Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the GIReSiMCo model oriented to deep learning on students' scientific literacy, and analyze students' scientific literacy abilities based on scientific literacy indicators. The research design is quasi-experimental in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design involving 67 students of grade XI. The instrument used in this study is 22 questions on scientific literacy in biology in the form of multiple choices and essays. The 22 questions are a combination of four indicators of scientific literacy, namely scientific literacy explaining phenomena scientifically, designing investigations, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. To determine the effect of the GIReSiMCo learning model oriented to deep learning, the data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test formula, while the analysis of scientific literacy abilities based on the four indicators was analyzed by calculating the average value per indicator in each class. The results of the t-test analysis showed that the p-value of 0.00 was smaller than 0.05, which means that the GIReSiMCo model oriented to deep learning had a significant effect on scientific literacy. Of the four scientific literacy indicators influenced by the GIReSiMCo learning model, the ability to explain phenomena achieved the highest average score, at 87.5. The indicator for designing investigations scored 87.1; the indicator for interpreting data scored 85.7; and the indicator for drawing conclusions scored 82.5. The deep learning-oriented GIReSiMCo learning model is suitable for application in biology instruction to improve students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison of life insurance premiums calculated using a deterministic interest rate model and a stochastic model based on Vasicek. Differences in interest rate assumptions are evaluated based on their impact on the Expected Present Value (EPV) and the resulting premium. The deterministic approach uses a constant interest rate of 4.93% based on the average BI Rate for the 2016–2025 period, while the stochastic approach applies the Vasicek model with Monte Carlo simulation to represent interest rate fluctuations. The data used include historical interest rates and the 2019 Indonesian Mortality Table (TMI). The results show that the EPV Benefit in the Vasicek model is 1.16% higher than the deterministic model, which results in a premium increase of 0.36% (Rp 173,592 compared to Rp 172,967). This relatively small difference indicates that the premium sensitivity to interest rate changes in this study is relatively low. This study confirms that the Vasicek model provides more realistic estimates because it captures interest rate dynamics. However, the significance of the differences is significantly influenced by the level of volatility. Therefore, the use of stochastic models in premium determination becomes more relevant in conditions of highly fluctuating interest rates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the calculation of the net single premium of term life insurance using the discrete and continuous model approaches with the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) stochastic interest rate. The data used are the BI Rate interest rate for the period January 2022 to February 2026, as well as the 2023 Indonesian Population Mortality Table (TMPI) for the female category. The CIR model parameter estimation was carried out using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. The estimation results show that the model has mean reversion characteristics with a long-term average of 0.05 (5%) and a variance of 0.0000002, which indicates relatively stable interest rate fluctuations. The interest rate rate (force of interest) is obtained at δ = 0.036025. Furthermore, the model is used to calculate the discount factor and premium. The calculation results show that the net single premium with the discrete approach is Rp 911,088.22, smaller than the continuous approach of Rp 927,703.73. This difference is due to the timing of benefit payments. The discrete model assumes payment at the end of the year of death, while the continuous model assumes payment at the time of death. Therefore, the continuous approach yields a greater present value of future benefits. This study shows that the choice of premium model and interest rate assumptions significantly influence premium amounts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sensitivity of term life insurance premiums to interest rate changes using the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) model by considering volatility and coverage period. The study uses interest rate data for the 2021–2025 period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the 2019 Indonesian Mortality Table (TMI), with a case study of a 30-year-old insured, a sum insured of IDR 100,000,000, and tenors of 5, 10, and 20 years. The results show that the premiums of the CIR model are consistently higher than those of the fixed interest rate model by a difference of around 0.5%–1.5%. Quantitatively, an increase in the interest rate from 3% to 7% significantly reduces the premium, while an extension of the coverage period increases the premium proportionally. Meanwhile, interest rate volatility has a relatively small effect on the premium, in line with the low value of the volatility parameter (σ = 0.00549). Thus, interest rates and coverage terms are the dominant factors in determining premiums, while volatility has a limited influence in the model used.

Abstract

Indonesia has natural and cultural riches that have great potential as a source of inspiration in creating works of art, including in the field of fantasy make-up. However, the utilization of local natural potential, especially from the Papua region such as Lake Sentani, is still not optimal in developing body painting works. This research aims to determine the feasibility of visualizing Lake Sentani as inspiration for fantasy body painting make-up designs in creating artistic works. The method used is quantitative descriptive involving three expert validators in the field of beauty and design. The data collection technique is carried out through performance tests using a Likert scale assessment instrument which has been tested for validity and reliability. Assessment indicators include the visual aesthetics of works, elements and principles of fine art, the body as a medium for aesthetic expression, beauty product creativity, meaning and visual representation, and aesthetics in the field of beauty. Data analysis uses descriptive percentage techniques. The research results show that all indicators received a very feasible category with an average value of 96%. The beauty product creativity indicator received the highest score of 100%, while the other indicators were in the range 92%–97%. These findings show that the visualization of Lake Sentani can be processed into fantasy make-up works that are aesthetic, innovative and have strong visual meaning. Thus, the visualization of Lake Sentani is worthy of being used as a source of inspiration in developing fantasy body painting works based on local wisdom.
