Abstract

This study investigates the execution and consequences of environmentally friendly methods in hotel cleaning, emphasizing their advantages and difficulties. The research findings indicate that implementing environmentally-friendly practices using a qualitative case study technique involving interviews, observations, and document analysis leads to notable improvements in operational efficiency, cost reduction, and guest happiness. Consequently, this boosts the hotel's reputation. Notwithstanding these advantages, there are acknowledged difficulties including substantial upfront expenses, the requirement for extensive personnel instruction, and opposition to altering established practices. Efficient tactics to address these obstacles including enhancing internal communication, establishing alliances with environmentally conscious suppliers, and obtaining robust backing from top-level management. The study asserts that although the process of adopting sustainable housekeeping practices is difficult, the long-term benefits make it a worthwhile investment. However, additional research is necessary to investigate the specific effects and successful implementation tactics in greater detail

Abstract

This research is Research and Development (P&P) which leads to the development of a Literature Learning Model based on Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to increase literary appreciation in students. The process of developing this learning model goes through four main stages, namely preliminary studies, limited trials and extensive trials and experimental trials. The focus of this research is students of the English Language Education Study Program at Khairun University for class A as a limited trial and class B for a wide trial. The development results show that the CLIL-based literature learning model is valid, practical and effective. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the preliminary study stage which includes literature study, field study and preparation of an initial draft of the product which includes planning and developing the design of a Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) based Literary Learning model to Increase Student Appreciation of Literature as well as the design of learning tools is categorized as feasible and without revision. Trials with limited samples showed an increase in students' literary appreciation with an average score of 48% in the poor category

Abstract

Composite materials are widely used and in demand in various applications, because they have advantages such as being light and relatively strong. The basic material used in this composite uses natural fiber because the fiber is environmentally friendly and is available in abundance in nature, making it more economical. The matrix as a binder uses epoxy. This research was conducted to determine the comparison of tensile strength of composites due to the influence of alkalisation and non-alkalization with a concentration of 5% NaOH for 2 hours with fiber lengths of 5 cm and 7 cm. The composite specimens made refer to the ASTM-D638 standard. The research method used four stages, namely taking kepok banana tree frond fibers, making composites, tensile testing and SEM testing. The highest tensile test results occurred in composites with alkalization treatment with a fiber length variation of 5 cm, namely 39.54 MPa. Meanwhile, the highest value for the composite without alkalization treatment occurred at a fiber length of 5 cm, namely 39.19 MPa. The highest elastic modulus value occurred in the composite with a 7 cm fiber variation of 4.76 GPa with alkalization treatment

Abstract

The low students’ speaking ability in learning English on tourism concept demands the need for an innovative learning model which is the main problem in this research. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of project based learning (PjBL) model using local tourism videos in improving students' speaking skills. This type of research is a mixed method  with qualitative and quantitative analysis design. The data collection techniques used were observation, and students’ speaking tests. The data obtained were analysed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by local tourism videos proved effective in improving students' speaking skills with the initial average pre-test value was 57.33 and the average post-test value was 82.85. The normality test value was 0.460 which was distributed normally while the hypothesis value was 0.05, that is mean H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, thus it can be concluded that there is an improvement on students’ speaking ability at tourism class students through the implementation of the PjBL model using local tourism videos

Abstract

This study focuses on the research and development of local content textbooks using Fagogoru ethnopedagogy. The development process includes needs analysis, model validity testing, practicality testing, and effectiveness testing. Conducted at State Elementary School (SDN) 2 Weda in Central Halmahera Regency, the experimental research involved fourth-grade students. The Fagogoru ethnopedagogy textbook underwent thorough testing for needs analysis, validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Findings from the needs analysis stage, including literature and field studies, indicated a necessity for the Fagogoru ethnopedagogy textbook as a local content learning resource in Central Halmahera Regency. The trial phase demonstrated the textbook's validity, effectiveness, and practicality, deeming it suitable for elementary school use. Both content and construct validity tests met criteria, affirming its value as an educational research product. Practicality and effectiveness tests assessed implementation, student activities, obstacles, and learning outcomes. Practicality testing yielded values within the predetermined standard interval. Effectiveness testing, through hypothesis evaluation, revealed improved learning outcomes using Fagogoru ethnopedagogy. Student response tests indicated positive engagement with the learning activities. The effectiveness assessment of the textbooks confirmed their high efficacy in teaching local content through Fagogoru ethnopedagogy.
