan menyesuaikan strategi sebagaimana mestinya.

Abstract

This research explores the topic of pastoral leadership in managing congregational conflict in local churches, drawing insights from the passage in Mark 10:41-45. The aim is to understand the implications of this biblical text for contemporary pastoral leaders in dealing with conflict within their congregations. The paper begins by introducing the passage in Mark 10:41-45, highlighting its relevance and significance in the context of pastoral leadership and conflict management. It then examines the background and context of the text, followed by an analysis of its content and central message. This research explores the implications for pastoral leaders in managing congregational conflict in local churches. It emphasizes the importance of pastoral leaders adopting a servant-like attitude and prioritizing the needs and interests of others. This research emphasizes the importance of pastoral leaders embodying the principles of servant leadership and selfless service in their roles. This paper encourages pastoral leaders to reflect on these principles and apply them in their leadership practice in the context of their local churches.   Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi topik kepemimpinan pastoral dalam mengelola konflik jemaat di gereja-gereja lokal, mengambil wawasan dari bagian dalam Markus 10:41-45. Tujuannya adalah untuk memahami implikasi teks alkitabiah ini bagi para pemimpin pastoral kontemporer dalam menghadapi konflik di dalam jemaat mereka. Makalah ini dimulai dengan memperkenalkan perikop dalam Markus 10:41-45, menyoroti relevansi dan signifikansinya dalam konteks kepemimpinan pastoral dan manajemen konflik. Kemudian memeriksa latar belakang dan konteks teks, diikuti dengan analisis isi dan pesan sentralnya. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi implikasi bagi para pemimpin pastoral dalam mengelola konflik jemaat di gereja-gereja lokal. Hal ini menekankan pentingnya para pemimpin pastoral mengadopsi sikap seperti pelayan dan memprioritaskan kebutuhan dan kepentingan orang lain. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pemimpin pastoral mewujudkan prinsip-prinsip kepemimpinan yang melayani dan pelayanan tanpa pamrih dalam peran mereka. Makalah ini mendorong para pemimpin pastoral untuk merenungkan prinsip-prinsip ini dan menerapkannya dalam praktik kepemimpinan mereka dalam konteks gereja lokal mereka.

Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between religion, entrepreneurship, and social impact, using Abraham's life as an example of how these aspects can collaborate to bring about positive change in the world. Abraham's example shows how faith and business can coexist and impact the lives of his employees. As a result, Abraham is not only a role model for entrepreneurs but also an inspiration for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on society through faith and business. This study emphasizes Abraham's example of faith and persistent entrepreneurial spirit. The aim of this research is to provide inspiration and direction for individuals who wish to combine their religion and work to make the world a better place. This paper uses a qualitative library research method, meaning that the source of this writing uses literary sources both from books and online journals related to the figure of the entrepreneur Abraham. Thus, the author builds theory and constructs Abraham's entrepreneurship and the relationship between faith and business.
