Abstract

PT Pradja Agro Indoland is an agribusiness company dealing with coconut commodities, including crystal sugar. Currently, coconut crystal sugar has high potency because of its benefits. Several coconut crystal sugar companies compete to market their products domestically and abroad. The increasingly tight industrial competition requires PT Pradja Agro Indoland to formulate appropriate marketing strategies to find a profitable marketing position. This research aims to identify internal and external factors in PT Pradja Agro Indoland's coconut crystal sugar marketing, formulate alternative coconut crystal sugar marketing strategies, and determine appropriate strategic priorities for PT Pradja Agro Indoland to implement in marketing coconut crystal sugar products. This research uses a descriptive method, with 14 critical informants determined by purposive sampling, where the key informants were the people who knew about the marketing of coconut crystal sugar in PT Pradja Agro Indoland. Data collection using the interview method was done from March to June 2024. Data were analyzed using analytical tools, including the IFE matrix, EFE matrix, IE matrix, SWOT matrix, and QSPM, to determine the priority strategy. The research results show that the main strength in marketing coconut crystal sugar at PT Pradja Agro Indoland is its FFL (Fair For Life) and ROC (Regenerative Organic Certified) certification and perfect product quality control. The main weakness of PT Pradja Agro Indoland is that factory employees do not have work continuity. The foremost opportunity of the external factor for PT Pradja Agro Indoland is many farmers. The primary threat is the difficulty of regenerating penderes farmers. The strategic priority that PT Pradja Agro Indoland can implement based on the QSP matrix analysis is to expand the target market.

Abstract

Kecap Kentjana is the only sweet soy sauce product from Kebumen Regency produced by CV Srikandi Makmur Sejahtera since 1960. Kebumen people who are proud of local products will provide positive recommendations to create a positive reputation for the product. Word of Mouth can significantly increase product awareness and popularity, influencing purchasing decisions for Kecap Kentjana. Apart from Word of Mouth, consumer purchasing decisions are also influenced by price, product quality, and brand image variables. The study aims to determine the effect of these four variables on the purchase decision of Kentjana Soy Sauce in Kebumen Regency. The primary research method uses the descriptive analysis method. The purposive sampling method was used to determine the location. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and recording using a questionnaire. The purposive sampling method was used to determine the number of samples, with 110 respondents. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach is used to analyze the data. The results prove that purchasing decisions are significantly influenced by Word of Mouth and product quality. Positive information from someone who is known can encourage potential customers to buy Kentjana soy sauce because potential customers tend to trust recommendations from the closest people, and the quality of the taste offered by Kentjana soy sauce is different from other soy sauce, so purchasing decisions will increase. The results also prove that price and brand image do not significantly influence purchasing decisions. The Kebumen community has consumed Kentjana soy sauce for generations. People have the views and habits of always choosing Kentjana soy sauce as their first choice, so price and brand image variables do not influence purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The skincare sector has many prospects due to the growing public awareness of skin health. Indonesia's cosmetics industry grew by 20.6% between 2021 and 2022, according to data from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The XYZ skincare products, which originated in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, and are derived from aloe vera, are among the most well-liked items from this trend. This study examined how the marketing mix impacted Pontianak City's purchases of O-degree products. Pontianak City was chosen for this study because it is a hub for aloe vera farming and is renowned for generating high-quality goods. The study's sample size was 100 customers aged 17 and older who had bought skincare products containing aloe vera at least twice in the previous six months. The factors influencing purchase decisions are assessed using the data analysis technique known as structural equation modeling (SEM). Product, pricing, location, and advertising were the characteristics that were being examined. The survey's results showed that most participants were female, between the ages of 21 and 25, working for a private company, college-educated, and making between Rp1,500,001 and Rp3,000,000. The product variable influenced consumers' buying decisions the most of the four factors analyzed. This is due to the distinctive worth and uniqueness of XYZ items, which are native Pontianak commodities. To improve buying decisions, entrepreneurs must focus more on improving product quality and maintaining the features that are the product's main draws. By enhancing product quality and giving local Pontianak products more prominence, XYZ is expected to be able to compete more successfully in the fiercely competitive skincare market.

Abstract

Endophytic fungi, particularly dark septate endophytes (DSE), have emerged as a promising and sustainable strategy for mitigating fungal pathogens in chili plants. Effective pathogen management is critical in chili production, as fungal infections can cause significant crop losses, reduce fruit quality, and decrease yield. While the use of endophytic fungi in plant protection has been explored in various crops, the potential of DSE as a biocontrol against fungal pathogens in chili plants remains unknown. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of DSE fungi as biological antagonists against significant pathogens that cause destructive diseases in chili plants, using in vitro trials. The study was conducted from December 2023 to March 2024 at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). A completely randomized design (CRD) was employed, with a single factor—DSE treatment. Three treatments included D0 (control), DSE 411, and DSE 471. Four pathogenic species were tested: Fusarium oxysporum (Fo), Phytophthora capsici (Py), Colletotrichum capsici (Cc), and Alternaria sp. (Alt). Inhibition rates (IR) were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The highest antagonistic activity was observed against C. capsici (Cc), with DSE 411 showing a mean value of IR of 77.54%, whereas DSE 471 exhibited a significantly higher IR of 90.26%. Macroscopic observations revealed the formation of clear zones around both DSE colonies, suggesting the mechanism of inhibition by antibiosis or the production of antifungal compounds. Microscopic analysis using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed specific antagonistic mechanisms, including parasitism and competition, as key factors in pathogen suppression. These findings highlight the potential use of DSE fungi as effective biocontrol agents for managing major diseases in chili plants, offering a promising strategy for sustainable disease management and crop protection.

Abstract

Livestock activities are animal cultivation activities to obtain profits, one of which is obtained through increasing production. This research aims to analyze the influence of production factors, namely land size, capital, chicken seeds or DOC, feed, medicines, labor, cost of electricity, and partnership patterns, on broiler poultry production. The method used in the research is the linear regression analysis method using the Douglas production function. This study was conducted in North Tarakan District, Tarakan City, North Kalimantan. The research respondents were 30 broiler poultry breeders selected using a quota sampling technique consisting of independent and partner chicken breeders. The analysis results are as follows: 1) production factors that significantly affect broiler poultry production are chicken seeds (DOC) and feed. Meanwhile, production factors such as cage area, capital, labor, and electricity do not significantly influence broiler poultry production. 2) Dummy partnership patterns do not significantly affect broiler poultry production. However, in this case, study, the advantage that breeders get by partnering with plasma companies is that breeders get convenience in providing seeds (DOC), feed, medicines, and certainty of marketing by partners. Breeders get material and counseling for administering vaccines, disease prevention techniques, and medicines from partners. Stated that providing training and extension services has the potential to increase chicken productivity. While the disadvantage is possible losses from entering into a partnership, including that chicken breeders are not free to sell their production to other places if the price of chicken rises.
