Abstract

Early childhood is a very important developmental stage in shaping children's character, thinking skills, and creativity, where children quickly respond to stimuli through learning experiences that are appropriate to their developmental stage. This study aims to improve the creativity of children aged 5–6 years through loose parts learning at Amal Sholeh Islamic Kindergarten in Tasikmalaya. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method model of Kemmis and McTaggart with four stages: Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. The research subjects were 17 children. Children's creativity was assessed based on five indicators: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Elaboration, and Sensitivity. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the planning and implementation of learning by teachers, as well as the development of children's creativity. In the pre-cycle stage, children's creativity abilities only achieved 15.8% (Undeveloped). In the first cycle, the teacher's ability in planning only got 78.5%, then the teacher's ability in implementation only got 52.7%. After improvement, in the second cycle, the teacher's ability in planning increased to 92.8%, for the teacher's ability in implementation also increased to 75%, then for the child's creativity ability increased to 51.1% (Developing According to Expectations). Until its peak in the third cycle, the teacher's ability in planning increased to 98.2%, and the teacher's ability in implementation increased to 94.4%, and for the child's creativity ability increased to 83.8% (Developing Very Well). This finding shows that loose part learning is effective in stimulating the creativity of early childhood and can be a strategy for stimulating the development of creativity at an early age, and can be an alternative innovation in learning that is fun and meaningful

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using picture card media in overcoming articulation difficulties of consonant sounds in children aged 5–6 years. Articulation problems, such as inaccurate pronunciation of sounds like /d/, /g/, /p/, /f/, and /r/, can hinder children's language and communication development. The research employed an experimental method using a Single Subject Research (SSR) approach with an A-B-A design, consisting of three phases: baseline-1 (A1), intervention (B), and baseline-2 (A2). The subject of the study was a single child experiencing articulation difficulties with consonant sounds. Data were collected through structured observation using an articulation assessment instrument and analyzed descriptively with visual graph representation. The results showed a significant improvement in the child’s articulation ability after the intervention using picture card media. In the A1 phase, the average articulation percentage was 34.15%, which increased to 78.18% during the intervention phase (B), and remained at 76.33% in the A2 phase. This improvement indicates that picture card media can strengthen children's visual-verbal associations with letter sounds, enhance concentration, and motivate them to pronounce consonants more accurately. This study recommends the use of picture card media as a fun, structured, and effective learning alternative for teachers and parents in supporting early childhood language development, particularly in addressing consonant articulation difficulties

Abstract

The moral decline among early childhood learners in the digital era demands a reorientation of education based on Qur’anic values. Early childhood education in Islam is not merely a process of knowledge transmission but a holistic formation of personality through the integration of spiritual, moral, and social aspects. This study aims to explore the philosophical concept of Qur’an-based early childhood education by analyzing the core values of tawhid (monotheism), tarbiyah (education), and akhlaq (morality) as the foundation for Islamic character formation. A qualitative-descriptive approach was employed using the thematic (maudhu‘i) method of Qur’anic interpretation focusing on verses such as Luqman [31]:12–19, Al-Isra [17]:23–24, and At-Tahrim [66]:6. The findings reveal that Qur’anic education emphasizes three interrelated dimensions: tawhid as the spiritual foundation, tarbiyah as a comprehensive educational process, and akhlaq as the ultimate moral goal. This framework creates a holistic model that balances intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and social intelligence. The study implies the necessity of integrating Qur’anic values into early childhood education curricula to cultivate ulul albab—intelligent, ethical, and spiritually enlightened individuals

Abstract

Javanese, as part of local cultural identity, needs to be introduced from an early age to prevent it from being eroded by the dominance of foreign languages and digital media. One relevant approach is through traditional performing arts, packaged appropriately for children's development. This study aims to develop the puppet operetta "Pandawa 5" as a learning medium for introducing Javanese to kindergarten students at ABA Karanganyar. The method used in this study was Research and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects were 15 boys aged 5–6 years in the B2 group at ABA Karanganyar Kindergarten. This study yielded validation results, indicating that the operetta script obtained an average score of 86% (valid category). Quantitative pretest–posttest data showed a significant increase, from a score range of 30–55 in the pretest to 65–85 in the posttest, with an average increase of 35 points. All participants experienced an increase in their understanding of Javanese, demonstrated by their ability to use simple vocabulary, understand dialogue, and express the character values of wayang characters such as courage, honesty, and responsibility. Thus, this study concludes that the Wayang Pandawa 5 operetta is effective as a medium for learning Javanese in kindergarten, while also serving as a means of preserving local culture and strengthening character education from an early age

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Islamic counseling model based on the stories of the Prophets as an effort to strengthen moral values among early childhood students at TK Islam Al Amin, Medan Johor. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 20 children aged 5–6 years. The intervention was conducted over eight sessions within one month. Research instruments included a moral development observation sheet, teacher interview guidelines, and documentation of learning activities. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the children’s moral development, with the average moral score increasing from 63% to 87%. The most notable growth was observed in the aspects of honesty and empathy. These results were supported by teachers’ reports, which indicated that storytelling based on the lives of the Prophets was effective, as it provided concrete examples that were easy for children to understand and emulate. Based on these findings, the Islamic counseling model using the stories of the Prophets is recommended for continuous application in Islamic educational institutions to nurture children’s character from an early age

Abstract

Pedagogical competence needs to be adjusted to the application of technology so that the educational process does not solely depend on devices, but also focuses on achieving children's developmental goals. Therefore, a deep understanding of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, reinforced by solid self-efficacy, is an essential requirement for early childhood educators to transform the potential of technology into superior pedagogical standards. The purpose of this study is to explore the pedagogical competency challenges faced by educators in Class A of the PG LAB FKIP UNRI kindergarten in applying learning technology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the introduction and use of technology should be a necessity in creating learning that is relevant and adaptive to the demands of the times. Teachers are required to constantly update their skills in using digital technology to be more creative and innovative in teaching so that an optimal learning process can be achieved.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in managing buying–selling role-play activities as a medium for developing entrepreneurial attitudes in children aged 4–6 years at Sejahtera 4 Kindergarten. The study focused on teacher planning, management of activity implementation, and the forms of entrepreneurial attitudes that emerged during children’s participation in the role play. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving one classroom teacher as the main subject, with data collected through in-depth interviews and light observation of teachers’ explanations and activity arrangements. The findings indicate that teachers play a strategic role in designing learning activities by setting objectives, preparing play scenarios, and providing supporting media such as tables, merchandise, and toy money. Through scaffolding and guided assistance, teachers facilitated children’s initiative, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and simple problem-solving skills during the buying–selling simulation. Previous studies have largely emphasized the social-emotional benefits of role play, while limited attention has been given to teachers’ managerial roles in fostering entrepreneurial attitudes in early childhood. This study contributes theoretically by extending the discussion of entrepreneurship education within a play-based learning framework and practically by offering insights for teachers to design structured role-play activities that more intentionally support entrepreneurial character development in early childhood settings

Abstract

The study titled Implementation of Physical Motor Development for Early Childhood at TK Aisyiyah 2 and TK Kartika IX-10 Cangkurileung Tasikmalaya aims to describe in depth the implementation of motor stimulation as a foundation for cognitive, socio-emotional, and independent development in early childhood. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation analysis, including activity photos and lesson plans (RPP/RPH). The findings reveal that both institutions have developed motor programs aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum for Early Childhood Education. Gross motor development is fostered through activities such as gymnastics, movement games, jumping, crawling, running, kicking, and catching a ball. Fine motor development is supported through cutting, folding, pasting, beading, and manipulating small tools. Children’s progress is evaluated using authentic assessments, including observations, anecdotal records, developmental checklists, and portfolios. Challenges identified include limited teacher support, insufficient parental understanding of motor activity safety, and varying developmental levels among children. Despite these obstacles, motor activities significantly enhance children’s body coordination, balance, movement control, courage, concentration, and self-confidence. The study highlights the importance of strong collaboration between schools and parents, along with the provision of a safe and stimulating play environment to optimize early childhood physical motor development

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of physical motor development in early childhood at RA At-Taufiq and Al-Azhar Islamic Kindergarten in Tasikmalaya. A qualitative approach was used with a case study method. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analysed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that through planned and meaningful play, both institutions prioritise the development of children's motor skills. At RA At-Taufiq, emphasis is placed on children's physical health and discipline through regular exercise, nutritional checks, and reducing the consumption of packaged foods. Meanwhile, TK Islam Al-Azhar incorporates Islamic values into motor activities through nasyid gymnastics, thematic games, and outdoor learning activities. Through running, jumping, and kicking balls, both institutions improve children's gross motor skills and fine motor skills. Daily observations and anecdotal notes are the correct ways to evaluate development. Observations show that regular physical motor activities carried out in context can improve children's coordination, strength, agility, and concentration. Thus, planned and consistent physical motor development has been proven to be beneficial in supporting the overall development of early childhood
